The year of the Dragon is officially here, so instead of the artwork I originally intended to post I share these two small postcards =3

Made those like... god knows how long ago (one can clearly notice that), but never got to color the second one until now. Sent to friends as New Year congratulations~

Recently I took part in a fun challenge dedicated to retro-anime. x))

The task was to draw a fanart for any title released on a specific year (assigned by randomizer). I got 1992. The temptation to do Sailor Moon something was pretty bad (the TV-series apparently started airing this year), considering it was my first fandom ever and all. Still I decided that a challenge is supposed to be a challenge, so I picked a title I haven't heard of before "Uchida Shungiku no Noroi no One-piece" (Story of a cused dress). It's basically a compilation of 3 short episodes about 10 minutes each, but personally I liked the 3d one best, so the character is from thisstory. =))

P.S. It's a horror story as one may notice, so be aware if you'd like to watch. Frankly though it's unlikely to scare, I believe. I wasn't afraid, and I'm a scaredy cat XD P.P.S. I kind of referenced an etching by Katsushika Hokusai called "The Amida Falls in the Far Reaches of the Kisokaidō Road" for this one too.

Did you know that “Mysterious boy” of 7 stories actually has a name? Me neither. XD 

But my friends told me that he indeed has one.

His name is ‘Preces’ (as in Christian liturgical worship, preces are short petitions that are said or sung as versicles and responses by the officiant and congregation respectively. It is one of the oldest forms of prayer, rooted in the pre-Christian Hebrew prayers of the Psalms used in Temple worship). So, basically he’s ‘a prayer for something’. It goes well with the fact that he had actually made Sukuna’s wish come true.

Anyway if you’re into K, outside of writing a letter to Santa you can try asking Preces for some holiday miracle. ;)  Made as a joke, but well... Who wouldn’t want a miracle these days?

🎃 Happy late Halloween! 🎃 This time around it’s not even late because of me failing the deadline, rather it was made for a contest, so I was like.. one day early, but couldn’t upload it till the event was over. It actually has two names. Originally I planned “Halloween of the Shadowborn”, but went with “Halloween gate” for the contest, because it has less dark vibe. XD

For last year ‘Zilantkon’ I intended to take part in art competition for mascot drawing, but failed the deadline. This year, after the event is over, I think it’s time to finally upload it here at least. Great serpent Zilant is a mythical creature and a symbol of my city.

2) As any other language Japanese has phrases meant for love confessions, but the most common “I love you”-line is not as frequent there as one might think. One of the “synonyms” for ILU-phrase in Japan is “The Moon is especially beautiful today”. For a foreigner it wouldn’t be easy to deduce its hidden meaning. Such veiled confessions became popular due to Natsume Soseki (a Japanese writer that left a big impact on the modern Japanese literature), who passionately tried to convice everyone that english “I love you” is correctly translated as “The Moon is beatiful”.

Refers back to that K-Ranbu crossover I made in 2017 as some may guess  XD Technically it’s a headcanon that if a sword is seriously damaged (or bless god needs to be reforged (it’s impossible for katanas, but Scepter4 are sabers, so..) his memory and self-perception may be altered for unspecified period of time. 

This is ‘shrunk’ Munakata teen-saber ‘In Gold’ bearing an imprint of Saniwa powers right after repair. (So basically he has no recollections on his previous owner and his fighting ability also suffered, because he lacks ‘memories’ and experience connected to them as well.)

Happy Never After was made in 2021.

It’s a tribute to season 2, where Munakata was apparently expecting to die, and imho no one focused too much on how he probably had been feeling throughout that year that passed after Suoh’s death and the time when he considered, he’d meet his own demise.

  It’s a sad one, I know.  Not necessary to view it as a romantic kind of thing, but it may be if you prefer it this way.

Cakes are expensive in Japan, so as an alternative people could buy Christmas basket in KFC XD 2) School graduation traditions in Japan There's a tradition (among boys) of presenting the 2d button of one's uniform to the person you like. "Gakuran" is the name of traditional male uniform. 3) New Year traditions in Japan New Year is a family holiday celebrated from December, 31 to January, 1. Parents (or Grandparents) tend to give children "otoshidama" (new year treasure) - a coin in the envelope - for good luck. Well, in recent years the envelope may contain more substancial sum as well
