Posting Instructions
Hey everyone!
Firstly, this is your reminder that all works are due in one week! If you find yourself with the need for an extension or to drop out, please let us know as soon as possible.
Secondly, here's a quick guide on how to post your work in case you need it:
1. Go to the Regulus Black Fest 2024 Collection on AO3.
2. Click on the button in the top right corner saying "Post to Collection," and fill the rest of the information in as usual. Alternatively, you can also manually fill in the collection in the "Post New Work" set up. Just make sure that you have the 2024 collection.
Your work will automatically stay unrevealed and anonymous until we reveal it over the course of posting. Please do not add your work to a series of yours yet - while the fic will display as anonymous, the link to your series will be visible and reveal you before we reveal the authors. You are more than welcome to add your fic to any series or collection of yours once authors are revealed.
As a side-note: AO3 dates your work to the day you post it to the collection. On the day your work is revealed by us, you’re welcome to change it to the actual date, so your work will show up at the top of the tag. We will send out a schedule before posting starts, so that you'll know when your work is going to be posted. You do not need to add the mods as a co-creator!
Most importantly: once you've posted your work to AO3, please send us an email to [email protected] with the following header:

Claiming Open!
The time to claim your prompt is finally here!
A few things before you get to it:
Please list three prompts in order of preference, in case your first pick is already taken. Claiming is on a first come, first serve basis, and each prompt can be claimed only once for fic, and once for art.
Please submit an email-address you check regularly. After you’ve submitted your claim, we will send you a confirmation of your prompt, and (if you are over the age of 18) an invite to the Discord Server for the fest. You’re not obligated to join, but we’d be happy to see you there. If you don’t receive an email from us within 48 hours of claiming and have checked your spam folder, please let us know through a message here or at [email protected] (Please provide the username you’ve signed up with when contacting us, it makes it easier to check for any issues.)
As this is not a gift-exchange, you’re not required to stick to all the details of the prompt, but if the pairing or general tropes are not your cup of tea, please consider self-prompting instead.
On that note: If you’re self-prompting, you still need to sign up! There’s an option in the claiming form to do so.
If you’re collaborating with another author or artist, please provide both your email-addresses and usernames, so we can send both of you a confirmation and a Discord invite.
You’re welcome to claim a second prompt, once you have submitted your completed work for your first claim to our AO3-collection. We will post more information on posting further down the line.
Keep in mind that this fest is anonymous! As such, please keep your prompt a secret until creators are revealed once posting finishes.
All submissions are due on April 28th!
Last but not least–if you need an extension or to drop out, that’s fine! Life happens. We’re only asking you to let us know as soon as possible, so that we can plan the posting-period as best as possible.

Hi all! Thank you for organizing this fest :). I've never done a fest before and I was excited to read all of the great prompts.
One quick question! I noticed that Prompt #40 and Prompt #41 on the list are the same. Is this an accidental duplicate, or was one of them meant to be something different? (Just wanted to check before choosing my favorites in case there was an extra prompt out there.)

also! not to blow up your ask box, but if i wanted to write a longfic with separate volumes, would i be able to write one volume for the fest and continue the rest afterwards? it would have a definite ending, and if it would be easier for you if i put each volume into a collection rather than into one fic, i’m happy to do so. if not, that’s totally fine! just an idea i had
Heya, no worries! That kind of depends - if you mean like a series where the first fic is finished and can stand on its own, that's fine! The sequels wouldn't be part of the fest or its collection then, though.
