"Battle magic classroom - don't think my prof will be too pleased to see someone napping on his dueling stage." Blaidd smirked at the other from where he sat perched on a desk watching. When he'd happened upon the sleeping figure he'd found it utterly amusing to think that someone had wandered into Elias' classroom to take a nap. The fact Elias wasn't around to discover such a thing was certainly for the better. "You're lucky it was me and not him that found you."

Burak's left eye was the first to creak itself open, slowly followed by the right, and he let out a small groan. Sometimes he preferred waking with a jolt, at least that way he was aware of his surroundings quickly, but the slow process of waking up kept things fuzzy for a while. A side-effect perhaps of his latest batch of sleep potion, with the visions he'd experienced just as fuzzy as his vision currently. Not a valid match for prophesising he noted, sitting up right, attempting to get his baring. Someone was sat in front of him, the face materialising into clarity and he offered a weak smile.
"What room have I ended up in this time?"

At the sudden offer to come closer and pet the creatures Quentin debated it. Magical animals weren't really his forte, not something he'd ever shown much interest in beyond them being interesting to look at - but he supposed the least he could do was approach. "Alright...but I can't promise I won't offend them accidentally. Animals don't generally like me much." He joked coming closer.
Tumblr media
Max didn't have any animal studies classes that day but he still wanted to spend some time working with them. It was so easy to lose the respect of some of the magical items so he didn't want to run the risk. He was brushing the hair of one when he noticed someone lingering on the edge of the pens. "you want to get a closer look?" he called out with a smile "some of the are friendly enough you might be able to pet one."

"Probably the thrill of it." Quentin replied, glancing over at the other student with a mixture of sympathy and amusement. It wasn't personally something he would do - disturb everyone else in the library just for a quick fuck, but he could see why someone might. "Well, we could always give them a reason to finish up a little quicker." He smirked, looking at the tall bookshelf they were no doubt going at it against. "I wonder how much force it would take to make it start to topple over."

"Then why are you wasting your time with them?" Quentin questioned with a soft sigh. The book he'd been reading had only been a distraction for so long, more of an excuse to be in Elais' office than any work he'd really been attempting to do. He chuckled at the professor's question, giving a little shrug of one shoulder. "I'm sure I can be persuaded, perhaps I'll take it as a duel elective alongside Dark Arts. That is if you think I can write an essay that isn't a disappointment to you?" He teased, setting the book he'd been reading aside and leaning on the desk more. "Has anyone written anything worth reading in all that?" Quentin asked, poking at the pile of papers.
Tumblr media
"Actually, they do not," Elias said as he kept his eyes focused reading the awful essay in front of him. At one point in his career he had hope and belief that his students were smart and could actually do well in the world. Though as time goes by he realized that it was indeed the opposite. Each year the students seemed to care less or their intelligence dropped. Either way it was making the grading bit harder to stomach, Elias finding himself not even wanting to do it anymore. Simply giving every one a failing grade. Glancing up at the boy who seemed to make his office his personal study spot, Elias asked, "are you sure you do not want to take my class? I desperately need someone with some IQ in there."

