I've been having a lot of trouble with food lately. A combination of stress exacerbating my executive function issues and my new dietary restrictions exacerbating my food issues.
My wife was helping me brainstorm solutions. One of the things that came up was a semi-joke post about savory sandwiches done in aspic instead of bread. And I was like..."well I'm maybe a little high but I wouldn't say no to savory jello with salami and a pickle in it."
And we talked a bit more and then she said "well, we could try just making plain gelatin with chicken broth..."
And I said "chicken flavored jello?! That would be the perfect food! It would be like eating food without all the problems of food."
And then I laughed. Cause anybody ever thought I wasn't autistic. I'd eat chicken jello with vitamins in it forever. Please and thank you.

34,000 deaths is clearly an appalling undercount when watchdog groups learn about mass graves like this every week.

the world would literally be a better place if cis people could just get trans surgeries "by mistake" rather than forcing trans people to jump through ten million hoops to get it.

Does anyone else unironically love audio descriptions on their media?
I probably confuse all the algorithms because I always watch with captions on, and about half the time I'm watching with audio description, if the show offers it. It's like an audiobook with pictures. And yes, that's different than just watching a show.
I wish more shows had audio description.

Ok. This is gonna be a rambly, high sci-fi post.
I'm watching Star Trek: The Next Generation S4E4.
The adoption one. If it's not known as that already it should be.
Jono/Jeremiah is struggling with his relationships. His adoptive father clearly cares a lot for him, and Jono cares in return. But also his genetic family wants to meet him.
So have both! Jesus christ it's so simple. This is Jono, he's your grandson.
Hi grandma. Would you like to hear about the sports tournament I won?
...[conversation ensues]
What a wonderful visit. I'm going home with Jono to Talarian space now because that's where he lives.
And that's totally not a metaphor for how open adoption helps everyone.
Why do we make this so hard?

terfs are so obsessed with the idea that “the left” doesnt care about women they’ll literally day “including trans men, a group who is literally a victim of roe v wade and has high rates of sexual assault/forced pregnancy, in our activism is so threatening to me that i’ll make up a scenario where trans men are erasing womanhood”

If a worker who isn't the owner says ANYTHING similar to "I'm not really supposed to do this but-" and then does something that helps you, under no circumstances inform the business, including through reviews. You tell them that the worker was polite, professional, the very model of customer service and why you like to go there. You do not breathe a word of the rulebreaking.

It's like the Surgeons who do top surgery. Like if you work in anesthesia or OR nursing for a breast clinic - your job is like 90% people afraid they are dying of cancer and like 10% short weird guys/mascs in button-downs practically flinging themselves at the operating table.
There's a pharmacy where the LGBTQ+ focused clinic I go to sends all their patients to pick up their HRT and I can't help but wonder what working there is like. I imagine getting medicine isn't usually a happy experience for most people, since that happens mostly when you're sick. So I imagine this pharmacy sees a lot more happy people grinning ear to ear than most. I imagine the pharmacists there see a lot of that joy. Idk, just thinking about that makes me happy.

Even if I didn’t have a solid plan, in the back of my head, I always assumed I’d kill myself.
Now I’m an adult and people my age have their lives in order and I’m stuck here, confused, because I never planned to be alive and I’m so far behind.
I feel like I’ll never catch up.

JK Rowling decided to continue denying Nazi persecution of trans people, so I updated the list to 55 names I could personally confirm the status of. Added some new colorized photos, too! This is only a fraction of 160+ known trans individuals located by activist Jako Wende, which itself is a fraction of the true scope of anti-trans persecution during the Third Reich. Check it out: http://elierlick.com/transholocaust/
