For some reason, the fandom can forgive Shigaraki who (before being controlled by AFO mind you) killed hundreds of people for the crime of... Being in a cult (cults that yanno, brainwash and take advantage of poor people who don't know any better!) and trying to stop him from murdering more people. (A cult that then merged with the LOV, ironic). People seriously want the canonical ecoterrorist and mass murderer to get redemption, the same guy who wanted Toga and Mr. Compress to steal Eri during the Shie Hassaikai raid so THEY could make the quirk erasing drugs just like Overhaul did! Shigaraki literally wanted to use Eri for the exact same thing as Overhaul and yet people forget that a lot!!!!!! Even though that was actually in the anime!! It was animated! How are people so STUPID?

All I'm saying is, Shigaraki has done far worse things (BEFORE being literally controlled by AFO, because some people try to use that thing that happened relatively recently in order to excuse ALL his actions) than Overhaul. Overhaul killed three people on screen, one of which was accidental while the other was a self-sacrifice for Chisaki, and accidentally misgendered a woman (which is apparently somehow a crime to these people?! Dude even Hori has forgotten about Magne since her death!) and abused Eri. AFO abused and groomed Tenko and yet I NEVER saw or have seen AFO fans get harassed as badly as Overhaul fans, especially back in the day. Overhaul fans went through HELL.

I could go on, I could absolutely go on, but honestly... It's best to just remember that there are people out there who are insane about Overhaul too, and that you should just avoid every other kinda of BNHA fandom member. Only hang out with the anti-harassment/profic villain-likers and you will be SAFE, I promise you that.

Selfshipping can be destructive.

This TikTok randomly showed up on my fyp but I am genuinely convinced this is like 80% of english yumejoshi, like actually they need mental help (at least this videos caption said that they are self aware it's harming them!)

So many selfshippers are so awful and almost like, harming themselves with the way they think they "own" fictional characters or that the fictional character belongs "only to them."

"doubles DNI!" "If you selfship with insert character then block me!" "I'm not sharing my yume!" "My f/o would NEVER do this thing or love someone else but me!" It's a fictional character, you need to stop taking it so seriously right now before you actually, genuinely delude yourself.

And if you are already delusional? (And I don't mean in the joking lighthearted way) You need to get professional help. Or at the very least you need to get off of social media for a while so you can work on yourself.

If you know a selfshipper who is actively letting their selfship/yumeship negatively affect them and their lives and their mental health, it's my suggestion that, as their friend, you need to talk to them before they hurt themselves more. Because they ARE hurting themselves.

In particular, currently I'm working on a P4AU somnophiliac Ken fic, and I've written stuff about Kieran (Pokemon) and various other characters aged like 13-17 before! Don't get me wrong though, Reader (regardless of their age in the fic) is the victim typically, the one being groomed or abused or assaulted, that sorta thing... Ehe...

I really don't care what anyone sexualizes unless it's based off an actual IRL kid. That's when it's too fucking far and that person needs to be stopped immediately. (As a popular example: shadman! Or a less popular example... That person from Twitter who was drawing the kid from Terminator in sexual situations while basing the kid off of his IRL minor actor...)

Though I do know of antis who are 'okay' with sexualizing 15-17 year old characters but harass people who draw any character younger... Which is so silly, characters ages really don't matter at all; if their appearance is attractive to you, sexualize them, or don't, I don't care.

As a personal example... I am uncomfortable with sexualizing characters under age 13, such as 10 year old Ken from P3. However, his older version from P4AU? I'm perfectly comfortable sexualizing. It's just a preference, and there's nothing wrong with that!

By the way, how old do you think this second older version of him is? If you guessed 17-19, you are wrong. He is 13/14 years old. But the anime style of art certainly doesn't convey that, that's cause... Fictional character ages never make sense.

Just remember, it's always fine to have a line of comfortability when sexualizing characters, but that doesn't give you a right to shake people who do or don't sexualize that character like you do!
