✨WHY I THINK OOGWAY FROM KUNG FU PANDA IS A HUGE BITCH✨

And why I LOVE Tai Lung and Kai

EDIT: I wrote a long time ago and I would have liked to rewrite it more precisely and add points because YES but I don't have the courage so appreciate my burning hate from that day while waiting lmao

Ok so it might be a bit long and you probably won't agree, if you have the courage to read I thank you for it and be really happy to hear what you think about it. ❤️ (hope my English will be understandable enough)

I loved Oogway like everyone, but watching the movies again I got really attached to Kai and Tai Lung and I noticed that in both cases the one who destroyed their lives was Oogway; Tai Lung was just a little orphan abandoned at his doors. He loves his dad Shifu more than anything and dream to make him proud and win his love because he feels worthless due to his abandonment; he never asked to be the Dragon Warrior nor have infinite power, he was just playing with a ball. Let kid be kid dammit ! Shifu transposed his own dreams to Tai Lung, and TL willing to do well pursued his father's dream, whatever the cost, even if it means sacrificing what he believed to be his destiny. He worked his ass for 20 years every day until he collapsed, "until his bones cracked ", couldn't go to school or make friends, or grow up like a normal child because he had to train hard TO BECOME the DW Shifu told him he's destined to be.

Tai Lung being a prodigy and Shifu a perfectionist, he always asked more from baby Tai Lung, never apologizing for overworking him physically and mentally or telling him that he was proud or love him. He grew up in the company of Oogway, who has been telling for 500 years that the Dragon Warrior prophecy would come true, that "There’s no accidents", so OBVIOUSLY Tai Lung who was abandoned at the gates of the Jade Palace and raised by the greatest master of China, who discovered he was a Kung Fu prodigy and who was told that nothing happens by accident his whole life thought he would be worthy if he did everything for; -This is where Oogway should have intervened, he saw Tai Lung grow within his walls, take his first steps in the palace, at no time in 20 years has he told Shifu to stop putting too many expectations on Tai Lung, or tell him to thanks him for his efforts, or say I Love You, or NOT to bribe him with his own ambitions, but he never did-

He did for Tigress. He told Shifu "She wants you to be proud of her" and guess what, later Shifu told Tigress he was proud of her. Why has he never done this for Tai Lung. (Probably cause it will obviously change everything and he didn't want to)

He also never took the time to talk to Tai Lung and guide him to his own destiny, like he does with everyone else, so WHY TF not the little orphan who grows up with him ? Since Oogway adopted Shifu when his father abandoned him at the Jade Palace too, Tai Lung is basically like his adoptive grandson. I just think Oogway sacrificed Tai Lung's fate to use it later to accomplish Po's. Since Tai Lung never did anything wrong, at any time before being denied the scroll,I think "the darkness in his heart" was only an excuse to deny Tai Lung the scroll after all the effort and flawless behavior he's had all this time (he even had the 1000 scrolls that even Oogway never reached). Especially since the Dragon Scroll was "written" by Oogway, and it WAS EMPTY AND OBVIOUSLY HE KNEW IT. He could have used it to teach Tai Lung a lesson but he preferred to refuse him just to destroy him and use him as the perfect opponent of the Future Dragon Warrior. When Tai Lung left to sow desolation in the valley to attract the attention of his master/father, hours have passed after his rejection of the title, no one went to console him or give him explanations. Because there is none. He just broke the hearts of proud Papa Shifu and Tai Lung by passing him off as a bad guy for no reason, and Shifu as a bad master / father. Shifu didn’t even stand up for Tai Lung kindness of heart, which hurt him more deeply than being denied the scroll. He did all this for Shifu, and Shifu did not show recognition for his work

(+ Tai Lung has already shown several times that he has a good heart during the film, I will be happy to talk about it later if you are interested but let's continue)

[p.s: It has been confirmed that Tai Lung never ever killed, not even the rhinos. Good boii]

