Phoenitrauma refers to any trauma someone has experienced/is affected by that originates from a past life, reincarnation, etc. The term is meant to validate the traumatic experience and the post-traumatic effects one might experience from their past lives, but still distinguish itself from trauma experienced within both this world and life. The word is derivative of "phoenixal" and meant to describe a certain type of exotrauma specific to people whose exomemories are from past lives/reincarnation/etc. The symbol is a combination of the phoenixal symbol and the aqua PTSD ribbon, over the phoenixal flag.
This term is meant for all people/beings/etc that experience any sort of reincarnation or past lives, including otherkin/therians, introjected system members, and more. This term does not discriminate between spiritual-based and string-theory-based reincarnation/dimensional concepts.

A system or system member that is phoenitraumagenic originates from phoenitrauma, a specific type of exotrauma stemming from past lives and other reincarnations. This means that the system/member(s) themselves stemmed from pre-existing phoenitrauma, rather than it simply coming with their exomemories.
Example 1: Member A has a traumatic past life, and Member B forms to cope with a specific aspect of that trauma. Member B is phoenitraumagenic.
Example 2: The system has no existing past life connection to Character C, but when Fictive C showed up, they found themself to be deeply affected by the exotrauma they experienced. Fictive C has phoenitrauma, but is not phoenitraumagenic.
Example 3: Member E has phoenitrauma from a bad experience in a previous reincarnation. Eventually, Member E splits a subsystem specifically centered around the phoenitrauma experienced. Member E's subsystem is phoenitraumagenic.
Example 4: Member G unlocks memories of a past life, and due to the trauma related to that past life, their identity is drastically altered to present completely as that past life. Member G is phoenitraumagenic.

But the majority of Otherkin on TikTok are 12-14 and TikTok is the main platform where we are seen by non-kin
So now there’s this big misconception that we are all young tweens running on all fours and wearing mask when in reality most of us don’t do that and its barely scratching the surface of the community
I’m not saying young otherkin aren’t valid because they are young, I’m just saying right now they are the face of the community because TikTok is the place where non-kin “learn” about us

AITA for taking my (23m) brother on a road trip?
So I (27m), found out that our father (39m) had gone missing. So I drove to see my little brother, who was at Uni to see if he was able to come and look for our dad with me.
My little brother, has managed to settle down at law school with his girlfriend but despite that he was willing to drop everything to help me look for dad.
The issue is, whilst we were out on our road trip looking for dad, His girlfriend was murdered.... And I kinda blame myself because my little brother might have been able to save her.
On top of that, I kinda got my brother involved in some of my illegal dealings, that led to us both getting placed on the FBI wanted list, so now my little brother can't go back to law school even if he wanted to.

I can get why people would be uncomfortable with factkin of ppl who are still alive in this universe although being uncomfortable doesn't mean you get to call something fake, but I digress...but I'll never understand the issue with ppl being kin with dead ppl from this universe when past life beliefs are so common in the kin community?
Aside from that, if someone feels like they are still in some way another person/known animal who is alive here because of parallel lives/past lives/metaphysics/psychological factors etc like... that's not all too dissimilar to fictionkin or any other kintype. - Junji Ito (from Parallel Earth #105) /srs
P.s. I've never seen a factkin even like try and actually properly impersonate their kintype and take over this version of their life anyway so...the issue is just a silly moral one, again not dissimilar to 'fictionkin aren't real because that's a fictional character/creature that a real person made up so it's basically intellectual theft'.

The whole "factkin cause identity theft" business is misguided to say the least. The people who honestly believe that either A) have the assumption that all factkin behave like stalkers or B) have no idea what actually constitutes identity theft.
I agree that people being uncomfortable with the idea of factkin is understandable. I also agree that it's unfair to call something fake just because it makes you uncomfortable. Discomfort is not completely a negative feeling. It is natural when you don't understand something. Just because you're uncomfortable with an idea at first does not mean it is morally wrong or bad. If more people would make more of an effort to understand the community I believe they'd be a lot less uncomfortable with it!
The issue of dead VS alive facttypes is another thing altogether. I've seen people say they're only against factkin whose kintypes are currently alive. The dead ones are fine. What sense does that make? How can one type of factkin be acceptable, and another be bad or false?
I've been accused of stealing the identities of my facttypes both dead and alive and I would like to respectfully ask: Who honestly believes that Peter III of Aragon, who died in the early 14th century, cares whether or not I spiritually identify as him? Who honestly believes that I stand to gain anything, monetary or otherwise, from claiming this identity? Why, if I'm "actively choosing" to "steal an identity" did I pick a long-deceased obscure medieval king about whom only fragments of knowledge exist?

New donation post cause the old one is now out of date
Hi in case you weren't aware, my name is Jason and me and my family (2 others) have been homeless and sleeping in our truck for the past five months due to having to leave our home out of fear of retaliation our being collateral due to criminals in our building.
We're trying to get housed of course but difficulties with having multiple people living in one vehicle and the fact we all disabled have made more typical routes unaccessible to us.
Right now we're having to do maintenance on our truck as it had taken a beating through the winter including a broken window and a flat tire.
Making money has of course been difficult and everything is so much more expensive while homeless. So anything helps us right continue to live and work towards finding stability.
For reasons I don't want to get into publicly I do think a finish line is in sight, so assuming I'm not wrong we just need one more push.
