So yesterday was a pretty big day for me in my weight loss journey. I hit my 100 day tracking streak on the @loseitapp - I don’t think there’s been a time in the past 15+ years where I’ve consistently tracked more than 2 weeks. Simultaneously, I also crossed the 75lbs lost threshold, which is equally as huge for me. Year after year, I continually make these big new year resolutions and consistently fail to follow through. This year was different and I actually stuck with it. I’m really, REALLY stinking close to being under 300lbs… which is absolutely crazy. I’ve told myself since I started that I would start working out and going to the gym if I ever got to be under 300lbs. Sooo… I’ve been seeing a lot of progress pictures with people taking Mounjaro and they are super motivating. I don't take too many pictures of myself, but I do have a few pictures in an extremely too-tight undershirt that has given me an idea how much I've actually lost. I can tell some noticeable differences but overall still have a long ways to go! I have officially completed the weight loss ⛰️ mountain! I am weighing in at 311.8, which is the lowest weight I have been since 2016. It’s honestly hard to believe… I thought I’d have my own episode on #my600lblife on @tlc before I’d ever be under 300lbs… but I’m only 12lbs away! It’s been a bit since I’ve checked in here. I’m currently down 13.5lbs since the beginning of the year, 61.3lbs total. I made a commitment at the beginning of the year to really focus on my macros & staying in a calorie deficit. I still have a long ways to go, but I’m feeling really good right now. Down 56 pounds. 224 pounds off of my arthritic knees. This is the lowest weight I have been since 2017! I can now go up 2 flights of stairs without being out of breath and can actually function. I haven’t posted on social media for quite some time. Over this past year, I reached my heaviest weight ever at 380 lbs and now at the end of the year, I’m at my lowest weight since June 2019. I felt pretty hopeless, as all of my weight loss attempts fizzled out within 2 weeks. Then in June, I stumbled across a news article that caught my attention (https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/06/health/weight-loss-drug-diabetes-wellness/index.html ) discussing new GLP-1 medicines and how they are delivering substantial weight loss that rivals results seen in those that have weight loss surgery. In August I received my first prescription for Mounjaro and the impact was immediate. I no longer found myself thinking about food constantly. I finally felt what it was like to have a semi-normal relationship with food. I am now able to stop eating when I'm full. I've stopped a lot of my late-night snacking. Monaro has been a game-changer for me, as I have lost 47.8 pounds so far. I never thought I would be able to get under 300 lbs again but I now feel like it's within reach. I wasn’t going to do this. But this time it feels a little different. I wasn’t going to document my 1,000th weight loss journey as it always results in failure.. and a sad reminder that I am continually gaining weight instead of losing it. But I’ve started going to the gym a few times a week and feeling better. I also recently started taking a relatively new medicine called @mounjaro_us and it has curbed my appetite and snacking in a significant way. I feel like it’s a game changer. I’m suddenly not constantly thinking of food or planning out my next meal or. what I’m going to snack on next. Now I’m finding myself forgetting to eat at times and the amount I eat is significantly less than before.