When Tai Lung made a mess of the Valley, ( the first and ONLY bad thing he have done in 20 years of life) Oogway didn't move and stayed to protect his empty scroll rather than the Valley and its people, when he could knock Tai Lung out in a second. He probably preferred let Tai Lung act to prove his point, even if it means leaving the Valley and Shifu traumatized; Oogway asked Shifu to defend the EMPTY scroll by killing his son with a lethal kick but ofc he couldn't. ( how do you think Shifu might react if he found out he had to kill his son to protect an empty scroll ??) So instead of killing Tai Lung for Shifu, Oogway decided to put TL into an icy coma for several months, to MAKE SHIFU BUILD CHOR-GHOM prison in the most freezing mountain of Mongolia where he will have to remain locked for LIFE with a pressure-point-turtle-shell Oogway created himself to block his chi, where he can barely breathe until he dies, like WHY ?? Tai Lung never deserves this, he was abandoned by his mother, then abandoned by his adoptive father who tried to kill him, then abandoned by the society of which he worked hard to be the hero, and now he is locked up in Chorh-Gom, alone, constantly watched by 1000 guards, cold, in the dark on his knees for 20 years, with the beating of his heart, the sound of his thoughts and the mocking of the guards as his only sound; without any visit or message from his adoptive father, they do not even have the right to pronounce his name so that he is permanently forgotten and in addition is badly treated by Vachir without being able to move or no one to defend him . NO, Oogway just no. If you wanted him to die first, why keep him alive under such conditions if not to mentally break him and use him later? You knew Shifu couldn't do it. You knew Tai Lung would push him away, you knew it would mark the end of their relationship and that's why you asked him to do that. Now Shifu must have tried to kill his baby at your request and Tai Lung will never forget that his father stood in front of him to destroy him. disgusting ✨

[You even took the care of designing a TURTLE SHELL for Tai Lung with 16 jade needles each decorated with a dragon's head as well as the chain clapboards in the shape of a dragon, you keep him imprisoned in his own obsession to prepare him for combat you little bastard]

Is this the moment to point out that Tai Lung never met a person in his life who didn’t want him dead? Because I think about it every second

Oogway instructed Shifu to train warriors so that one of them would become the Dragon Warrior, TO kill Tai Lung. It makes me think even more that Oogway planned from the start to use Tai Lung as an ordeal, he already knew that Po was destined to be the Dragon Warrior so I don't understand this need to have Shifu train people in the bitter goal of killing his own son when Oogway could have avoided it all from the start.

It was cruel to Tai Lung, and cruel to Shifu. At no time Oogway assumed part of the responsibility or blame himself, he could have acted for a very long time, but he just never did, and let Shifu bear all the brunt of his "mistake" alone. I’m mad.

“ One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.” what was Tai Lung's fate then? Die by the real Dragon Warrior then? I'm sure there was a way for both to be fulfilled and happy (and besties forever)

Even 20 years later, Shifu still loves and thinks about Tai Lung, (and same for Tai Lung.)* proven by the fact that he plays his theme on the flute under the tree where he fed him, or continues to meditate in TL’s personal training room. I won't talk about the fact that Oogway let Po be harassed by the Fives or Shifu because of his own decision cause it wasn’t the worst he did, but still. è__é Once he's screwed up the shit, he is told Tai Lung is back as he had hopedpredicted, all his plan worked, he can leave his staff to Shifu to face death on his own with his son and get out in cherry tree petals. Give the shit you’ve done to others as usual

We have already seen that Oogway did not hesitate to be calculating and intervene so that others "accomplish their destiny" as he was able to do by making Shifu fall sick with noodles he ordered (I don't know if he did it on purpose) and not healing him while he can so that he is unable to fight and leaves Tigress to fight Boar alone in "The Secret of the Scroll"- once again, so she can "fulfill her destiny". It is exactly this kind of manipulation that I blame him for having done to organize Tai Lung's fall.

