So I kind of forgot about screens being way brighter than normal, thus throwing off colour balance and stuff. (And set it to CMYK, which was rectified on the right hand side).
God these are way too dark. Any tips on how to correct this so I can at least see the bokeh in the background, and glows properly?

Relaxed and analytical rambling about the Equestria Girls movie after the break!
So the fact that EQG is going to be set in a High School has gotten people up in arms.
Really? Because I honestly don't think that it's that big of a deal. Bear in mind that only Twilight has been humanised in this movie, and the rest are humans that resemble the other ponies. It's an alternate universe, kind of a reversal of Human in Equestria fiction.
A fair reason that people might not like the idea of a High School setting is that in the show... The ponies have careers and are largely independent (with one or two exceptions), whilst High School seems to nullify that idea altogether.
Strangely enough, this is a bit of a draw for me. When you work it out, the characters in FiM are around about 15-16 years old by the start of the show, give or take. This alone shows a massive change in how human and pony society works in our respective worlds.
Here's a video that analyses this, and other differences in society (such as schooling).
So why does this interest me? Because I will find it fun to compare, and it might open up a lot of conflict where Twilight will be so unused to the idea of someone her age still being at High School. Hell, there's already some footage of her getting used to being a human (her eating that apple in the trailer made me giggle far more than it had any right to).
Also any changes to the characters themselves will be interesting to see, seeing as they've grown up in a vastly different society, with possibly different societal values.
So, when I do see this movie, I'll be going in thinking "What would my favourite characters be like if they grew up as humans?" rather than "Oh god they're ruining <insert best pony here>!"
That is, there are some things I feel deserving of criticism. The art style, for one... It does look a bit wooden and cookie-cutter at times, but with the likelihood of them basing the cartoon off of possible Monster-High/Bratz-ish merchandise, I'm giving DHX the benefit of the doubt on that one. I'd love to see a more fluid and even better styled animation, but honestly I don't know what the budgeting and time constraints were, as those could be factors that affected the quality.
I'm glad that they ditched the wings and cutie mark idea, and let them have human ears. This way it's only the hair and skin colour carried over (which I don't mind, as it will stop a ton of drama in the long run. Can you imagine what would happen if a pony had a different skin colour than people expect? Jesus...)
And I think I'll wrap this ramble up with the love-interest-boy-character-dude person. Who looks suspiciously like Shining Armor.
Maybe he acts as a brother figure, maybe he's someone different and Twilight develops a crush on him... Who can tell?
If Twilight DOES develop a crush, there's still no reason to get angry if your head-canon has her shipped with someone NOT male. Remember, Rarity is the only one who's actually shown interest in the opposite sex, and yet this hasn't stopped the huge amount of RariJack shipping I've seen in my time.
So yeah, even if the movie isn't that great, don't get so angry about it. It won't destroy the show, and the fandom WILL survive (hell, countless crap films from Star Wars and Star Trek have failed to take their fandoms down).
tl;dr, It's an alternative universe, so don't get so worked up about it.
