nightmares

Sam knew he had issues. Issues with his past life of crime, issues with his unknown mom, issues with himself. He knew this quite well. As always, the brain likes to and does focus on those negative thoughts. Especially when you’re asleep in the same hotel as your best friend. Now, what’s even worse is when you’re crying and he can hear it from across the room, where he sleeps, peacefully, with no nightmares.

Sam’s dream was filled with reminders of the great pain from never meeting the only person in his life who has been a parental figure. Her voiced dripped within his mind, digging into his memories and growing within them. Though, he could never remember her face. He knew she was as sweet as honey and she was funnier than anyone. He also knew that she would never remember him and he will be forgotten like how everyone else forgets him. Almost everyone.

Guy looked over at a non-peaceful looking Sam, worried. “Oh, Sam..” He said under his breath. He sat next to him, looking down at him. Guy hushed him and whispered affirmations, “It’s gonna be okay...” He said, as Sam woke up with a yelp, “G-Guy- sh-sh-she—” Guy nodded, Sam calmed down. “...do you wanna talk about it?” Guy asked politely.

“Y-yes..” He hugged Guy tightly. “I miss her, I miss her so much- a, and I don’t even remem- remember her.” He sniffled. Guy took this moment of silence as a que to talk, “I’m sure she remembers you, Sam, you’re unforgettable.” Sam looked up at him, “You- You think so?” He asked. Guy nodded, “Absolutely.”

Sam smiled only slightly, and hugged Guy tighter.
