Not cycling it yet because the filter is making an obnoxious noise that I can't find the source of :')
I've read some reviews that this particular filter (Aqueon Quietflow 10) just sucks, so if I cant find any other issues, it's very possible I'll just get a new one >.> experience or tips welcome!

Daily fish fact #324
Fish anatomy!
The adipose fin is a small, soft, fleshy fin towards the back of the tail of many fish species, most notably salmonids and catfish! The true purpose of the fin is unknown, but due to it having a high amount of nerves, it's suspected that its function is related to sensing things, like touch, sound and pressure changes.

next time you make baseless claims about how scary sharks are, look at a salmon shark.
look at him. you’re gonna look at him and tell me he’s infesting our waters? that this is a creature of terror?
look at him. look at him real good. this is a sea puppy. how fucking dare you talk about him this way. he’s gonna cry now, look at what you did. bet you feel real fucking stupid, huh? real silly? you better. think about what you’ve done. bitch

The strange world of brine pools.
Deep under the sea, there are pools of water, separate from the rest of the ocean. Created when water seeping down there the ocean floor, mixing with long buried salt deposits, resulting in these highly saline pools.
The brine itself is uninhabitable for the vast majority of creatures. The lack of oxygen, and extremely high salt and toxic mineral content quickly sends just about any creature that enters them into toxic shock.
Still, these pools are oases of life on the sparsely populated abyssal plane. The mineral-rich water provides much-needed nutrients to life surrounding these toxic waters.