--what we know about Tai Lung's past, told by Tigress, is what Oogway told her and we know that he is canonicaly described petty and very probably a liar (to be continued in Kai chapter), when Tai Lung mentions it from his point of view in his fight against Shifu we can clearly see the difference. Tai Lung was just a child who needed guidance, and I still don’t understand why Oogway didn’t helped him.

I also won't be talking about Tai Lung or all the reasons he's my absolute favorite character ever because the post would never end, but I'm done with Oogway about him. I just hope he welcomed Tai Lung into the Spirit Realm and showed him the path of redemption. 💔

I really wonder why if "There is no accident" and "There are no secret ingredients", why is there a chosen one. and if the secret ingredient is to believe in yourself, why is it wrong when it's Tai Lung

Now I'm going to express myself on all the bad Oogway did to Kai, it might be shorter but just as pissed off 💥

First of all, we all agree that Kai is in love with Oogway but that Oogway saw him as a friend right ??? Good

I find Oogway particularly HYPOCRITICAL to treat Kai as a monster and himself as a Saint when they were literally war murderers together. [Dreamworks describe him as a “ troublemaking, rebellious warrior”]

Oogway literally describes himself as "an ambitious young warrior leading a great army" bro just say that you killed people like everyone at that moment and assume for once. Kai him was Suprem Warlord of China, in other words, a hero for all, they won wars together, fought together, in short Kai clearly had his share of glory in that. The day Oogway almost died on the battlefield, Kai, who had remained standing, gave up everything to help him. The battle, the soldiers, absolutely anything to take Oogway against him and wander the snowy mountains in despair without destination and terrified of losing him. Once Oogway was saved by Kai and the pandas, he stayed in the village where Kai waited for him, he learned to transmit chi, and suddenly decided to play it peace and love after having massively killed in the war.

He wrote that Kai wanted the power of chi all for himself, but that's not what I think and I take no shit about what this liar turtle is saying. I think Kai was terribly scared when he nearly lost Oogway, he felt totally helpless and useless, and never wants to feel that feeling of weakness again. I think he genuinely loves Oogway, and seeing that chi could save him, he decided to collect it so that he never runs out of it to help Oogway again when he needs it. Not only is this technique revolutionary, but it could have been incredibly useful in war, imagine taking chi from enemies, making you stronger, and controlling them to turn them against their own army. Of course it was wrong to use that on a poor panda, but Oogway communication exists you could tell him to stop right now rather than kill him after everything he's done for you, you gave him no chance to explain himself like fuck

(+ excuse me Oogway but don't you know yourself a Chi technique used to KILL? like Wuxi finger hold maybe ╭∩╮)

Oogway didn't just kill Kai, he ERASED HIS NAME FROM HISTORY AND FOR WHAT ? Kai fought valiantly, he probably brought China to victory, protected the innocent, he was known as a war hero and YOU, Oogway, you should have died in a battle if Kai hadn't left it all for you. Kai won the war, you didn't. And now everyone recognizes Oogway as the supreme hero, building a huge palace in his honor, though he's just an ungrateful liar. Kai wanted to be recognized as well, Oogway could leave his name in history and erase what he did, no one would ever know. But he preferred to appropriate all the merits, all the honors and glory, to be the wise old man kind to everyone after committing genocides, kind to everyone except Tai Lung. He decided to invent the title of Dragon Warrior to defeat Kai 500 years later, and as he say so well “I have set another on that path” so surprising of you Oogway. NOTHING OF ALL OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF KAI HAD LET YOU DIE AS HE SHOULD

Notice how even as an amulet, Kai wore Oogway on his heart around his neck talking to him regularly, holding him in his hands and never using him in battle.

If Durge Could Recruit Gortash Headcanons:

Once agreeing to ally with Gortash, Durge can convince him to join the party, but only if they agree to kill Raphael. If Karlach is in the party, this may be done in exchange for Gortash to fix her heart if Durge can pass the persuasion roll on Karlach.

