“Is that for me?” he asks, even though he knows it is. Wille nods, giving Simon one of his patented ‘please read my mind so I don’t have to say anything’ looks. Simon wishes he could, but this is too precious, too important to risk relying on guesswork. They’re going to have to actually say the words.

“He stayed for two nights? Wow.”
Simon shrugged, trying not to look too smug about it. After breakfast in bed Wille had shyly asked if he could take a shower, and Simon had not so shyly asked if he could join him, and when they finally emerged Wille smelled like his, like his soap and his shampoo, and his hair dried all fluffy and cute and Simon couldn’t stop running his fingers through it. They spent the whole day talking, or laughing, or cuddling on the sofa, just being close in every way possible, it was amazing, and Simon hadn’t planned it or expected it, but they made love again on Saturday night, kneeling in the middle of the bed, Wille taking him from behind, slow, deep, a line of kisses across his shoulder blades, big hands on Simon’s hips, pulling him backwards.
“Simon!”
“What?”
“If you slurp any more you’re going to get brain freeze!”
“Oh shit. Sorry,” Simon put the plastic cup back between his knees, “sorry. I was distracted.”
“Clearly. You haven’t spoken for like, ten minutes.”
“Sorry.”

There are corners of tumblr that I sometimes stumble into, look around in utter confusion, take a minute to try to decode the language they're speaking--it sounds like English but why don't I understand half the words?--and then realize, no, I just went the wrong way and I should turn around and go back. I need to suppress my sociological curiosity sometimes, it's just too wild out there.

It would be nice for people coming into the fandom to have somewhere to start but I guess there aren't any reader-made rec lists. So maybe authors could reblog this and rec a couple of their own fics? Or a couple per ship if they've written for multiple ships and of course readers could still chip in too if they felt like it!
