tags. gn!reader, all fluff ! just satoru wanting your attention after you're giving your attention to a new cat the two of you adopted. / author's note. lyrics taken from the song, attention by newjeans. i chose the cat name bambi because there's this cat on instagram named bambi that i follow and she is the cutest cat ever omfg!!

satoru stares at the new cat that the two of you adopted, like it's the most evil cursed spirit he's encountered.

your cat bambi, has seemingly noticed his intense gaze and stares back at him with the same intent. satoru might be going crazy, but is bambi perhaps smirking? you, on the other hand have not noticed the two of them having a stare off and continue petting bambi while you mindlessly scroll on your phone on the couch.

after another 5 minutes of the two staring each other down, satoru finally breaks and sighs loudly. you, being used to his loud, dramatic sighs, mumble a “what?” before you finally look up at him.

satoru looks at you and then bambi, and stays silent before saying something incoherent. he even seems a little embarrassed and sulks afterwards.

“what? say that again, satoru. couldn't hear you.” you murmur as you continue to pet bambi.

“stop giving bambi all your attention and cuddle with me.” satoru mumbles, but it's not clear enough that you still can't hear him.

“still can't hear you, satoru.”

satoru thought steam was going to start coming out of his ears as bambi kept staring at him with a smug look. and how silly would you think he was for getting jealous of a cat?

he sighs before clearing his throat. “please stop giving all your attention to bambi and pay attention to me.” he quickly says it, but it's clear enough for you to finally understand what he's been trying to say.

you laugh for a second before quickly holding it in. “s-satoru. are you jealous that i've let bambi lay all over me since we've got her?” you chuckle, trying your best to not laugh.

satoru groans before walking over to you and grabbing bambi off your lap before plopping down next to you and pulling you onto him.

“no. ‘ts just.. you know. i'm your boyfriend, and some cat should not be taking your attention away from me.” he smirks victoriously as he looks at bambi, who is now on the ground, glaring at him. she lets out a meow that sounded like it had some sass hinted in it.

you let out the laughs you've been holding in as you lean into his touch. “as much as i love bambi, she will never take away my attention from you.”

“hey! don't laugh at me. and it's bambi's fault, not yours. she does not seem to like me at all. she scratched me on the first day we got her!” satoru shows off the microscopic scratch that bambi gave him on the first day that's almost healed, but you agree with him nonetheless.

“okay, true. but maybe it'll just take time for her to like you. good things take time, they say.” you laugh.

“i guess. but i feel like she's the dramatic type. you know, keeping first impressions in mind and keeping grudges. i didn't even do anything to her.” satoru mumbles the last part, but due to bambi's excellent hearing, she whipped her head to look at him as she hissed.

satoru gasps. “see! she understood what i said and hissed at me. we should've got that white cat instead.” the two of them seemingly having another stare down.

“she'll warm up to you in a few weeks. she just liked me from the start because ‘m cooler.” you chuckle as bambi jumps back onto your lap, not liking all the attention you're giving to satoru.

“she's even barging into our conversation. leave, buddy.” satoru sits up and grabs bambi off your lap before laughing triumphantly.

“you two are literally beefing for no reason.” you sigh and shake your head as you lightly punch his shoulder.

“it's reasonable! we all know that i'll be the one to have your attention more anyway.” satoru chuckles.

“unfortunately, you do.”

the two of you end up falling asleep on the couch, and when you wake up, bambi is cuddled between the two of you, like she magically warmed up to satoru overnight.

don't get me wrong, i've never exactly liked you.

tags. a tiny bit ooc satoru, very light angst, gn!reader, mostly fluff ! / author's note. inspired by the song, sour grapes by lesserafim :3 (also its insane that theyve literally almost debuted two years ago) essentially just feelings in denial kinda!

SATORU is naturally a smooth talker, so he personally believes that he has never actually had a crush on anyone. sometimes he unintentionally flirts with people. one time, a waitress seemed to be super flustered, but all he did was order. (it was his tone of voice, but he's super unaware.. and maybe his stupid, handsome face) so, when suguru and shoko asked him one day if he had a crush on you, he was confused why they would think so. in their perspectives, satoru's tone of voice was softer around you, he wasn't just mindlessly “flirting” with you, his compliments seemed genuine. and to top it off, you are always the first person he looks at when he cracks a joke. satoru himself noticed this but had no idea why he had done this. he also felt his heart race around you. and his face felt hot around you. despite being flirty, he had never actually dated anyone, so the feeling was new to him. maybe a little more convincing from suguru and shoko was all it took for him to realize that he did like you.

YUTA and you are childhood friends, and people often mistake you for a couple. even your friends ship you. yuta nervously laughs and says, “we're practically siblings! we've known each other since we were little.” you on the other hand, feel dejected when he says this, because you maybe kind of had a fat crush on him. truthfully, yuta himself feels that he may have been developing feelings for you over the past few years, but has been terrified to say something because he didn't want to ruin your years worth of friendship over his stupid feelings. he had a nightmare one night that he had confessed to you, and you looked at him with a puzzled face and told him you thought of him more as a brother than anything. he comically woke up sweating and sat right up, thankful that it was just a dream. that whole day, yuta seemed off. seemingly avoiding you, and if he couldn't, it was minimal interaction. after a few days of yuta's odd behavior, you decide to confront him. yuta mindlessly mumbles some random things that you couldn't understand, but towards the end, he suddenly confesses. yuta himself looks surprised at what he said, and he awkwardly says, “oh.. just, uh.. pretend you didn't hear anything if you don't feel the same. it was.. an accident.” you laugh and tell him you have felt the same all these years, and he breathes a sigh of relief. you and yuta went on a date the next day.

