ALRIGHTY! Time to formally reintroduce yall to my silly idiot OC Dandy!
and by that I mean, I redid their ref art, tweaked their bio, and finally made a ref for their stupid pajamas! Wanted to do other fits for them but aa another time. Brain is mashed potatoes.
Anyway, Dandy is my silly WH oc who's main theme is self care/self love messages shown through the imagery of gardening! Meant to be a sort of "garden of the self" sort of deal. They go by ANY PRONOUNS! She/her or He/Him, or They/Them are all correct and okay to use when talking about them! (I just tend to default to they/them)

"Resident gardener of Welcome Home, Dandy Leon is a curious but careful presence among the others in the neighborhood. They enjoy the quiet and spending their time tending to their various flowers. While a little shy around their fellow neighbors, they open up quickly when asked about their garden. Despite their more introverted disposition, they're always determined to make every day just dandy!"
It’s presumed that Dandy makes appearances only in the later episodes of the show’s run. But in old scripts found with them, it's shown that they moved to Home specifically because they were interested in the local plant life there. The episode that featured their move in seemed to focus on them slowly warming up to the others in the neighborhood, as their shy nature made it difficult for them to properly meet everyone. When asked as to where they lived before moving to Home, Dandy mentions living in a farm town far away, simply deeming it "far more south from here!" A lot of their dialogue also mentions their father, though he's never named but instead mentioned passively as Dandy would often use phrases like "Well it's like my pop always said-" when speaking to the other puppets.
During their short time on the show, Dandy's segments seemed focused on care for their garden, the language hinting that the flowers were more a metaphor for taking care of oneself and well being. Other characters can be found pointing out how much better Dandy’s garden looks when they’re feeling happy, but also comment how wilted it becomes when they’re shown to be a bit more downtrodden. They feel strongly about how important it is to be kind to yourself, even if it’s a skill they’re shown to still be working on themselves. Their confidence is something they also struggle with, seemingly a character meant for shyer audience members to attach to and grow alongside with. Dandy is often depicted in illustrations with Frank, getting along quite well in the show, often joining him and Julie on small escapades. Before the show's end however, most of Dandy's screen time is with Wally as he tries to get Dandy out of their shell more to spend time around others.
Interestingly, what pronouns were used for them seemed to change between the show's episodes and illustrated materials. While neighbors would refer to them as 'he' during the show, most art pieces seemed to refer to Dandy as a 'she'. Whether this was simply a miscommunication between teams or a printing error is unknown.

Martin Macaw Take 2
Sooo I gave Martin a little more background! He's a little country now- His body text is under the text!! Also- if anyone wants interaction doodle requests, either with canon or other ocs (just ask off anon) shoot me an ask!! I like to doodle in my free time hehehe
"As the cheerful critter charmer of Welcome Home, Marty Macaw is a regular guest in the neighborhood. Eccentric and always ready for a get-together, he is often seen riding into town to make everybody's day a little brighter! He likes to help wherever he can, and sometimes he's helping clean up the mess his ranch rascals made."
According to recovered scripts, Martin lived in the midst of the trees surrounding the neighborhood and visited as a guest character occasionally. Martin did not settle in town throughout the runtime of the show, citing "If I don't get back to my animals they'll wander all the way to town." However, when he did stay overnight, Poppy regularly hosted him at her barn.
One of the regular jokes about Martin consisted of each of the neighbors taking turns forgetting that Martin was not actually a bird when talking about him riding into town. Martin confesses that his name may seem out of place, but he insists that his parents were both birds. In some printed media, Martin is depicted with feathers under his hair, possibly backing up his claims. His affinity for bird seed may also be apart of his bird origins.
Martin's appearances, while rare, often made him the center of the episode or segment he was involved in. When he was not busy using his air time to help neighbors with odd jobs and fun tasks, he was getting help wrangling his collection of animals. Not all of his animals were depicted on screen but he talked about having a horse named Moxy, two sheep named Pokey and Honey, three goats named Jesse Molly & Pepper, and one cow named Harvey.

