Na nah I get it
Much as I love the DJD and Tarn in MTMTE, I did find that Cyberverse Tarn was much more of a threat than MTMTE!Tarn
Unpopular opinion time:
Been watching a bit of Cyberverse again recently and I gotta say, I way prefer the Cyberverse take on Tarn over the MTMTE one!
I just find that version so much more interesting as a character, than the overly edgy leader of the DJD...
Even when MTMTE was being released I never really got the hype around Tarn, I suppose its the Boba Fett effect, a cool design can really carry a character into popularity even if there's not all that much to go off in the source text.!
(I love MTMTE but admittedly I can't say I ever found the villains all that compelling/interesting, with the exception of Getaway and to a lesser extent Pharma, though Lost Light's rushed conclusion kinda cut that short too.)
It kinda illustrates why trying out new ideas / continuities in the franchise is a good thing, it can completely change your feelings towards a character or do something cool with neglected concepts etc ...

Tw for what is essentially fall damage and paralysis under the cut
So we all know how Matau threw himself off of the Coliseum after fighting and talking to Vakama and he was caught by Vakama before actually falling to his death, or the scene where the Toa have to swing off the chute system and onto a tower and Matau fell
Lucky him, he's got no fear of heights
But imagine if he fell and hit the ground. Hard. Hard enough to be unable to move at all
All he can do is just take a breath in and a breath out because he cannot afford to panic. Not when his armor is broken, not when he landed in a way that he can't see out of one eye, not when he hurts worse than any time he crashed while test driving, and ESPECIALLY not when he hears Turaga Dume announce for the remaining Toa's capture and hears Vakama and Nokama climb down the tower and race over to check on him
All he can focus on is taking a breath in and out as Vakama basically falls over on himself apologizing because he let Matau fall and Nokama shouts for him to pull himself together so they can help their brother. All he can focus on is taking a breath in and out as he's turned on his back. He can finally see them both, and both look utterly SICK and TERRIFIED upon seeing him
Matau opens his own to tell them he's fine, just a little hurry all over, maybe even ask how badly his armor is, something SUPER brave and super Toa-Hero-esque because he IS a Toa-Hero and something as small as a fall compared to dealing with the shape-shifting Krahka and Morbuzakh
What comes out instead, much to his embarrassment, is a visceral scream. Even when he tries stopping himself, he just keeps screaming. He Durant renege trying to move, but Nokama tries quieting down and tells him to hold still. He's moving more than he thinks because Vakama has to step in and hold him, and he basically had Matau resting against his legs and while he's not answering any of the questions Matau has, he's telling him he's going to be okay, which helps, but doesn't help. And he's not really asking questions. He starts screaming and Vakama calms him down
Nokama has Vakama help her heal Matau, as in they use their energy to heal him and it goes shakily. For one Matau is healing, but IT HURTS and they have to stop a few times to comfort him, Nokama telling him he's doing great and they're getting him healed and Vakama telling him about more personal stories than anything, stuff like how his friend tried bringing a lava eel home as a pet, how sometimes the tool-makers would sing to make their day go fatser, how he turned heads during a game because he proved to be a pretty good shot with a disk launcher and ended up winning a bet between him and another mask-maker
Eventually, Matau can see out of his other eye, can feel hits limbs, and can move again. He's also got a sore throat from screaming, but he tries asking if anyone saw him fall. Nokama is more just glad that he's alive and is glad he's alright

If Cayde is in the box again, it’s possible his ‘plan’ is to just make he sure he dies instead of Wolf. Like sure, this would probably crush Wolf, but at least they’d be alive. Self sacrificing BS go brrrrh

I think majorly. One of the things I want to change is who knew about the whole Time Travel shenanigans Osiris pulled off. Originally, the idea in my head that all the other stories in the series were different universes Osiris lived through trying to find a one where Wolf would live, but things kept getting worse and worse and he was slowly getting convinced that they were doomed to die, which is right where the Traveler went “hmm. Nah, your trying hard enough, have some help :D”
I was also thinking that Osiris would tell Crow each universe- something about how he knew Wolf needed someone slightly more stable than they are and hoping that putting the two of them together earlier might save them
And then Darkness Uldren happened so. You know, that didn’t work out the way he wanted.
SO FAR I think who’s actually going to be in the box is Crow, Glint, Osiris and Saint.
Fynch and Zavala are a secret te-fucking-he.
SECONDLY: hey what the fuck was up with the Hawk?
I’m not sure how much I explained this like. At all, but the Hawk was Wolf and the Gardener. It’s complicated, but in the first ever situation that caused this whole mess, Wolf merged with the Gardener to be able to put down the Witness, but the resulting power sort of shredded their inner body, and ghost was already dead by that time.
SPEAKING OF. Ghost was shot by the Guardian in OG Timeline after Ghost kept getting possessed by the Witness and unknowingly lead them into traps and dangerous situations, so he begged them to do it. They could never refuse him.
The Hawk was basically supposed to be Navi whenever Wolf was being stupid OR about to go down the same path. Basically “hey! Listen! Hey!”
I still think I’m keeping Wolf and Uldren friendship because that’s just funny to me and probably only me, but yall have to deal with it. They get to try and subtly kill each other without causing a diplomatic incident as a treat. Somewhere down the line after Blackheart, it turns into this weird respect thing with Uldren.
They both saw something horrible that changed them and survived it, one better than the other.
