I had a dream last night that I was moving to a rural lakeside area where the lake had a monster in it, Kelp Kevin. But Kelp Kevin wasn’t a mysterious rumor, he was just a weird big kelp-looking thing that showed up all the time.
And as they were explaining Kelp Kevin to me, the monster himself burst out of the water, and I raised my hand on some weird instinct and as soon as I did he gave me a high five with a big kelpy limb. Then he vanished back into the water and everyone was like “Ayup, that’s Kelp Kevin.”
I hope everyone has a day of equivalent awesome to that of being high-fived by a cryptic lake monster named Kevin.

I swear I am going to start a seminar in How to Exist in Public. We do not block our coworker from getting their food out of one microwave while waiting for our food in the other microwave. We do not walk four carts abreast through the grocery store, nor do we park our cart next to an end cap and wander off to another aisle. We do not start making a left turn we will not be able to complete, thereby bringing the entire intersection to a screeching halt. We do not stop dead in the middle of the hallway to answer a text. We live in a society.

guillermo del toro’s pinocchio is a beautiful film but my god no one has adapted that story like neverafter. you can never look at it the same way again after listening to lou wilson, a black man, explaining that he chose to play as pinocchio because it’s a story about a little boy who isn’t allowed to make mistakes. that in pinocchio's story, he is fundamentally barred from childhood at once upon a time. he must earn something that everyone else is granted from birth. the other boys get to tell lies and play and get into trouble, but when pinocchio does the same thing there are grave and violent consequences. his pinocchio is trying to understand why the world is so unfair, why the rules are so different for him, why everyone else gets to be a real boy.
and I think about it every day.

The other party wouldn’t do business unless Kalina agreed to the spies’ tongue curse. Kalina couldn’t out them as her co-conspirator, but the closest she can get is hinting at a person who saw them together.
Also Jace is very conveniently insulated from the Principal position and shenanigans thereof, while having plenty of power as Vice Principal.

I think it needs to become common knowledge that "inability to read social cues" can show up as overcompensating.
You don't know how much misbehaviour is allowed, so you become the perfect child who never tests rules.
You don't know if someone is irritated with you, so you'll be extra generous and self-effacing.
You don't know how much is expected of you at work so you'll kill yourself in a minimum-wage job and not notice that nobody else is working like this.
"Hardworking and quiet" should be as much of an autism red flag as "ignores rules and doesn't know when to stop talking". Or why don't we just start using words to communicate so i can stop tracking everybody's eyebrow twitches, that would be great.

At the gate for my flight home from visiting friends and there's a woman here with a service Shiba Inu. No pics because he has a Do Not Disturb vest and taking pics of strangers is illegal but I need to stress how ON DUTY this animal is. Ears up. Eyes doing Lazer scans of everything. Examining everyone who passes within 10ft like a security guard. Ass planted on her feet. I have never seen a dog with such intense chivalric guardian energy before. He has tiny eyebrows and they are FURROWED with concentration.
