alan turing - the gay computer scientist Will chose for his hero presentation - created the turing test - which is a test of a machine's ability to exhibit intelligent behaviour equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human.
and i KNOW it is used in reference to AI - but i can’t help but think that’s in reference to the mind flayer too. it’s an organism (perhaps controlled by vecna, no one really told us 💀) with no human conscience, and yet it initially mocks human behaviour with will (and albeit b*lly) so well, while still slipping up at times (b*lly acting calm at dinner and will saying “you’re mom”/forgetting people and hesitating at naming mike)
