"won't you ever get tired of working?" she whines, "let's play!"
he snickered trying to keep his cool, "I got responsibilities. you probably wouldn't understand."
"But~"
"but what? I need to go now, maybe later after dinner?"
"is that a promise?"
he could hear the delightedness from her voice as she speaks.
"Mm. yeah."
"Alright, I'd wait for you later then!"
"Right, right."
"Wait-"

"I missed you."
And so, he stuttered at her unanticipated reply.
