It will change your life
So I've not been around for quite a while - well I have been in the aether just focusing on other things.
The guilt of not being perfect all the time was draining me to the point where I felt transparent.
Then along came the lady from UFYH, told me that I was going to be OK - read the manifesto, followed the way of unfucking and made me feel like a new person.
Like other posters,  I felt reborn and have embraced creating things other than mess (which is nicely under control thanks to the UFYH team)
So if you are suffering, suffer no more - sign up to the UFYH way
It will change your life - it changed mine

Let it stew
It was a slow cooker that I freecycled. It had been on my kitchen shelf for 3 years and I had never used it. Why did I keep it if it was a piece of kitchen equipment that I never used you may ask yourself.
I asked myself that question every time I looked at it.
It was my dad's and I had memories of him buying it soon after mum died. He wasn't a very good cook and the simplicity of throwing everything in the pot and leaving it for hours to stew whilst he went about his business seemed like the perfect thing he needed.
I'm not sure what recipes he followed but they always smelled quite delicious and I was proud of him.
When he died, and we cleared out the house, I decided that a slow cooker would be an ideal way of cooking too. Throw everything into the pot and let it stew.
Only I didn't.
I let the memories of sadness that I had losing both my parents stew inside me and everytime I looked at the slow cooker it brought those memories back.
I am exhausted - it's time to let these emotional reminders go.
Fare thee well slow cooker - may you continue to slow cook in your new home.

ebayphobic Clutterfairy 1 ebay 0
I've finally faced my fear and listed an item on ebay.
Not holding out much hope that I'll get megabucks (99p will do) but it's a small step to clearing my clutter mountain.
I fall into the sentimental keeper of "treasures" that I hold onto because of the memories that they hold. I'm working on overcoming this by taking a picture of the treasure so if I need to recall the memory I can just look at that rather than have the 3D object cluttering up my hovel.
Next up is freecycling some stuff - that should be fun!
It's a start of a long, long journey. Farewell "cruel emotional reminders" of a time gone by.
I no longer need reminders of the past in my present.

I think we can safely say, although no longer a duckling, this guy’s got a bit wayward.

Unfucked The Barn - hell yeah!
There is now a pile of crap in the middle that I have still to sort but at least the corners are clean and organised. I did feel overwhelmed at the very thought of sorting this out but took my time and the obligatory breaks.
I found a box of broken kettles and toasters - lord only knows why I have been collecting and saving them but there will be going to the dump as soon as I find out where it is.
So on my list tomorrow is to sort through the pile of crap in the middle.
Uffy Duck approves.

Say who’s a wayward duckling?
There once was a wayward duckling,
Whose hovel was grubby and brown,
And her mess was blurred in her little world
She felt so down,
She felt.. she felt.. she felt so down.
And she went round her shack, round her hovel - feeling black
with a worry and eyes that frown.
  That poor little wayward duckling,
Spent pondering hours with tears,
Felt such a disgrace with her whole damn space,
How about, how about getting of here
And she went round her shack, round her hovel - feeling black
And a belly so full of fear.
Crawled through the internet, amid shelves of disarray,
Shamed to show her place, betrayed by the mess she'd made,
All through the internet, looking at blogs of "neat",
Till she gawked upon and cried right there- a tumblr site indeed-
It's the Unfuck Your Habitat Team!
  I’m still a wayward duckling,
But my hovel's not grubby nor brown,
For a fact her words in my little world said
"The best in town"
"The best - take a rest" - no need to frown
Love my shack, love my shack- see my hovel - no longer black,
And inside feel that this'll give me my life back.
Made my bed so no need to cry,
Say who’s a wayward duckling?
Say I!
Say I!
