..do you think we could play Jenga with the Stakataka...
I think it's the same as playing Jenga with a Nacli. But the Nacli hates you and the whole Jenga hates you and also the bricks weight 200 pounds. And you're on fire.

hey clay! you mentioned that you like claydol so i thought i would share
i work at a university that studies claydol variants! we have a whole bunch from around the world and work to try and learn more about them. i made sketches of my favourites
Tumblr media
Bert and Xochitl are from the same excavation site. we think they were made as guardians for their families - and the handprints on them is like a bonding mark for them so they can find their owners. We think bert was a generational claydol since he has many handprints.
hestia and kratos are two different types of claydol from the same geographic location. Hestia was recovered from a shipwreck. we think 'she' was a sort of navigator for ships - and was designed to travel overseas with cargo. kratos is very elaborate - and he linkes to float upside down and carry things. We think he is a servant claydol - as similar figures are drawn on him alongside humans.
ooc: claydol based on globular mesoamerican jars, and greek amphoras and kraters
Oh this is AMAZING and a great investigation work! We knew that Claydol took their Hoennian form from ancient figurines, so it makes sense they'd change depending on the cultures that made them. Are they all Ground-Psychic types or did they evolve differently? Are Baltoy also different??? I need to know everything about 'em!!

Hey, um, I gotta a question, I don’t know if you can answer but figured it was worth a shot…is it normal for Sylveon to be averse to “unholy”/deconsecrated ground?
<admittedly abnormally small, shiny Sylveon cowering behind a rock near what is clearly a VERY old cemetery>
Sylveons don't have a concept of holiness or... religion, but they have a concept of Ghost types. Lil' guy here is probably sensing bad energy in this place, probably a horde of Ghastly or even a Dusknoir nearby, so I'd recommend you get some Spelltags or make sure you have another 'mon ready to battle if things get ugly.

claydol my beloved-
Tumblr media
do you have any facts to share about claydol? (cant be bothered to be anonymous about this since silly gif)
I sure do! I love these weird fellas, and someday I'll go to Hoenn to see one of 'em in person.
A fact 'bout them is that they use the magnetic field to orient themselves, and they seem to be particularly sensitive to changes in said field, such as before an aurora. They can start orienting themselves in weird directions, and even going completely upside-down for a while
That behavior is not very well known, as a wild Claydol will never venture so far off a desert on its own, and catches ones are already prone to... weird behaviors anyway.

So, yesterday my Graveler found out, that people hug eachother to show affection. He hugged me so hard, he broke one of my ribs. I'm not sure what to do about it, as I neither want more broken ribs or to make him sad. What do I do?
As with other "behavioral" problems, positive reinforcement is your friend. It's gonna be hard for your Graveler to understand his own strength in comparison to a human, but you can work with him using treats and praise every time he shows affection in a... human-friendly way, like waving!
Make sure to stop him in his tracks and ball him once he starts trying to hug you or someone else again, he already hurt you and can very easily hurt a small 'mon or a kid if he tries again. He might be upset about it for a while, but it's better than an emergency visit to the 'mon center; and it's a good opportunity to remind him about the other ways to show affection as well!

//I'm gonna take this in good faith and assume you're also a neurodivergent person (like me!) making a joke, but I'm gonna be honest here, it doesn't land and makes me a bit uncomfortable. Don't do that

[Picture of a huge trevenant, at least trice the size of normal, with a pink bow placed on its forehead.]
Oh she's GORGEOUS and a big girl too! Amazing to see such a healthy and grown-up 'mon!

I found a weird lookin… gallade? it has a gardevoir skirt but it has the. gallade swords. I fought it but lost miserably so now I’m patching up my Pokémon nearby, but I still want to catch it. what is it??
p.s. I’m in unova. No idea how it got here. My pokemon have been going absolutely feral at it, too.
It.. might be many things? It could be an Iron Valiant, but if you didn't see anything particularly metal-like in their dress, it might be an intersex Gallade/Gardevoir, which sometimes can happen in the wild!
If it WAS an Iron Valiant (i'd reccomend a Goovle search or contact the Uva-Naranja academy directly), then someone had to bring it to Unova and then release it, which is... Not Good. Contact the Academy and/or the Rangers and try to stay out of it's way and be safe!

do ultra beasts attract other ultra beasts? I thought I heard that once, but maybe I’m thinking of fallers
They're pretty territorial, with the exception or Xurxitree, as far as it's known! The reason they appear together is because they travel through the same Ultraholes, although they usually scatter or fight for dominance as soon as they "land" here.
It seems like they attract each other 'cause once one arrives, it becomes pretty hard to close the rift, so other UBs start pouring in.

