Doom: The Lost Episode - Doom, January 2009

This project's aim is to bring the official and relatively obscure console-exclusive maps together in a single playable episode. Maps consist of levels from PSXDoom, Jaguar Doom, and the Doom Alphas, re-mastered in a surreal yet fitting "neo-classic" style.

Great effort has been made to preserve the flow of the existing playable maps (PSX maps mostly), though a few in particular are heavily modified for purposes of gameplay or aesthetics. The Alpha maps in particular have changed drastically, but only for the purpose of "completing" what was originally an unfinished map. There is also one mostly-original map, though it does bear some striking similarities to Spawning Vats.

Though many oldschool doomers may not view earlier renditions of these maps (i.e. Kaiser's excellent Consoledoom.wad) as "canon" in the Doom universe, this project is designed specifically to preserve the look and feel of these maps in a format that will sit side-by-side with the original four iD episodes. We hope you will view this project as not just an add-on episode, but the fifth chapter in the Ultimate Doom universe.

A-Bidenic - Doom II, October 2021

This one is a sequel to "Anti-Zuckerbergism". This time, the map is about our president, Joe Biden (titled "A-Bidenic", meaning "anti-Biden" or "against Joe Biden"). Since he has been doing a lousy job as president of the United States as you can see stuff going on in terms of what he has done, I made a map based on people's dislike against him. Throughout the course of this map, you will encounter a bunch of Joe Biden memes inside a Wolfenstein environment. Just like my previous Wolfenstein-style map, you will be dealing with robo-Hitlers. Anti-Zuckerbergism - Doom II, September 2021

Are you a boomer who is fed up with Mark Zuckerberg's insane policies where you could post anything and get banned? I am no different than anyone else out there. I have a map that is based on all of the stuff that Facebook users have to go through. The map is titled "Anti-Zuckerbergism". It is a Wolfenstein-style map that consists of Mark Zuckerberg memes expressing how you get banned and Mechahitlers (ones who represent the Facebook police. Just a word of caution that they are dangerous. They will take you out in a matter of a second unless you take appropriate measures). After taking out all of the machines, you go outside the building to pull the switch that would blow up the Zuckerberg building. Feminist Nerevarine - The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, May 2023

In some Morrowind quests where there was a conflict between a man and a woman, you didn't have the opportunity to side with the woman. In other quests, a woman required something from you, and if you wanted to refuse it, the game forced you to do so in a rude manner. And there were also quests where a man overstepped the boundaries of a woman, and you didn't have the opportunity to refuse helping him.

This mod fixes that and provides you the opportunity to side with women in quests where you couldn't do it previously, to refuse helping women in a polite manner, without humiliating them, and to refuse helping men who overstep the boundaries of women and even scold them for their plans. It's important to note that every vanilla choice is kept intact by this mod, so you don't lose any content by installing it, you merely gain new roleplay opportunities and choices on top of the already-existing ones.

doom-teletext - Doom, May 2023

doom-teletext generates a teletext stream that contains rendering of the famous first-person shooter game DOOM from 1993. The generated data can be piped to applications that process teletext packet streams, either to send it to real TVs or to decode and display teletext pages on a computer.

Tele...what? Teletext is a standard for displaying (simple mosaic) graphics and text on TVs. The data to display is contained in the broadcast signal, hidden in the invisible vertical blanking interval area. Teletext was broadcast for the first time in 1974 and still is in many countries, mainly in Europe. A teletext page consists of 25 rows that can hold 40 characters each, while some characters are not displayable but hold information like text color of subsequent characters of the same line. If you want to learn more about this technology, the Wikipedia page is a good starting point, for detailed technical documentation this teletext specifications document is the way to go.

Since teletext is based on unidirectional data transmission, it is not possible to actually run DOOM in teletext. However, running the original game on some device that also generates a teletext page which holds the scene is just as fine. The packages sent by doom-teletext hold the teletext rendering of the current game frame, as well as a status bar that informs about the current state of the player. In detail, the status bar shows information like owned weapons, ammunition, health status, and a graphical representation of the protagonist's face. Also the whole game menu was rebuilt for rendering in teletext.