• Upon joining the party, Gortash shows up in a more practical armor set, still gold and black but not as decorated as his robe. There’s scrapes and dents on parts of it, clearly having been worn before. Durge can ask him about it in conversation and discover he has chosen to wear the same armor as he did when they robbed Mephistopheles Vault. He never repaired it and can tell a story for each scratch.

• He does a lot to try to jog Durge’s memories, and it works a some degree. We hear little stories around the city, some more suggestive than others.

• Old habits never die. He’s constantly touching Durge, always walks next to them, has a lot of strong opinions but will only concede to Durge.

• Durge persuasion rolls on Gortash are DC10 and under. Anyone else it’s DC30.

• He absolutely compliments Durge a little too much. And he’s always the first at Durge’s side after the fighting ends. Grumbles if he has to rez anyone else but dotes on Durge.

• Gets along well enough with Astarion, Shadowheart, and Laezel. Respects Minthara and Gale, sees them both as potential allies if they know their places. Absolute bitch to Wyll. Actively the number one Ravengard hater.

• If Durge can convince Karlach to stick around, she will only be in the same party as Gortash once or twice. She’ll confront Durge about it after and either has to be kept separate or leaves the party.

• If taken to Astarion and Shadowhearts’ personal quests, he’ll be surprisingly respectful, and will tell them they’d make good Banites, particularly if Shadowheart resists Shar. (Kinda think he would tell Astarion not to Ascend but for his own advantage of not having to deal with an Ascended Vampire and not wanting the hells to gain power from 7,000 souls)

• Random gifts pop up in Durge’s inventory. He says nothing about them. One is definitely the hand of an enemy.

• When in the House of Hope, Gortash will only allow Durge to enter the prison with him until the warden is dead. He’ll tell them everything, but won’t let the others see it.

• Killing Raphael is very emotional. He’s proud, happy, relieved, but being there shakes him up. Durge can hug him in private when they talk about it.

• If Durge chooses to save Hope, she tries to hug ‘little Enver, all grown up’ before they leave. He does not like it, but part of him is happy to see her free.

• Durgetash romance can initiate after Raphael is dead. Sceleritas is so fuckin' pissed. Like, he kinda ships it, but he CANNOT handle Durge getting labotomized again for this Banite fool.

• He has random little personal quests and pop-up events like his formal coronation celebration ball, taking Durge to a fancy dinner, dealing with fans, and assassinating a rude journalist who called him not-so-young-and-handsome.

• If taken to Lady Jannath's estate, she flirts with him. Durge has an option to stab her for this- just once. Just a little. She'll be fine! Gortash approves. He apologizes to her, but he's absolutely into it.

• His two allied pathways at the end are to remain fully evil and control the brain/Faerun with Durge or absolutely still be, ya know, Gortash but destroy the brain and become archduke without the tadpoles' help as he’s now viewed as the city’s hero. This is his least evil option and requires a Durge romance or at least a Durge that will remain by his side regardless and saving Hope as pivotal moments.

• Durge's alliance or resistance of Bhaal would significantly influence this. Resisting Bhaal lowers the DC on any persuasion. Failing the duel with Orin would block any option except controlling the brain with Gortash as he sees it as the only way to protect Durge. Because controlling the absolute would offer them a large enough following to grant them literal ascension to godhood, freeing Durge from Bhaal's control. Plus, you know killing a god would only inflate Gortash's ego more, and that would be his new goal.

Superhero MC - MC is basically like Batman in the sense that they are a billionaire phillanthropist at day and a superhero at night, but they have superpowers and are one of the strongest beings in the world.

MC has a very specific Zodiac tattoo on both shoulders, their hero suite hides that.

Asra - Cafe Owner

Nadia - Senator

Julian - Lead Biochemist At (L/N) Enterprise

Muriel - Hero

Portia - Celebrity Chef

Lucio - Mercenery

Asra, Muriel & Lucio have powers.

Asra is a witch that can use Tarot cards and some celestial magic.

Muriel is a Leshy - Forest Guardian Spirit from Slavick regions & Russia - so he can communicate with animals and has powers relating to the earth.