Can Dittos make the Pokédex misidentify them?
I’m pretty sure I caught a Sylveon the other day but they disappeared after a few days (I’m pretty sure that Team Skull is responsible) and I have a Ditto Infestation now. It’s gotten pretty bad and my other Pokemon are acting weirdly (probably because of the ditto).
I checked my Pokédex but it doesn’t say I’ve ever registered a Ditto, just a Sylveon.
Help
It's extremely rare that the 'Dex misidentifies a Ditto; scanning 'em is actually one of the ways to identify a wild one. Plus, unless your "Ditto" was able to lay a bunch of eggs without you noticing, it probably has nothing to do with the disappearance and something else is attracting the wild Dittos to your location. (It might be the presence of other Dittos, they like to hang 'round together and if you don't relocate the first few, they can become a problem!)
If one of your 'mons has recently disappeared, please report it or call your Rangers. Even if it only was a Ditto, they deserve to be safe and recovered!

Glaze + Nightshade takes close to 2 hours on my (already slow) compter. I'll be Glazing my posts from now on, but unfortunately I dont think I'll be able to glaze everything in my accound without It taking me literal weeks of work
Anyways remember to opt out of the AI training scrapping thing. Even though its mostly useless

One eyed Eevee anon here! Turns out you were correct about the Sobble and Quaxly being shiny and the Eevee is perfectly healthy despite missing an eye! The Raltz and Oddish are also fine!
I decided to actually name them now but I have a few options for each one and I need help picking what name for each
Sobble: squeaker, puddle, tsunami
Quaxly: maestro, dazzle, sir quackers
Eevee: sandy, buttercup, nora
Oddish: daisy, hugo, sprout
Raltz: percedal, evangelyne, toph
What name should I choose for each one?
I'd go with Puddle, Maestro, Sprout and Toph, but I'll let you know I'm not the best with names!
Also, you got quite a team to raise, too! I hope everyone gets along well, Sobble and Ralph especially can be quite peculiar with other 'mons, so make sure you keep an eye on 'em.

//If you allow me to step OOc again for something important:
As suspected, Tumblr has signed the AI deal. I won't go into any details here, as there are many other blogs that do it better. But for the people that follow me and may not know It or know how to protect themselves against AI scrapping: this is the step-by-step guide provided by staff:
Tumblr media
Here is a link to Glaze and here is a guide on how to use it. I will be focusing on glazing my art over the next few days, especially the most popular ones, just in case.
Rotomblr / Pokemon RP / Pokeblr is full of amazing and talented artists. I know that this is a shitty time to be an artist, and that our work is in danger due to venture capitalist techbros that would rather piss advertisements into our eyeballs than stop to think about the ramifications of their product. But we have to fight back and push forward.
Your art is yours, and no machine will do it better than you. Keep creating. I love you.

are outbreaks of rare(r) pokemon okay? I was recently trekking through Sinnoh and I spotted a horde of piplup
they didn’t even look like they were bred
I’ve never seen an outbreak before, so maybe this is a flocking behavior.
Piplup are (relatively) common in Sinnoh, and them being together is actually more normal than one or two on their own! They are not as territorial as their evolution, so them bein' together is not super-uncommon.
Outbreaks are usually more common in Galar or Paldea, as non-native species can overpopulate an area and cause an outbreak to occur; or an overabundance of food in the area causes a population spike.

Hi, I saw the rotom anon and might have an idea:
Mine really likes the electronic toys I got for my Meowth- loves going in the little Shroodles on wheels and leading her on a chase around the house or spooking her with one of those ones with a feather stick that pops out of holes in the base. If they’ve got other Pokemon that like things like that, maybe that’s an option?
That's a great idea too! Any electric 'mon toys are a good option for Rotom, though I'd recomend the ones for Electric-types, as Rotoms have enough voltage to fry almost any toy in a couple uses.

I have successfully managed to train my Rotom to not haunt my more expensive appliances but now they're having a hard time finding things they're comfortable possessing- any recommendations? The standard 5 forms are completely out of the question.
There are many Rotom-friendly toys and products out there! If burner phones are out of the question, electronic music boxes and cheap speakers are really fun to play with if your Rotom is particularly mischievous- as long as you don't mind the noise.
If you need something bigger, recycled vacuum cleaners or old cameras (as long as they have some kind of electrical component) can work too! You can get some of them for very cheap; they won't be good for human use but your Rotom will put them to good use for sure.

Hey there! I adopted a Morpeko recently and the one I have has a voracious appetite. He just keeps on eating! I'm at my wit's end on how to keep food around the house without him sneaking the whole dish into his mouth. What can I do to handle him?
Morpeko are voracious eaters, despite their small size, so that's pretty on par for their behavior. If he's sneaking out to search for food, he might not be getting enough, as they need to eat constantly and store their food to be able to munch the leftovers for later!
Unfortunately, you can't fix his appetite, but you can leave his pokefood always easily available for him in different bowls around your house. If he has easily available (and healthier!) food at his disposal, he will be less likely to steal food. Especially, a good mix of berries and seeds are nutritious and especially, highly filling, so it's a recommended snack for Morpekos to always have at hand!