"I am hoping this was a one-off event, but unfortunately it has shaken my trust a little." Greyson admitted with a soft sigh. He'd always believed in the very best of people, especially his students because why else would they want to attend his class other than to learn about the wonders that were magical creatures? And now one had chipped that trust and made the Professor doubt. "It's more than likely the only time I am intimidating." Greyson chuckled.
"Oh do I? And how'd I get that so easily?" Grey teased, teasing his fingers along Ori's lower back when he leaned forward. "After all, what would the others say if they thought you were playing favourites?" He smirked playfully.
Whenever Greyson was shown affection he eagerly wanted more. Perhaps it was a product of his upbringing - the only son of the ancient house of Bloodwood, a family legacy to uphold, and yet all he'd wanted to do was explore the world and see its many wonderous creatures. Much to the disappointment of his father. The wandering lifestyle hadn't given him many opportunities for love beyond the few short-lived childhood romances he'd had at school. And yet he was still ever the hopeless romantic at heart. "I could, maybe I'll write that into my next lesson plan."
Tumblr media
Grey listened, his fingers continuing their exploration of Ori's spine as he spoke, considering his words. "Hm, that is a small conundrum. You could always threaten them with having to feed the kelpies in my class if they don't meet your expectations?"
"I suppose we should have faith that most students wouldn't be that cruel." If they thought every student would harm a creature in the class, it wouldn't exactly foster trust between the students and the staff. "Though you are very, very intimidating when you're breathing fire." He added with a smirk curving up his lips.
"Well, you already have my vote oh so very secure." Ori teased playfully with a little lean forward of his head and a glint in his eyes. His tone might have been playful but his words rang with truth. He'd back Greyson in any plan he might want to do after an experience like this.
Tumblr media
Ori's affectionate tended to be very, very fluid. He was just as comfortable being on someone's lap as he was being the one with someone whose lap was taken. He was just as comfortable bending Greyson over the nearest surface as he was being the one taken. Perhaps it was because his own gifts had cursed him as much as liberated him. It was hard to see the future- to touch someone and be able to see how long a life they had, how it tangled and weaved with another. Where it might end without intervention. Being a true seer wasn't something he'd wish on anyone. He'd learned to counteract that burden by focusing on the moment he had in front of him. The people he had around him. "You could also just lose the pants, and do the talk naked. I'd attend that class." Ori replied cheekily, enjoying Greyson's laugh as it echoed around the room. There was a hum of his at that suggestion as he leaned back with a dramatic little sigh. "A tempting prospect to be sure- but I'm not sure fake prophecies would teach them anything else. I suppose I could start to limit testing them before they joined to see if I have a gift- of course, then I might get no students at all."

One thing Quentin usually liked about the library was the peace and quiet that could be found there. He'd had every intention to spend a while reading and doing some minor research for a paper that was due when his solace was disturbed. Looking up with a glare, nose scrunched in mild disgust at the very obvious sounds coming from behind some adjacent stacks of books. "I can only hope the shelves come crashing down onto them." He grumbled.

The particular intricacies of the spell were alluding him, all things that pulled at Quentin's last nerve. He wasn't always the most patient of people, perhaps that was a product of his upbringing, but one thing the youngest Malikov witch had always been was determined. He tried once again, growling softly in irritation when again he failed to cast - flexing his fingers to try and dispel the discomfort. "Apologies Professor, this spell is...testing my patience." He apologised, feeling Xian's gaze.

The grounds around Wixhaven were one of the few places Quentin liked to go. When he wasn't cooped up in a classroom or the library he liked to wander and explore the surrounding area. While magical creatures weren't really his thing, they were interesting to observe and he often found himself watching the classes that took place out of curiosity.

While the dark arts were interesting, there really was only one reason Quentin was studying them. Family tradition and pressure. Of course his father wanted all his sons to learn the practice, to become useful to the family business. So Quentin followed in the footsteps of his elder brothers and enrolled.
Tumblr media
He didn't hate it, in fact, he was surprisingly proficient, perhaps worryingly so. But was it truly what he wanted in life? Such philosophical questions were pondered as he stared into the pages of his textbook, not realising he'd stopped turning the pages or making his notes, that his candle had practically burnt out at the late hour. "Shit." He hissed softly when a drop of wax hit the back of his hand.

If he wasn't studying or practicing for his own discipline then there was really only one other place in the whole castle that Quentin ever was. Elias' classroom. He'd almost regretted not taking his class when he'd first arrived at the school, captivated by the Professor from day one.
But like with everything in Quentin's life, when he wanted something, he got it - no matter the cost. And there was nothing he wanted more than Elias' attention. It had become almost routine to read or study in the other's office while he graded papers or worked on whatever else he needed to, but as always Q grew bored quickly. "Do your students really write such riveting essays that it takes so much of your attention?" He asked, a playful smirk pulling at his lips from where he sat lounging in the chair opposite Elias' desk.

