So, I’ve wanted to learn to draw for a while, and it’s been a bit since I’ve even attempted to draw but, I need those lovely CAS hours so might as well.
I tried to draw Jester, and while it’s not the best, I’m pretry proud of how it turned out. It’s been like, 2 years since I’ve drawn anything, and I never attempted people (tiefling is close enough) so I thought I’d give myself a starting point. Let me know what you think of it!
I had a bit if difficulty with the hair and the lips, and I have such a hard time drawing symmetrically, but I think the horns turned out decent.

Things I learned after moving to Nova Scotia #2
Any plastic bag is a Sobeys bag. Doesn’t matter if it’s a bright yellow Giant Tiger bag or one that clearly says Walmart across it. It is a Sobeys bag.
Was a little confused the first time I heard this.
‘It’s in the Sobeys bag’
‘There’s a Superstore bag but no Sobeys bag...’
‘Yeah same thing’
‘NO, NO THEY ARE NOT THE SAME’
(ironically, Sobeys doesn’t give out plastic bags anymore)

So the other day I was in the ER for 8 hours (how long it took is a different story) with a kidney infection. I had felt a bit warmer so my mom thought I had a bit of a fever, and they made me put a mask on. Fine, whatever, at least they’re being careful. The only time they want you wearing a mask is if you have a new cough, sore throat, fever or have travelled or had contact with someone who travelled. It was annoying, but I understood. However, when they took my temperature, I didn’t even have a fever, yet I was still forced to wear the mask.
I was in there for a possible kidney infection, so they needed a urine sample. I didn’t really have to go so my mom suggested just having me chug a bottle of water. That was when a security guard (and I have NEVER seen security guards at our hospital before) was quick to jump in to tell me and my mom that since I was given a mask I absolutely could not take it off for anything. Irritating, but fine, I get it.
Then, later this younger boy walks in with an injured arm and both him and his mother are wearing masks. So an injured arm means no cough, sore throat or fever. And they were both super tan, and seeing as I live somewhere where it’s foggy ALL THE TIME I figure they must have been travelling. In my province we had no new cases since June 9th for awhile, bit just had more cases popping up because of some idiot travelling internationally that got let on to a domestic flight.
I wouldn’t have minded that they had travelled outside, BUT THE KID WOULDNT KEEP HIS MASK ON. He was walking around the hall with it not covering his nose, he would sitting there with it on his chin, he would fling it around on his hand, and his mother was no better.
The security guard that I mentioned earlier kept walking through the waiting room and he would stare at me each time he went through, which kinda pissed me off. So I was constantly ‘going to the washroom’ so that I could take my mask off because as an asthmatic, wearing a mask for eight hours is not fun and I kept getting lightheaded. I also had to get my temperature re-taken because when we got to the ER I had just taken tylenol so they had to make sure that hadn’t made my temperature go down.
When I first got there, they told me to come back if I felt a fever coming on, but I’m not sure how I’m supposed to tell if I’m constantly blowing warm air on my face. After the second temperature reading, my temperature was actually lower than it was when I got to the ER, yet I still had to keep the mask on. We got to the ER at 1:30, and I forgot to have lunch before and left at 9:30, so all I had to eat that day until 10 at night was one muffin.
But what was also bad about the ER is that not once did we see someone come around and sanitize things. No one cleaned the chairs, no one cleaned the bathroom, no one was even cleaning door handles. I had heard complaints about that from before there were cases in the province and just thought that once there were cases they would be more careful, but I guess not. Also, we got into an exam room at 9:33 and the doctor came in, examined me, and told me what was wrong and left by 9:36. WHAT WAS I IN THERE FOR 8 HOURS FOR WHEN IT LITERALLY TOOK 3 MINUTES AT THE MOST.
Whatever, at least it’s free healthcare?