Lucio is like Danny Phantom - He has ghost powers.

None of the LI's know MC's secret identity or that they are a superhero at first.

Asra

You are one of the regulars at their cafe by day & Asra is somewhat of an informant to you every once in a while

Due to a cultist finally getting fed up with Asra's response to her cult, she decided to kidnap them, because she needs all magic using humans with her, so she manages to draw your attention.

Before you could return Asra to their shop, the leader manged to tell Asra who you were before they could complete the memory erase spell on her.

The next day you come for your morning drink theh discretely ask you to go to the back with them where they reveal that they know who you are.

They are now very nervous whenever you come around to the Cafe & gets more flustered when you tell them to relax.

They continue gathering information for you and decide that they should try to teach you some Celestial and Tarot Magic, you might eventually need it. After each magic lesson you both bond over some drinks.

They realise they like you but they don't want to make anything awkward between you both. They are pleasantly shocked when you admit to wanting to be more than friends.

You two have been caught by the press being lovey doevey which has increased customers for Asra, but that means you can only get any sort of peace is if you get out of down.

Nadia

Your company is global, so you have met her several times to discuss business ventures in Pakra. She occasionaly helps you come up with any projects.

Not a lot of people from Vesuvia like the idea of peace with other nations (*Cough*, Vulgura). One day at a peace meeting at your tower, Nadia was taken as a hostage. Luckily you have an easy way to quickly change and save Nadia.

Due to Vulgura destroying everything in her path Nadia did get injured, but you managed to get her to the emergency room of your tower, she found this suspisious.

She went through some video camera's with Natiqa and found out that you were the superhero that saved her. She decided to confront you about it and promised to keep your identity secret, & she felt a bit bad for pryining.

Knowing what she knows now, she realises that the signs were there & now she worries that she might accidently tell the rest of her family, she also gets Natiqa to promise you as well.

She decides that she will try to help you by coming up with any suggestions, critiques & stratagies that you could use when you're out saving the city or world. She also gets Natiqa, Nazali and Nahara to help since their her only siblings that aren't gossibs. Spending time with you has let you both become friends.

You both have gotten quite close in a short amount of time, so with the support (teasing) from Natiqa, she confesses.

You two eventually become an international sensation: Bilionaire Philantropist & Pakran Senator. This means you both have to try extremely hard to get away from people so you can have a normal date.

Julian

He is your lead biochemist, so he reports to you daily and since you both are close friends, you sometimes go drinking with Portia. He is also the one you bring any items you find on your mission to get him to analyse.

As a wealthy billionaire, it is pretty standard for people to want to rob you, this time villains, Vlastomil & Valdemar, try to steal a new formula Julian & crew are working on. Whuch meant he gets kidanpped again. Lucky you, for having security cameras to alert you.

You managed to beat up the two villains but because Valdemar used a secret weapon and stabbed your arm, your healing wasn't able to work fast enough, luckily Julian is qualified for this, but he had to take you to his lab and he saw your tattoo.

He decided to get you talking before he accidently reveals that he knows who you are.

This hasn't changed your relationshup, much. The only difference is that he worries about you more & tries to analyse whatever artifact you bring in. He has also informed Portia.

He decides that he will try to help you, by creating gear and designing a better outfit so that it doesn't tear easily. He also thinks it's fun hanging out more again in an unprofessional capacity.

After years of friendship and some teasing from Mazelinka & now Portia. You confess that you do indeed like each other after Portia spits it out that he loves you.

At night, when he's done with his actual job he helps you analyse any evidence or create and improve any tech you might need to make your "side-job" easier.

By morning, he and occasionally you get teased and congradulated by everyone for finally becoming a couple. They give some advice and warnings about office romances.

Muriel

He is the hero that you work with whenever you need to go into the forest. You are both on friendly terms but don't interact often, due to him being a reclusive Leshy.