"Seems I might have to resort to such measures if they would harm my creatures even after seeing their Professor as the intimidating dragon he can be." Grey chuckled. There were two reasons the Bloodwood house crest was a dragon - the first Greyson's fascination with the creatures was lifelong after the deep roots his family had with the beasts, the second was the fact that the form he'd taken upon completing his animagus incantations was that of a Hebridean Black, a feat he was most proud of.
"Guess we know what I'll be bringing up at the next Founder's meeting them hm." He chuckled jokingly. While he might not propose they actually consider dunking wayward students into the river Styxs - perhaps a stricter vetting program to root out undeserving students might be worth considering.
Tumblr media
Greyson certainly relaxed under Ori's gentle petting, rather enjoying the weight of the other in his lap even if he was generally used to being in the opposite position with people. "Ah see, there it is. The catch. If I have to be shirtless to get people to listen to my ramblings, what hope is there for me?" He laughed. "Well if they think it's such an easy class, make the passing grade 99%. Then we'll see how many of them start to see prophecies in tea leaves." He teased.
"Exactly. Just threaten to dip them in the river Styx, the sight of the river of souls should keep them from any more acts of animal abuse. " Ori argued playfully with a little wiggle of his eyebrows. There's a tilt of his head as he sees Greyson go quiet- he could almost tell that the other was considering his words as a serious option and the divination teacher just sucked on the inside of his cheek with a little nod. "You know- I genuinely think he would. Larkin, at the very least, would understand the need for it." Or at the very least the headmaster would listen to them a decent argument about it. They did have something of an equal power structure among the founders after all.
There's a happy little hum as that arm wraps around his waist like that and he settles his ass back against Grayson's crotch, his own hand trailing down from the other's neck to his chest, his affection for the other was pretty evident every little touch.
Tumblr media
"Oh please. I could hear you ramble on about the flight patterns of the northeastern water dragons for hours, Greyson dearest. Provided you were shirtless while you did it." He countered with a little scrunch of his nose and a sip of his drink. "Hm- perhaps. Or it will be just another year of students thinking it's an easy passing mark." Ori said with a click of his tongue and a little shrug.

"Like some sort of field trip?" Greyson chuckled a brow raised at the other's teasing suggestion. It was an amusing thought, to send the students to the underworld as some form of punishment wrapped up in the guise of an educational excursion. For a moment Greyson seemed to go quiet, the cogs turning in his brain as he seemed to think over how viable such a suggestion actually was. "You think Larkin would sign off on that?" He asked, really considering it for a moment.
He shivered at the ghost of touch to his neck before he suddenly ended up with a lap full of Ori, surprised at the sudden action but not displeased. Greyson's free arm automatically wrapped its way around Ori's waist to provide extra support now he'd found his new seat.
Tumblr media
"I am a little, I can practically see the light fading in your eyes as I talk about habitat biomes and feeding habits." Greyson teased with a playful grin. He knew his subject was niche so was never offended when others didn't see the same spark he did. He listened, casually sipping his scotch as Ori talked, nodding along as he did. "I always found tarot fascinating, not that I was any good at it. But who knows, maybe this year someone will predict something big."
"I'm glad. It would be a shame if that student managed to actually succeed in that cruelty. " Ori remarked, magical creatures might not have been his favorite subject but he adored the love Grayson had for it. "Eh. I think we could have got at least one of the others on your team "We send the student to the underworld for a few days." Ori countered with a little dramatic wave of his hand before he dropped it to his side. Ori knew enough about the other that deliberately hurting one of these creatures was an express ticket to the worst side of the man. The fact the student was even alive was a remarkable thing.
"Oh. I know I am." Ori teased as he pushed off his chair and moved towards the other, a hand reaching out to brush affectionately down Grayson's neck as he settled himself into the fellow founder's lap. His other hand still holding his own glass of scotch which he raised to his own lips again to take a little sip.
Tumblr media
Ori gave a little nod as he let the other speak- ramble, really, about his class and his creatures. "What? No. No. You're not boring me. I promise. You can keep going.- " He said simply with a little easy smile. "Ah. My students." There's a little click of his tongue at that before he gives a little shrug. "I think most of them take my class as an easy option. They tend not to take palmistry or tarot as serious arts- I can't promise that they're overly invested." Ori said simply, with a little press of his lips. Seeing the future wasn't an easy burden- perhaps it was for the best that so few seemed to thrive in his class.