SUGURU is typically kind, calm, and gentle with everyone, but with you? he seems to be slightly more snappy and has a cold tone of voice. it's not like he's being rude or mean to you; he just seems irritated. whenever you laugh at one of satoru's jokes, you swear his eyes are rolling to the back of his head and he is loudly sighing. maybe it's because you're annoyingly pretty and your laugh is so cute that he's annoyed. or maybe the fact that he's not the one making you laugh. and don't even get me started when it's just the two of you. awkward silence. you could hear crickets chirping, a pin drop, and the subtle breathing. you have tried multiple times to start a conversation and maybe break this romantic tension, but he has always just dryly responded and kept the conversation one-sided. and this wasn't just a few times; it was daily. every single day, satoru and shoko randomly leave, and you've tried tagging along before to avoid the awkwardness with suguru, but they quickly run off before you get the chance to ask. it was painfully obvious to satoru and shoko that you two had liked each other and hey, maybe if they keep leaving the two of you alone like this, one of you will crack and confess. (spoiler: it was suguru first.)

YUUJI has always thought you were an amazing person. romantically though? he thought otherwise. but, oh boy, one day when he saw you with a guy he had never seen in his life, his mind changed immediately. he quickly thinks to himself, “you're not even dating in the first place. don't get jealous. dontgetjealousdontgetjealous.” yuuji nearly loses it when he sees the guy hug you. he uses every cell in his body to resist running up to the guy and maybe or maybe not swinging at him. after a few eye twitches deep breaths, he starts to walk in your direction as if he were casually passing by and coincidentally ran into you. when he makes eye contact with you, he smiles before saying, “oh, hey y/n! watcha doing here?” while his smile seemed a little forced, you brushed it off. you wave back to him and tell him that you saw a cousin of yours after not seeing him for a few years. relief immediately washed over yuuji, and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.

MEGUMI is oblivious. his face is clearly flushed, and his words are slightly jumbled whenever he's around you. this became even more clear when one day, yuuji and nobara had interrogated him about why his face is always red around you. which of course, he denied. he simply says, “it was hot out, that's all.” they see right through megumi's “lie.” yuuji and nobara both look at each other before bursting out laughing. “it's literally winter, fushiguro.” megumi rolled his eyes and moved on with his day. (he was secretly praying they didn't make a big deal about it, but he knows damn well they probably did) yuuji and nobara on the other hand, ran to tell you that it was quite literally confirmed that megumi liked you too! after they told you about what they had just witnessed, (mind you, they were speaking fast as hell so it was hard to understand, but you got the general idea) they started dragging you towards megumi's location. they didn't even give you a chance to oblige against it because they couldn't let this chance go to waste! they've been watching the tension between you and megumi for the past few months, and they were sick of it! and oh boy, when you were finally face-to-face with megumi.. it was awkward. like 3 minutes of awkward silence. but, it ended with megumi asking you out, so hey!

WE KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT US… habits they picked up while dating you.

ISAGI YOICHI ‧₊˚ ⊹ : he had a habit of always looking at the door the second you leave the room when you have guests or are around people. he looks at it until you come back holding snacks or the phone you forgot in side. some people get offended, and they have the right. like hello? are you listening? your partner will be back in a minute chill!

BARO SHOEI ‧₊˚ ⊹ : always finds himself buying the cleaning product you like or need. and it simply happens subconsciously, he'd be shopping, and when he arrives at the cleaning section, he goes, "oh, (name) likes that cleaning product" or "(name) needs that." also has a habit of organising everything for you; sometimes you call him mad because you couldn't find a specific thing, and he tells you where it is, and you realise it was right in front of you (💀)

NAGI SEISHIRO ‧₊˚ ⊹ : playing with your fingers or your nails, if they are long. it's doesn't matter the situation; he just does. kisses them sometimes and cracks them for you, but if you don't like that, he won't. shockingly learned how to fold clothes because of your influence. (reo should thank you.) you are always making him fold them for you, though sometimes you have to redo them because the look really bad.

ITOSHI RIN ‧₊˚ ⊹ : learns how to paint nails for you. it becomes a habit for him to make you sit down and do any design for you, and since he's a fast learner, it does not take him long before he is doing complicated designs. or if you don't like doing your nails, he's learnes how to do hair or anything else you like. it's basically his love language. learning things you like so he can do them for you.

SHIDO RYUSEI ‧₊˚ ⊹ : cooks or bakes for you. despite the popular belief that he can't cook or bake, he actually can. he's just really chaotic while doing so and makes a MESS, but it tastes really good. it becomes a habit for him to always cook and bake for you. but he won't bake for anyone else (unless it's sae).

KUNIGAMI RENSUKE ‧₊˚ ⊹ : always buys himself comfy shirts or shirts with a design you might like because he knows you'll end up wearing them. and because you are (probably) shorter and less buff than him, it basically looks like a dress on you. also does your eyeliner because he notices how much you struggle with it. runs his fingers through your locks all the time not matter what. if your laying next to him, sitting on his lap or simply standing it dosent matter.

ITOSHI SAE ‧₊˚ ⊹ : has a habit of always looking up at the stands after scoring a goal. always searching for you to see you give him a thumbs up or clapping while jumping up and down. also kisses the ring you gave him on his birthday years ago, that he now puts on a chain so he dosent not lose it. (goes FERAL if it breaks.)

BACHIRA MEGURU ‧₊˚ ⊹ : has a habit of always writing your name and surrounding it with small hearts and stars on any surface he can draw on. also has a habit of sketching you lazily or drawing you like the mona lisa as a method of breaking his art block. (since he canonically likes drawing, i think.)

CHIGIRI HYOMA ‧₊˚ ⊹ : has a habit of buying you matching things all the time. whether it's hair ties, socks, bracelets, earrings, outfits, hair dryers?? anything, and i mean ANYTHING.
