RUN A 5K FOR A CAUSE- CHECK.
Tumblr media
A big thank you to my friend, Emily, who put me up to this challenge. Having run cross country and track all through high school, 3.1 miles never seemed like a feat to me— until I took a leisurely four years off. Getting back into race gear was a mind game and a physically confusing. My petty aches and pains aside, we decided to run a race for something more challenging than a leg cramp- Parkinson’s disease.
Louis’ Run took place in Buttonwood Park in New Bedford, Mass. in commemoration of Louis Xifaras who passed away from the degenerative disease. Loving someone who is also fighting this battle made each incline feel easier.
Pick something you believe in, and run for your life.

Learn To Cook- CHECK.
I'm not entirely sure why I thought this was such a big deal...to my sheer shock I actually cook a lot. Below are snapshots of my contributions to the CPC (Clean Plate Club). We enjoy carbs...a lot. This is not to say you can't stay fabulously fit, veggies are Godsend, and always eat protein before a long night at T's or Tavern. Always.

Witness a Knighting- CHECK.
To become a knight at BU is a feat only achieved by the brave, dedicated and…wealthy. The task of completing the Knight’s Quest consists of consuming 50 specified beers at the BU Pub. Upon turning 21 I had big dreams of becoming a Lady before graduating, but once I did the math of how many dollars, hours and calories would be spent on lagers and IPAs, I decided that the only quest I’ll be on will be to the gym.
Several of my friends took the challenge head on, and were in fact named Knights and Ladies. The proof is in the pictures.

GET A JOB- CHECK.
Probably the biggest feat of my entire life happened on Friday late morning. I landed my dream job. Big shoutout to everyone who has helped me out, gotten me connected, made a call, sent and email, text or sext to get me in the door. I love you, and will keep paying it forward till the day I retire in Punta Cana.

Never Have I Ever- missed the train.
Never Have I Ever- missed the train.
So, this is going to veer slightly off the beaten path of this blog about bucket lists.
A bucket list is a compilations of activities you wish to complete before a certain time. What’s the opposite of that? A list of activities I wish to NEVER do before a certain time. Missing a train, plane, cab, bus is one of them.
Being meticulously early for absolutely everything my entire life (and being a Virgo), I am constantly planning my day down to the minute. Today was the same as any other day- planned.
Everything was going according to this preset plan, until I arrived at South Station.
Rewind 5 minutes. I’m standing on the T, 2 stops away from South Station, biting my lip and tapping my foot, my heart racing at the sheer thought that I miss my train home at 1:40.
1:34. I run up the stairs at South Station- my upper body strength proving to be stronger than I had thought as I hold my 45 lb hot pink plastic suitcase while sprinting.
1:36. Scan. Print. Go!
1:37. At this point, I think I am golden. I run up to the train and a conductor laughs at me as I am panting. “Honey, this is your return ticket to Boston. You printed the wrong one.”
SHIT.
1:40. Missed the train.
The details as to how and why I printed the incorrect ticket are yet to be uncovered. So 4 hours and 78 extra dollars later I am sitting at Boston Common Coffee Co (which I now consider my place of residency).

GO SNORKELING IN THE CARRIBEAN- CHECK.
I'll be honest, this one just sort of fell into my lap- but hey, when in Rome  Punta.
Mid-week during our Dominican spring break adventure, we blindly signed up for a "booze cruise" feauturing swimming with "exotic fish" and a "natural pool".
We would soon find out all this really meant was a ploy to throw 100 people in the ocean at once and be talked to in broken English, whilst wearing life jackets. My friend called this a "drowning simulation." Snorkels and flippers were in scarce supply, much like life rafts on the TItanic, and many of us emerged from the big blue with battle wounds from collisions with coral.
After re-entering the boat we were showered with (suspicously) pre-made rum and coke's and serenaded by outdated hits like "Crazy" by Britney Spears and probably the "YMCA".
Minutes later we disembarked and frolicked in a sand bar (natural pool?)-- which we're all still pretty confused about.
Probably the best 5 hours of my entire vacation. It's the little things.
Alas, we did not find Nemo, but we did find love in a hopeless place.

GO BOXING IN A RING- CHECK.
1st RULE: You do not talk about FIGHT CLUB.
2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about FIGHT CLUB.
Tumblr media
When walking through the last block on the BU campus, you probably have no idea you are within 20 feet of self-motivated boxers. The Ring at 975 Commonwealth Ave will introduce to sweat, blood and tears and a new fighter mentality.
WARNING: try to refrain from throwing your newly learned moves at the bar this weekend.