Okay, I’m going on a rant right now, if you don’t want to read someone complaining stop reading this now.
Sometimes I wonder if my friends think I’m a literal idiot, even though hardly anything slips past me. Around December they stopped messaging the group chat which was weird cause they are constantly messaging at any time of the day. Then I find out they had a New Years party because the person’s house they had it at literally posted it on all their social media. Then when I confront them about it, they said they just thought that since I wasn’t all that into the holiday party, that I wouldn’t want to go to the New Years party. Except the fact that I was out all day on the day of the holiday party and had a splitting headache, but what do I know about my own enjoyment, right?
Then they’ll talk about stuff at school (important things like someone’s parents splitting up, or one of their parents cheating on the other one) and I only learn about it because I happen to be there when it’s mentioned and obviously question about it cause that’s HUGE.
Their also constantly posting pictures of them hanging out together when they don’t bother to invite me. And I understand they don’t need to invite me to everything, but since our province has eased restrictions they’re constantly hanging out.
The day after I saw one of the pictures of them hanging out, I ran into one of my friends at her work and she kept saying how she missed me and it was so good to see me again. WELL IF THAT’S THE CASE WHY DON’T YOU INVITE ME PLACES. I also never talk to anyone from my group unless I message them first, or I am in a groupchat.
This bring me to what happened to start this rant. Today I was standing out on the patio of the coffee shop my mom works at when I see one of my friends walking by. She’s the one I’m closest with because she’s in nearly all of my classes and she’s been in the same situation with our group that I’m in. I realize they’re doing this to me cause I watched them do it to her because they didn’t like her boyfriend and felt that she spent too much time with him (stupid I know, and I told her about what was happening because I felt it wasn’t fair to her and I didn’t feel like they should expect me to lie to her about certain things).
Okay, went off on a tangent there. So I see my friend walking by and I haven’t seen her since March. I call her name and she comes running up to me hugs me. We talk for a bit and she says she just got babysitting and was out for a walk, which I found weird she was just out for a walk cause she has a big backpack with her but whatever, I don’t question it. Then after a few minutes she’s just like ‘Yeah, I have to continue my walk’. Which is weird cause it’s just a walk, like what is the rush? I used to see you every day and we haven’t seen eachother in like 3 months. But whatever, we have to go to my brother’s graduation soon anyways so I don’t really question it.
Then, later in the evening I see my friend whose house we usually go to for sleepovers has a video and in the corner I can just see someone’s shoulder and hair, but I know it’s my friend that I saw earlier today BECAUSE WE WERE TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH HER HAIR WAS ANNOYING HER AND HOW SHE WANTED TO CUT IT OFF SO BAD.
(Also, we have a Life 360 circle and everyone who has their location turned on is all at the same house right now)
So I’m just a little pissed off at my friends right now cause, well I feel like I made that obvious.
On a lighter note, one of the VPs at my school just woke my mom up at 11pm for the quarantine SafeGrad that my mom entered my brother into cause she knew he wouldn’t do it himself. I have never seen an 18yo so grouchy when given free McDonalds

Alright, as an IB student at the end of their first year, I need to rant right now.
If you don’t know what IB is, it stand for International Baccalaureate. It’s an international program that is taught around the world. We have advanced classes and extra requirements for our diploma. Depending on the university, and depending on your grade, you can get university credits for your courses.
Your grade for IB in each class is slightly different, but mostly follows this:
In each class you have to do an IA (internal assessment) that is worth 20% of your overall grade.
Your exams depend on your level of the course, SL (standard level) courses have 2 exams each worth 40% of your grade.
HL (higher level) courses you have 3 exam, worth about 30%, 30% and 20% (the pecentages might not be accurate, but you get the idea.
So, your mark that depends on whether you graduate or not, 80% of it comes from exams that you take throughout May. Obviously, due to the current circumstances, there were some issues with how exams were going to happen as many school were closed. So the IBO decided to just CANCEL exams for the graduating class, taking predicted grades and IA grades as there mark.
So, what happens to the grade 11s? Obviously, if the grade 12s had to have alterations because of restrictions and reduced class time, there would be alterations to the requirements, right?
WRONG. I have found out today from my IB coordinator that there are no alterations to our requirements, and we have to learn all the material we would have to anyways in a regular school year.
So the grade 12s don’t have to do the one (not exactly one, but the most important) thing you are taught trained to do throughout all of your time with IB, and in some cases this also includes grade 10 Pre-IB courses, but the grade 11s have to continue on like it’s a normal school year after missing THREE AND A HALF MONTHS. The grade 11s miss nearly a third of our school year, and are expected to still have covered all of the material needed.
Sure, we have online learning, and classes have continued online, but it’s not the same. As well, where I live, schools are finishing online learning on June 5th, on Friday, leaving our teachers rushing to figure out where we should be compared to where we actually are, and rushing to put together work for us to do over the summer.
I just don’t understand how the IBO is fine with making such drastic changes to how the grade 12s year went, and then changing nothing for the grade 11s.
edit: I was wrong, SL and HL don’t affect how many exams you take. I saw my exam schedule today and I actually have 17 exams, not 15

As much as elementary and middle school sucked, seeing as I never really had any real friends. and I was happy to get away and start over from moving, high school’s not much better. At least back then I knew who liked me and who didn’t like me. Now I can never tell if someone does or doesn’t like me cause most highschool girls in my town are two faced.
Whoever said highschool is the best days of your life better have been lying, otherwise the rest of my life is looking pretty terrible.
