I think it's time we move on from the Final Girl in horror. And START talking about the First Girl (aka, the girl that dies first in horror movies)! From bimbos, bitches, and butches, let's deconstruct the dead girls of horror and just kill the final girl already

I think the biggest reason why I'm so bummed about PT/Silent Hills getting cancelled is bc it was the last ever legit videogame to have secrets. Like, I remember the actual rumors of bigfoot in San Andreas or the secret museum in ratchet and clank and back then it was magical. This was the age of the single computer being shared with the whole family and having to write down cheat codes on a piece of notebook paper. No one really data mined games to suck the discovery out of them just yet, and if they did you would have to watch a 480p windows movie maker youtube vid on machinima if you're lucky. Like I know in hindsight shit like "if you shoot all the heads off the mannequins in nuke town Paul McCartney starts playing" was leaked purposefully by devs, it was still fun. And PT was the closest to that kind of feeling of discovery. To this day people still don't know how that fucking game works. No one knows why the flashlights can be different colors. No one knows the exact name you're supposed to say into the microphone. We still don't have models of the hallway or the exterior of the house, just fan recreations. That shit was magic, and I know the final release would never live up to the mystery surrounding it, but PT made me feel like a kid again

I saw Korra on a list of queerbaited characters and I know you people don’t learn your history but goddamn 2014 wasn’t that fucking long ago.
Korra is not queerbait. Korra is the opposite of queerbait. Korra was the creators pushing every damn boundary they could, before gay marriage was even legal, when all cartoon characters were assumed to be closeted by default and it was explicit policy that no queer relationships could be shown. Bryan Konietzko even mentioned that they pushed as hard as they possibly could go to make it clear that Korra was bi and she and Asami were in romantic love. He went to tumblr the exact same day to make sure there was no confusion. The instant they could, they had a comic about Korra and Asami’s first date and first kiss.
Korra and Asami holding hands is a thousand times more radical and queer than any of the craven tokens we’ve been getting these past few years and I will not hear different. There is a vast gulf of difference between creators who could goddamn well make something queer just constantly teasing it because they think it’s funny but would never actually go for it, and creators who actually cannot publish queer content doing everything they can to make it happen. The entire history of queerness is about sneaking past society’s norms and rules, writing our stories in subtext and allegory, and denying those stories their importance in getting us where we are today is foolish and cruel.

No, Mr. Horse, don’t worry, I certainly don’t have a Plinko down here! What I do have is this lovely cask of wine, specifically for horses, Amontillado in fact! Exquisite vintage.
I know you’re not supposed to be in this hospital, but if you’ll just follow me down this corridor—no, that’s not blood on the floor, it’s color theory, I’ll explain it later—I can bring you to this cask of wine that is certainly NOT a plinko machine—
