I’m getting chills every time Odysseus speculates about if his adversaries also feel the same crushing guilt and grief he feels. Put in context with the rest of the song, he’s the most humane out of them and wonders if maybe that’s the issue, if maybe being human is what’s wrong.
Also the order in which he lists them??
Cyclops, Circe, Poseidon and then him??
The first three build up in power and strength:
Cyclops: physically strong
Circe: magically strong
Poseidon: the fucking god of the ocean
All stronger than the last, all more dangerous than the last, all more monstrous in their actions than the last.
And then the last one is the soldier with the wooden horse. Odysseus.
By this trend the strongest, the most dangerous, the most monstrous is Odysseus.
Odysseus thinks that tricking an enemies city into getting infiltrated and slaughtered is more monstrous than sinking a whole fleet cause they disrespected you.

And I’m here, in bed, thinking about an AU where before Roy meets Preston in person he “meets” him as the Voice of Radio Freedom. A comforting faceless somebody, kind and friendly and optimistic, who keeps Roy company while he wanders the wastelands trying to figure out just wtf is going on in the world.
