May I interest you in some Francey headcanons?
I headcanon that Francis has/does occasionally work on vineyards and wineries on the outskirts of small towns around France when he feels overwhelmed by world politics and just wants to reconnect/detox (especially after particularly stressful political events). He will wake up early and begin harvesting the finest grapes he can find on the vines. He takes pride in each cluster of grapes he can snip. He knows the owners personally and comes back every year to taste the results of his labor.
He works from dawn to dusk without a cent in compensation. The owners insist but he doesn’t keep it. After a few days of hard work, he gets the best, most restful sleep he’s had in ages.
