Oh I am definitely gonna have to re-learn how to take nice desk/study pictures. Anyways, today I’m reviewing my early TESOL program notes to refresh myself on some grammar and sneaking in a quick DuoLingo session. I don’t use Duo as my primary study material for any language, but I find it particularly helpful for Mandarin because it forces me to read/review characters every day. I simply don’t have time every day to hit my textbooks the way I want to, but I can always do a Duo lesson or two. Also, I am competitive and want to get to a year-long Duo streak lol.

Two months after moving out and I feel like I finally have a functioning space. There was ZERO storage and I had like no furniture lmao, so it was a bit of a struggle to get everything together. But I’m all settled, my art studio area is fully functioning, and my space has never been more consistently tidy after all the downsizing I did pre-move. So happy!!!
Only thing I don’t love is my writing/personal desk area, so I need to work on that a bit before sharing :/

weekly updates ✨
my first online mandarin class went great! i was so pleasantly surprised by how much i had retained, especially reading-wise. honestly was expecting to stumble over all the reading material assigned to me but it was totally fine! never doubt yourself friends 😤
i’ve been avidly listening to audiobooks for a hot minute now, but last week i picked up a physical book for the first time since… honestly probably since graduation 😭 it’s so embarrassing because i used to voraciously consume books for pleasure, then college just murdered my passion for reading. BUT, “A Winter’s Promise” by Christelle Dabos was so amazing that i’ve already finished it and picked up the second book in the series. feeling good about that!
i’m currently looking into taking some classes on proofreading because i do still read a lot of academic material and i’d like to explore that as a potential side hustle. also i just miss school lol, and it never hurts to brush up on grammar 😌
anyways, that’s my life. wishing everyone a productive and happy week!

wow wow. i took such a long break from studyblr, i was reviewing my old posts and it was like a whole different person. not a bad thing, but i’ve definitely grown and changed a lot.
i felt like i needed a completely blank slate, so i just wiped my blog clean today. maybe some people on here will recognize me, even under a new name, but i kind of hope i’ve grown so much that it’s like meeting a new person.
the last time i was here, i was still in college and had such clear ideas for my career and all these big intellectual career plans. now i’m a full time artist and aspiring novel writer halfway through their first manuscript...
i don’t really know what the hell happened, but i’m actually the most content i’ve ever been in my life. studying on my own time really rekindled the love i have for learning, which my last two years of college -- senior year being entirely online -- kind of stomped all over.
wishing everyone well, and excited to pop in and out of here when the fancy strikes me <3