Long COVID Mode - The Witcher 3, May 2023

Long COVID Mode is a mod created to shed light on how an estimated 65+ million Long COVID patients worldwide are living life on a whole new level of difficulty. Based on the experiences of the patients from the NGO, Long COVID Europe, this mod turns real Long COVID symptoms into in-game effects.

How does it affect the world of the Witcher?

Long COVID Mode introduces four stages of exertion to the game – EX1 (Fatigue), EX2 (Exhaustion), EX3 (Myalgia) and EX4 (PEM).  With each stage, the intensity of your symptoms increases exponentially, with EX4 being Post-Exertional Malaise (PEM)  where all symptoms are at their peak.

Compromised stamina and vitality:  Stamina drains faster and regenerates slower with each stage. Health starts to drain at EX3 to a lowered maximum.

Exertion Intolerance: Exertion intolerance is a major symptom in debilitating conditions like Long COVID and ME/CFS.  It puts an invisible limit on every patient’s ability to perform any kind of physical, mental, or emotional effort.  Every time stamina reaches zero, you will suffer from Exertional Intolerance – depicted as a disorienting flash of  light that stuns you for 1-2 seconds. In later stages of exertion, this occurs repeatedly as stamina drain is faster.

Compromised lungs:  Holding your breath under water becomes more difficult with every stage.  Specifically, air drain is 2X faster during EX2, 3X faster during EX3 and 4X faster during EX4. 

Indigestion:  Kicks in once you are beyond EX1 and occurs more often in later stages.  This causes food to drain health instead of regenerating it. 

Brain Fog (Cognitive Dysfunction):  At the EX3 stage, brain fog starts clouding your Witcher senses.  At EX4, it completely disables your Witcher senses.

Reduced concentration:  Your crossbow shooting and bomb throwing accuracy get affected in EX4.

Losing track of time:  In the later stages, meditating makes you lose track of time.  You finish earlier or overshoot your desired down time and return just as exhausted as you were at the beginning.

Weak memory:  During EX4, you start leaving things behind.  Every time you access your inventory, one random item will get dropped.

WELCOME TO A WORLD OF EXERTION

Be ready to go through your day with limited energy and as little life force as possible. There will be a chance of exertion intolerance kicking in every time you move (denoted by the battery icon). If you don’t stand still for a while, it will evolve to exertion with dizziness. If you still don’t stop moving, it will result in Post-Exertion Malaise (PEM) which will drain you almost entirely.

OTHER LONG COVID SYMPTOMS

Cognitive dysfunction a.k.a Brain Fog:

Lowered concentration – You will mine ores inefficiently and end up only with the stone from those blocks.

Losing track of time – Occasionally, time will pass without you realising.

Weak memory – You will leave things behind without realising.

Reduced focus – Hitting your target with a bow will become extremely difficult.

Shortness of breath – Many quick moments will leave you immobile for 2.5-5 seconds.

Digestive problems – Sometimes, even eating will hurt.

Compromised lungs – Underwater expeditions will get a whole lot tougher.

Insomnia – You will lie awake in bed for longer.

Bad sleep – You might wake up several times in the middle of the night and feel more exhausted in the morning.

How does it affect the Tarnished? It is a common misconception that Long COVID is just heightened fatigue. More than 200 symptoms with impacts on multiple organ systems have been identified among Long COVID patients. Long COVID Mode shines a light on few of these through your Tarnished. Occasionally, you will suffer from one of the following symptoms: Exertion Intolerance: Sometimes, you are made to take a break for 3-5 seconds. Blackouts: Your vision fades, leaving you confused. Losing Track of Time: Time passes without you noticing. Weak Memory: You lose a random number of your runes. Indigestion: Healing might hurt you instead of regenerating you. Post-exertion Malaise (PEM): You feel immensely drained and get stunned for a few seconds.

Passive/always-active symptoms include the following effects:

Fatigue: All movements are 25% slower. Exhaustion: Your stamina regeneration in combat is much slower. Cognitive Dysfunction: Hitting targets with spells and arrows becomes much harder. Joint Pain: Using charged attacks hurts you. Unsatisfying Rest: Getting up from Sites of Grace takes longer.
