Minnesota Autumn. When I think of autumn, this is what I think of. The reds, yellows, oranges, and various shades of green, not only in the trees, but the tall grass and underbrush as well. Mirrored Waters. I have lived here for a few years now, and I still am uncertain how deep this pond is. Some places are shallow enough to be more land than water, but other places are dark enough that I cannot see the bottom, no matter what kind of sunlight is out. Wood Duck. This is the paired picture to Just a Little Sip, and the wood duck in question. Truly a wonderful, natural work of art, this wood duck belongs to a family that we have watched grow all summer long in our backyard. Just a Little Sip. I was quietly crouching behind some tall reeds on the ponds edge, waiting for wildlife when a sudden large object fell into the water. I looked over to see a beautiful male wood duck lazily swimming around so I carefully took the moment to capture the array of colors before me. As he swam away from the log, I noticed a squirrel take the opportunity to scurry down and take a quick sip of water before the duck came back.