Basically sweet little Daisy can't paint with her hands so she tries to paint with her feet and gets paint all over the carpet- So they tie sponges to their feet to clean the carpet! It's a little goofy but I love them so much-

It was a regular day at the Welcome Home neighborhood, the sun shined brighter as it used to before and butterflies rests on the buds of the vibrant colorful flowers.
It was breakfast time and Falco knew it as her stomach grumbled excitedly for it craved Poppy's magnificent goods accompanied with warm cup of tea.
As she reached at the kitchen, the human was received with a warm smile from the big red colorful bird that offered housing at her barn, this made Falco feel at home for the very first time.
"Good morning, Falco. I see that you woke up early this morning!" Poppy chirped as she turned off the stove, the kitchen now wafted with the sweet smell of lemon grass, Falco couldn't help but hug at the gigantic bird, it was habit she once practiced at home in real life with her mother...
"Oh my, it seems like someone is happy!"
"I am! I managed to sleep well this morning and this time, I didn't have nightmares!"
This made Poppy's smile widen, feeling proud at her human friend for she knows how difficult it was for Falco to sleep at nights. During her stay, she would wake up at nights with panic attacks. It appears that she lost someone important in her life. Poppy does her best to keep her company during the nights, Falco would apologize for ruining her sleep as she sobbed on her shoulder but Poppy reassure her that it was no problem.
The two ladies sat on the table, enjoying each others company as they shared a warm cup of tea, Falco nearly ate half of Poppy's baking. If Poppy ever opened a bakery shop it would surely likely that Falco would be her number one loyal customer.
When breakfast was finished Falco offered to wash the dishes this time as a way to pay her gratitude towards Poppy since she made breakfast. The young girl began to rinse the small cups that were still warm from the beverage not noticing that Poppy was entranced at the soft curls of her hair. With careful steps, she lean her long feathery neck as she took a closer look at her hair, analyzing at each perfect strand surrounding Falco's head.
"Um, ex- excuse me... dear? But um," the bird squeaked, Falco closed the tap once she heard Poppy's soft voice, she wiped her soaked hands against the fabric of her pants as turned to look her, this made Poppy stammer through her words, her voice getting lower as she continued, "I hope it, uh, I hope it doesn't bother you but err, can I... Can I touch your hair?" She asked timidly.
This brought a smile on Falco's lips, it was truly adorable that Poppy was asking for permission to touch her hair.
"Eheh, sure go ahead! You can make a braid if you want!" the human insisted, turning her head giving Poppy her full permission. Nervously, Poppy lifted a shaky feathery wing and gently ran it down on Falco's hair as it bounced back after her touch making the bird gasp with star in her eyes, she gave it another stroke that soon turned into pets, the feeling of the human's soft strands against her wing made her feel at ease.
This made Falco giggle at her friend's curiosity as she continued in doing the dishes while Poppy struggle in making a small braid.

I found this cute welcome home characters headcanon when they have a new neighbor that is human! Each of them has their cute was in showing their love and interest to their new companion. It was written by @florapal
Originally I wanted to draw all the wh characters but college has me on chokehold, my mom passed away, had to move to another country, I mean I had a lot going on that I ended not continuing the rest. (No worries, I am no longer mentally ill!)
BUT I did managed to draw Poppy since she's one of my top favorites (along with Eddie) and a huge comfort for me. I even wrote a small fic behind the image as a way to comfort myself after the lost of my mother.
Florapal, if it makes you uncomfortable the fact that I wrote and mentioned my sudden loss, you can go ahead and inform me, I would deleted the whole fic but keep the image.

The whole point of this AU was just me wanting to see silly little puppet babies so I made a stork puppet who hand (or wing) delivers babies to couples' houses! His name is Sammy Stork and he tries to be quiet/sneaky about it, surprise baby lmao