It's near impossible to capture let alone find Muriel or any other nature spirits, but somehow a "Ghost Hunter" managed to capture him, which meant Innana got to drag you to the scene to save him.

You manged to save Muriel but because the Ghost Hunter was a pervert you lost the top of your suit and your mask started to crack, once you got Muriel back into the woods, your mask fell off.

He then awkwardly tells you that your mask fell off, he knew that you were a business mogal but thats about it. He then tells you not to worry about it since he's not much of a talker. Unfortunately this is a forest full of nature spirits but they won't snitch to any humans either.

His life continued relatively normaly, except now he was being bombarded with questions & teasings from the other spirits. He also now has to apologise whenever they come to harrass you whenever you have to work together.

He feels bad about knowing your identity but doesn't understand why you keep visiting him and the other forest spirits. You do manage to gather more infromation about any mythical nusances and as a bonus how to help improve the forest.

Sooner than later you both realise you have feelings for each other. The other forest spirits decide to help Muriel out by setting up romantic events, getting Inanna to help push him to confess and getting Khamagalai to tell you that he likes you if he doesn't do it himself.

Since, you both aren't very public super heroes, you don't have to worry much about anyone bothering you whne you decide to do something romantic.

Portia

She is one of your closest friends and often comes to the office to check on you and her brother and bring some treats for you both and some of your employees.

Since she is a celebrity, there are people who get possesive of her. One day a villain who stalks her decided to kidnap her and threaten to take revenge because she rejected their creepy advances. Since it was broadcast across Vesuvia, you quickly arrived.

Luckily you weren't seriously injured, but your some of your clothes were scathed, which revealed one of your tattooed shoulders to her before you left.

The next day she invites you over to her place for tea & biscuits to tell you that she knows about your secret identity and lectures you on how much danger you could've put yourself into.

Ever since she found out, she's had more serious cinversations with you and brought Julian in as well. Now when there is a crisis that you have to solve, she will cheer you on more but she will be slightly more worried.

She tries to help you with anything you need as long as it's not life-threatening. She mainly gathers information on other celebrities or aristocrats that you might need. Your frienship continues to grow and return to a sort of normal once more.

After a while your friendship turns into something more. You both realise that but you both don't know how to go about telling each other, luckily or unluckily Julian tells you that you both like each other romantically.

She tries her best to gather as much information as she can and joins Asra and Julian in helping guide you through missions.

When the sun rises, you and she are the celebrity couple of the weekly news, which does lead to a ton of ship video's of you both along with some discource but nothing you can't handle.

Lucio

Depending on who hired him, he can either be an obstacle or an asset to your missions. You are frenemies, but Lucio will always get out of dodge if he realises his client could be a serious issue.

He is a mercenary which means he has pissed off any rivals of his employers. One day a rival Mafia boss of his employer at the time decided to get revenge on him and kidnapped him by using a draining machine. Luckily, you happened to be another pest to this Mafia boss and decided to rescue him.

You managed to save him but at the cost of your energy being depleted and some of your suit being torn. He decides to kill the enemy and get you out of there and into his abode where he finally notices that your mask fell off.

When you finally woke up, you were greeted by Melchoir & Mercendes along with Lucio bringing you a meal and drink, before trying to explain the events that lead you here.

After the events, he has become careful of his clients and researches them a bit to see if they have any powerful enemies. He is also more weary of everything. He now gets flustered around you too.

He does try to help you more & will now give details about any client he thinks might be out of his pay cheque, he also doesn't want to go to jail. He doesn't avoid you forever though and tries to befriend you.

He can't deny and neither can you that you both have grown close so he decides to prepare a spot where it could be romantic if he succeeded but also had a place for him to cry if it didn't. Luckily he didn't need it.

You two become a vigilante power couple in most nights which is greaet for you considering he's helping you rid Vesuvia of criminals even if he is being paid by others to do half of it.

By day you both get bombarded with paparazzi & interviewed by the press. You both don't mind too much but sometimes in can get out of hand when it's ruining any time you want to spend together in a public area.
