“Yes. Yes. Yes. Let's finish this quickly…” She said with a tired sigh.
Iseult wanted nothing more than to go home and never interact with him again. She had a strong suspicion that he went very far into her world. It wouldn't be surprising if he only lasted a few days or even a week if he was good at camouflaging himself.
Iseult just hopes she won't get into too much trouble because of him. At worst, she'll say he threatened her. It's not a lie per se. It's the truth. He might have said it casually, but it was still a veiled threat.
“Where do we start?” She crosses her arms under her chest.

“All right, let's finish this.” She mumbles. “Let's make this quick, archmage.”
Iseult is really starting to tire of this situation. She just wants to get out of here and go home. She has a sneaking suspicion that, once she's back in her own world, she won't be surprised if this archmage does it.

He notes his passive-aggressive behavior, but makes no comment. It's hard, but Maxwell refrains from punching him in the face. It's very tempting, but he holds back. He has no desire to have to justify his gesture by saying: “This guy's busting my balls.” No. He has to remain professional and focused on his investigation - that's the most important thing.
So Maxwell keeps a close eye on what he says, noting down everything to sort out later what seems most interesting. He also keeps a close eye on his behavior to unravel anything that might make him guilty or not.
“It might concern you if we find her and she accuses you. Or if she's no longer with us and the evidence points to your guilt.” He says, forcing himself to be as polite as possible. “Even if it doesn't seem to concern you at the moment, I'd advise you to remain on your guard.”
Is this a threat in disguise? Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Or is it simply an advertisement on his part. In any case, Maxwell sincerely hopes he had nothing to do with the disappearance. Because it would be hard to get him to spill the beans. But for now, he has other witnesses to question.

Maxwell had expected more disdain from him, even a refusal to answer his questions. He raises an eyebrow in surprise before lowering it just as quickly. He prefers not to comment on whether she's his type or not. He's got more important things to do, like gathering as much information as possible, but above all he really wants to get away from him.
"I see," he puts the portrait away and takes out a small notebook and a pencil. And when exactly did you see him? How did she look? Weird? Hurt? Was she wearing anything in particular? Was she with anyone? I need as much information as possible, she disappeared at the beginning of the week."
Even information that might seem insignificant could be precious to him. So it's been five days since she's been seen. And Maxwell understands his mother's sense of anxiety. He's a parent too.

There was a reason why the archmage of her world wouldn't do this sort of thing. Who'd want to live in a fractured, corrupt world? Not to Iseult's taste, but not at all.
The priestess clenches her fists, even if her passive face, his words don't leave her unmoved. She wishes she could put him in his place. Tell him he's wrong about her archmage being a very gifted man. But she doubts she'd listen without criticism. So Iseult prefers to keep it all to herself.
Iseult feels a shiver run down her spine. She doesn't like that little smirk; it's no good.
"How do you expect me to accept if you threaten me like that…" She says. "You're going to try to hurt me whether I help you or not."
Maybe it was a bluff, but she'd rather be sure.
