Palestine isn't a fucking trend. Taking a break is different than completely diverting your eyes to return to fucking shitposting.

So, I'm effectively holding my art ransom. I love orange juice. 

I really do. I loved it as a kid and still do. It’s probably one of my favorite beverages ever. And yet, I don’t know if I will love it forever. One day, you may hear me say “Eww, orange juice is gross, bring me some carrot juice instead.”… even though I hate carrot juice now. Who knows! It’s a possibility - people change. 

Does that mean I shouldn’t buy orange juice today, just because there’s the possibility that I may feel differently in the future? Would it make me a liar or a bad person to drink it now if I change my mind later? 

Of course not. That’d be very silly! Why would I deprive myself of something that makes me happy now, just because of the “What if”? 

Obviously my juice preferences are not directly compareable to identities or feelings but this core idea goes for that as well:  A possible future doesn’t invalidate the current reality. “You shouldn’t identify as X now because you may change your mind later” makes as little sense as “Don’t drink juice now, you may stop liking it later”.

It’s okay. You don't have to have everything figured out, and you don't have to understand by now. You don't have to understand yourself to be valid in what you do know. You know more words now, and none of them are an invalid experience.

You may believe that microlabels are harmful to the community, but that's simply not true. These labels, in their preciseness, are like a glass of water in the vast ocean of identities to those who use them. Each label was coined with a use, with a purpose. Some need the less precise, mainstream labels. The reason for you may be thinking that we should be simple, is that others won't understand, but why should we have to be understandable. We can't find equality by policing who gets the right, the privilege to be themselves.

You're allowed to be eccentric, if that is what makes you feel yourself. Don't let someone tell you you're wrong for being you, because you're beautiful so don't let them dull your shine.

Make them hate you, cuz that's how we move forward. By not caring what those who will just hate us think about the eccentrics of us, we find freedom and strength with each other. This community is made of love. Don't let hate decide what it looks like.
