Ripper: "How much longer do we have to wait?"
Zarana: Yeah! How much longer do we have to sit in this dingy ol' warehouse?"
Zartan: "Until the other Dreadnoks show up, dear sister!"
Buzzer: "I don't think I like the way these tin cans are glowing."
Zartan: You're not paid to think. Ignore them, Buzzer."

In action today is FansToys FT-57 Tube or their take on a Transformers Masterpiece Pipes!
Tube is packaged in robot mode out of the box.
Once again, FansToys goes for that G1 toon look with very clean looking robot and truck modes.
Tube is mainly done in blue with sharp looking paint apps! Although the thighs, arms, and the front grill of the truck are mainly done in silver, the silver has a more of a champagne colored tint to it. Interesting color choice, but this sort of deviates from the toon look a bit that FansToys usually tries to duplicate. It still looks nice on the figure.
Articulation is pretty standard for a MP style figure, so Tube can get into a number poses.
One thing that I did appreciate was the shoulder articulation. The tires from the truck mode sit on top of the shoulders in robot mode, which can hinder the movement, however the tires can be shifted out of the way on a hinge, which frees up the shoulders for greater movement.
Tube also has decently ranging ab crunch to get even more dynamic poses.
The figure has several face options including an alternate G1 toy head and two face plates with either red or blue eyes. The metallic paint used for the eyes just pop when you have light hitting them.
The other accessory that's included is the transformation cog for Metroplex, which is a nice little nod to the G1 episode, 'Five Faces of Darkness.'
The cog can rotate with a ratcheted feature when you turn it.
Transformation is very simple and was a breeze to get the figures into either mode.
I really liked the way the front of the truck folds in on itself, so Tube has less of the cab on his back in robot mode.
Quality control is usually top notch with FansToys , but I did find the right bicep swivel extremely loose. I was able to rectify it with some Pledge floor polish, but I heard other copies of Tube had similar issues.
One thing that really stood out with me regarding Tube:
When the season 3 Minibots started to hit toy shelves back in '86, it was pretty obvious that most of them were retools of previous minibots.
G1 Pipes utilized the G1 Huffer mold, so I was kind of expecting FansToys to retool their Rig figure to make Tube.
Color me surprised when Tube turned out to be a completely new mold.
While the vehicle modes have some similarities, they have completely different parts and transformations.
And they look good together too!
I also appreciate the "M" sculpted into the sides of the vehicle mode similar to their G1 counterparts, as a nod to the old Micro Change line.
Tube is another winner of a figure for me, so it definitely gets some high marks.
I picked mine up at The Chosen Prime . Currently, their Tube figure is sold out, but give them a check for your other FansToys needs!
On to pics, Primers! Starting with some vehicle mode pics!

Gorgo vs King Goji
The timing would have been right for these two to fight. Gorgo was released in '61, while King Kong vs. Godzilla was released in '62.
