Copied/ Knocked-off/ Faux/ Cloned/ Forged/ Inspired/ or even an Homage to YvesKlein ... whatever you want to call it, I accept…. I have only known about this artist for roughly 2 years. I have never seen a real piece by him. My #art was created out of the love of his #InternationalKleinBlue color.

I decided I also want to build my own dining table. (Can you tell I like projects🤓). My house is a small furniture store at this point. 😂. I woke up early this morning and started learning how to miter corners. This is a practice table. If it’s stable, I’ll make it into a small nightstand.
For my very first attempt at mitering, I don’t think it’s awful. The table certainly needs some more attention and I need practice but it’s a decent start.
I started this painting with a art piece I created last year. I was experimenting with texture art. This was a good test for me to learn how to use plaster on canvas. I am not a fan of what I created… thus she is being ‘renovated’ 😂.
.
Day by day, over the course of two and a half weeks, I spent a few hours a day dotting and pressing the paint into the canvas with a paint spatula. This created a unique appearance with layers of texture. I went back over the painting with #24k #GoldLeaf in areas that showed more of the base color than I desired. Spending another 6 hours perfecting the work. Bringing my total time to 28 hours. (This does not include the time to pull the nails out of the carpenters bench or restoring that item.) This has totally been a labor of love!
.
For me, the gold added a touch of formality to an otherwise chaotic painting that has pulled multiple stories together in to one gorgeous masterpiece (if I do say so myself.) All inspired by a random trip to, what I now know, as a very famous art show. #Frieze

I have a passion for restoring vintage and antique pieces of furniture. I have also been known to ‘dabble’ in art. Some pieces turn out amazing (to me – and that’s really all that matters) while others turn out… well, shit. I should throw these away but like a good hoarder, I keep them anyway in hopes of one day fixing the mistakes or repainting them into something I love 😂. In this case, it is exactly what I did.
The inspiration for this work came from an invitation to #FriezeLondon. I was invited by our fabulous friend, Virginie. Little did I know that it would inspire me to create, what I think is my best #ArtWork yet.

I bought this #victorianCouch at the #Ostuni #AntiqueMarket a few months ago. It has been sitting in my workshop while I thought about what to do. I finally have an idea that I love! I am going to make it into my Great Danes future #DogBed. 😱😂 She sleeps on a couch in our room already and its not exactly cute… Once I’m done it will be a dog bed fit for a princess!

~ I was walking around New York City circa 2014 when I stumbled across a store called ABC off Broadway St…Fast forward a few years to 2022 and now I am living in Italy. Shopping on #facebook market place for furniture to restore. Oh the life we live! 😂
This all started with an inspiration photo I found on Pinterest. Then I decided that I wanted to see this painted with 3D lips.
Well, here she is! Sorry, no idea whom the original artist is.
Lips are made from a mixture of plaster and glue. Hand formed, then sanded into shape. Painted with a variation of reds… until I hated the red teeth and updated the painting. 😅😂
On #NewYearsEve of 2022 I was at a bar in #Venice #Italy, sitting outside in the cold and I had drunk enough #champagne to take down a horse 😂 … but I spotted a light and my mind started designing my townhouse in #Ostuni again - all before midnight. I took a picture and the next morning, January 1st, 2023 I was on a mission to find it. I came back to Ostuni to the first antique market of the year and spotted this beautiful vintage #Iron light with #AmberGlass just before we were leaving. Its not an exact match (& a fraction of the original lights cost ) and that’s ok! Though I do believe it will make the perfect courtyard light for my property. After cleaning the light and sealing the iron to stop future rust, I changed the wires. Now it’s ready and waiting on the home to be complete. 🥂. . . . . #Cheers #InteriorDesign #RestoreItaly #architecture #AntiqueMarkets #VintageFinds #MuranoGlass (at Italia, Venezia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoKl2Ust7u6/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
FINALMENTE! Ho finito.
