Don't invalidate people's struggles because you've been through worse. If someone is tired after working for 5 hours and you worked for 7, it doesn't mean that they're not allowed to be tired. It doesn't mean they can't feel what they're feeling just because you've had it worse.

But how can she sleep her way to the top unless people at the top prefer sexual favours over actual qualifications? There's been so much discontent in people over being 'forced' to wear masks, which by the way are for their own safety. Being forced to wear something to prevent an epidemic isn't taking away of your human rights, being forced into slavery, being forced to sell your body so that your pimp can make money, being forced to give up your name, your identity just to survive. That! That is real meaning of being oppressed, of feeling powerless, feeling so insignificant that you aren't even granted the basic human rights. So can we please stop this nonsense about 'my body my choice if I wear a mask or not'. This disease was spread by people rich enough to travel the world, but the poor are the ones who are suffering. So let's all try to act grown up here and PUT ON YOUR DAMN MASKS! . . . . . . . . . . . . . #wearyourmask #covidindia #coronavirus #covidsituationinindia #masksareimportant #deathtoll #slavery #blacklivesmatter #privilege #trending #breakingnews #coronarender #ᴠᴀᴄᴄɪɴᴇssᴀᴠᴇʟɪᴠᴇs #quotes #poetryandothersins https://www.instagram.com/p/COfnVpbFh7f/?igshid=fq7tyep3xh5s

~ Mere khwabon mai jo aaye ~ I hurriedly run back inside my room to pick up my novel while dad tells me to hurry up for school. The chitter chatter in the school bus fades away as I imagine myself as the protagonist who is unaware of all the admiring looks she's getting. Bliss. ~ Kesa hai kon hai vo jaane kaha hai ~ While the teacher solves algebra questions on the board, I cook up my own cute equations with the mysterious protagonist of the novel. Counting down the minutes until school ends, I rush out of class to grab the window side seat on the bus. The sweltering summer heat disappears as I open the bookmarked page and pick up from where I left off this morning, immediately getting lost in his blue eyes and deep voice. Throwing my bag on the chair I sprawl on the bed to finish our cute moment in the library before mom calls me down for lunch. ~ Usse kaho kabhi saamne to aaye ~ Hugging my pillow at night, it feels unreal, like the butterflies of first love where you can't stop thinking about them. I close my eyes and smile, already wondering what will happen next between him and me, I mean the protagonist of the book. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CNzN0s4lyj9/?igshid=1830ynbd2qlvv

How many languages do you know? I speak 3 fluently, English, Hindi, Urdu; know the basics of 2, German, Spanish and at one point of time I was pretty good at Japanese too but now I hardly remember anything from it. Sigh. I miss feeling smart, you know? https://www.instagram.com/p/CM_t5P4lPkG/?igshid=9vkoe86tas52

I'm proud of you if you have ever walked away from a toxic relationship/friendship. It isn't easy letting go of the people you love, even if they are damaging your mental health. Choosing yourself should be a priority. Always.

Since when did it become acceptable and encouragable to substitute greatness with mediocrity? Since when did we start thinking that settling is a replacement for exploring, and that stepping out is a risk too big to take for the sake of comfort? At what point in millennial history did people think that the text they send you when they’re alone at 2 AM became the new romantic gesture? When did being the mistress and the side and the in between and the bridge become the new aesthetic for modern love? When did love even become that? Tell me when did we start thinking that an afternoon spent with someone else start holding more beauty than a night spent in a field full of stars? Seven miles your west lays an entire cave full of fireflies and you tell me it’s too dark in your mind? There are literally footprints on the moon, and you tell me you’re willing to settle in the dirt that doesn’t even grow your favorite roses? You tell me you’re too thirsty for love, too deprived of the fantasy, that you satiate your desire of it with half-hearted promises and pretentiously crafted texts, when there is literally, an entire universe next door that doesn’t compromise your idea of beauty and love for comfort and settlement.
Don’t settle. Just live.
Just live.

thanksgiving is cancelled in 2020. instead, november will be a month of Dionysian madness, casting curses, moonlight revelry, dubious self-care methods, ritual sacrifice, and mashed potatoes.
