Now look, i fully went through the Lin Manuel Hamilton phase of reading every take I could, every musical choice he explained for why chracters say this, or what inspired that rhyme.
And Jorge is out here doing it again, in depth, letting us know the process behind the music, the arrangements, the instrumental choices as it happens. Giving us insights into lines and connections I wasn't smart enough to make myself. I wasn't looking to follow the creation of a musical or animation or whatever this ends up being for several years already, but Jorge gives us so much detail to really show off just how intricately beautiful every aspect of his work is, that I can't stop looking.
And I love that.
Gotta wonder what it’s like being Jorge Rivera-Herrans knowing that you’re the one who wrote, “When does a ripple become a riddle wave? When does the reason become the blame? When does a man become a monster?” AND “Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves” AND “The line between naïveté and hopefulness is almost invisible”
Like, how does it feel to be THAT good with words and know that not only are they phenomenally arranged, but people love them so much that they’ve found life outside to context of their origins. Like, people are going to remember these words dude. I STILL get chills listen to Epic and I know most of the words by heart

I got a cameo from Ryan and uh some highlights:
His David is canonically gay “Davey being gay, it wasn’t a joke, that was just how I saw him and that’s how I played him”
David’s crush on Jack begins in the theater when he sees Jack’s art (“you’re really good!”)
“We would honestly have shows where, before the show, we would say like ‘oh should we play up the sexual tension here?’” In regards to javey
“If there was a touch we would hold onto it a second too long” (adding javey into shows)
“In my mind I love the idea that one day Jack and David end up together and maybe in the end it was them who fell in love”
He has a notebook with David’s family tree, a timeline of his life, where his grandparents had immigrated from, his best subjects in school.
Davey lives on the lower east side and wants to go to Columbia to be a lawyer because he wanted to “make a change in the world”
He didn’t have friends at school and the newsies were his first group of friends (which is why they meant so much to him)
Anyway this was basically everything Ryan said so it is all 100% canon in the uksies universe at least 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

Honestly who gave Wicked the RIGHT to express what's expressed in For Good.