"She's fine, no whiskers lost and only a little shaken up." Grey replied. He knew not everyone shared his appreciation for magical creatures, something he'd argued with his family about for years, so he wasn't offended by any lack of interest Ori might have. "I figured Larkin and the other Founders might not appreciate the extra paperwork that came with me burning a student to ashes." He chuckled. It had taken an astounding amount of self-control for Grey not to simply change into his animagus form and burn the student where he'd stood.
"I don't know you're pretty convincing." Greyson teased as he sipped his whisky, enjoying the warm burn down his throat. He let the comfort of the room relax him, finally taking a seat in one of the plush chairs, enjoying his fellow founder's company.
"I enjoy having all my students in my class, this one was an outlier. The rest clearly want to learn about magical creatures, their physiology, habitats, care and breeding. You know it's all so fascinating and I'm hoping to start working on habitat reconstruction with them soon." Greyson began to chat, instantly getting lost in the topic of his studies before he paused and offered a soft laugh. "I'm probably boring you again aren't I? Tell me about your students, how are they fairing?"
Tumblr media
"Merlin, I hope that little gremlin wasn't in my house." Ori mused as he followed the other pacing back and forth with his eyes. He wasn't trying to be flippant with Greyson or his love of his own creatures. "Honestly, I think you would have been well in your rights to send him right to the underworld for that. I would have supported it." He pointed out with a little tilt of his head and a glint in his eyes.
"Oh. I think we both know I am offering both options in any order you wish. Pretty sure I wouldn't have the willpower to force you to pick one option on such a trying day." Ori drawled playfully as he raised his own scotch to his lips to take a long sip of it.
Tumblr media
"What can I say? I have my talents." Ori purred over at his fellow founder. Ori had a certain easy sensuality about him like every movement had this effortless sexuality that was impossible not to see even as he lowered his glass. 'How about you focus on happier things, at the very least my pretty, pretty Greyson. Surely you have a few students that you actually enjoy having in your class. How about you tell me about them instead?"

"A bad day feels like an understatement. A student tried to pull the whiskers off one of my kneazles!" Greyson lamented with an exasperated sigh. He'd been pacing for a while still seething with slight rage that anyone who attempted his class would have the audacity to try and injure one of his creatures. "They were lucky I only expelled them and didn't just incinerate them on the spot." He grumbled before finally taking Ori's advice to sit down and try and relax.
As professors went, Greyson was one of the more casual in his appearance despite coming from the very old and very distinguished Bloodwood family. Head of wild curls that could rarely be tamed, glasses that he was forever pushing back onto his face, a more casual style of clothes that said practical over true style.
Tumblr media
"Are you not offering both the booze option and the none booze options?" Greyson teased back as he poured himself a glass of scotch. "You do have the best ways to make me feel better Ori." He smirked.
Tumblr media
"Oh, cheer up Grayson, everyone has a bad day from time to time." Ori drawled playfully over at his fellow founder. It was only a gentle needlingly of course. There wasn't any doubt in his mind that all of them had...rougher days from time to time. It wasn't a simple thing to open a school- even this deep in, there were still growing pains between the founders and the students with each other. The divination teacher was his usual elaborate self, shining silver rings on all his fingers. Dark eye shadow painted his face and his hair was slicked back and well styled. Ori was someone who cared about how he looked and it showed in every single choice he seemed to make on his body.
"How about you sit down- have a drink and let me make you feel better?" Ori flirted easily as he waved his hand toward the bottle of scotch he had on a desk across the room.
"Unless you wanted the non-booze sort of solution to the issue." Which normally meant sex or talking. Which Oir was happy go either way at this point in the day.
@sirenxsong liked for a stater.
