My first (that isn’t using a sticker or a solid recolor) Design Studio attempt, in the form of faux-merch for a very beloved musician, Crywolf. The void eye is a logo/sigil of his that I did my best to recreate on a phone! The lyrics (I wanted you to know/you were the end of me) on the sleeves are my design idea but his words, from this song, check it out:
I made this same one in black writing on ivory so my characters can sport it everywhere :P love the custom drawings for being reusable that way! Now if they just wouldn’t have watermarks on your own designs…
(That’s my other point of pride — no editing out of that in this shoot, just angling to get as little watermark as possible while still getting cool shots that show the design.)

dl | patreon | further details of what's included under the cut. people wanted a resource pack i curated so here it is! it's a free for all, do whatever you want! all of it is BGC and texture are from paid packs so you don't have to own/download them
pose making rigs (set for a flat view for easiness, 2.7+) that has almost all animals, plus sized bases (made by me), and mermaid bases.
textures that are pretty useful such as embroidery patches, fur textures, knitted bralettes, piercings (for the included piercing mesh), pins and rips, badges, and a crochet pattern strip i created from the punk stuff pack
facepaint setup i personally use for 2.9+ as a sketching base (short explanation written on the provided preview)
piercing mesh from university that you can do anything with!
useful images such as uv maps and what they include, facial expressions for pose making, sort layer numbers.
animations created by me! two are plain 360 spins that go twice around for preview gif making, the other is a set of hand poses meant for rings/bracelets/etc. there is a gif preview for all of them to show what they look like
sim bases that i personally use to just use as a start up with no CC or custom presets (even though it says it does, it's probably just seeing all my custom presets and sliders). they're available on my gallery id: alienflesh

EYES BIG UPDATE
🔧 CHANGELOG
No more need to choose eyes for each type of clothing;
I moved all the eyes to the "eye details" category, if you choose eyes in this category, then you don't need to choose eyes for each type of clothing. Also, the eyes from this category will never "disappear" from your sim during the game, as the eyes from the "Face Paint" category did after your character, for example, was burned and as a result of other game actions.
Additional category without increasing the file size;
I finally figured out how to duplicate СС into different categories without increasing the file size. I used the same technique in "JOURNEY: CARTOON STYLE GENETICS SET" to duplicate skins and face masks. So I left the opportunity to use eyes in the "Face Paint" category for those who like to using this category and do not want to change anything.
The smaller file size helps the game run faster. So I think this is a very important find.
New thumbnails in one style.
Just to make everything look nice, haha.
✅ INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
you need to download this mod to open new "eye details" category (I chose this category because it is empty so you don't have to choose what exactly to use), this is not necessary if you want to use only "Face Paint" category;
delete previous versions of eye files from your mods folder;
put new versions of eye files in your mods folder;
in order for new thumbnails to be displayed in your game in "Face Paint" category, you need to delete the "localthumbcache.package" file from "C:\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" (this is the folder where your mod folder is located), or you can do it through the sims studio.
if the СС did not work, it means that somewhere in the mods folder there is an old version of the file.

✅ In my game I use BETTER IN-GAME LIGHTING MOD v1.1 and GENTLE CAS LIGHTING MOD!!

Posting this here because it came from a fellow simmer I follow <3 but prolly will reblog to my others.
First, I would encourage everyone to watch the video. It’s important.
(Also, my response will make no sense if you don’t. It started out a reply and got long and also, I think it’s important too.)
The type of comments that spawned this even needing to be said are such bullshit. "Stop complaining and do something about it"? What the hell do people expect someone to do, whether they're in the military or not? Assassinate Putin personally?* A lot of Russians hate this war and THEY’RE not able to stop it via public opinion, I don’t know what you think everyday civilians in Ukraine can “do about it”.
(There are a whole lot of things that get said there that outs those commenters as not-very-informed baby conservatives who think that any violent oppression can be solved like a first person shooter where you get to face the Boss yourself at the end. Like. Okay buddy, You try personally ridding a country of drug cartels before you’re able to feed your family and see how far you get.
The LA video is the same stupid “bigger problems to solve” rhetoric, just applied to ourselves. No one in the US who gives two shits about the homeless thinks that any federal money -- for anything that would longterm help -- would ever come from the same budget as international military aid. And the video maker doesn’t care. The people who hate helping people are the people who hate helping people.)
But my point is, it’s important to remember stereotypical pictures aren’t the reality of war (even in the places they were taken). People can't live as though there's no hope, or that normalcy will never return. Hell, we love those keep calm and carry on posters and those are from the bombing of London! We shouldn’t be forcing doom news to be flooded to us to have compassion for people in a life or death situation. Going to get coffee and get on Playstation and take a walk is how people stay sane (and a nice little fuck you to oppressors). We -- especially the kinds of people who say this -- can’t even keep masks on during a pandemic because oh my god, it’s so depressing to have to have a filter over our mouths. But everyone else should be sitting in rubble being traumatized for us to have compassion or -- agree that they even deserve fair business practice?
And as I said, yeah, these are probably the same assholes who don’t give a shit about most of the residents of the US, too. But this is how we come off to other countries. So maybe we could shut up for a while and try to understand war, because we ARE incredibly privileged.

By the way for other people looking, sims4-marigold’s old site does pretty well when you throw it into the Wayback Machine. If you find a downed link, try the Internet Archives -- I’ve found in most, though not all, cases, they’ve also cached the download links so you can get to those too.
(It’s an indispensable resource for a LOT of things but this is one of the more successful cases I’ve found.)

CAS Replacements - Horse Ranch Update
Wooo my first round of updates with new game content :'D I've updated all files mentioned here, added new alternatives, and since there's a lot to go through I've compiled their changes here. SFS & Google Drive files are all updated!
// Updated (redownload file):
All CAS lighting mod - thanks to this tip, I've updated all lighting mods to include horses!
CAS bg 01 (Reflection) - expanded the floor mesh to prevent cutoff on reflection.
Bodyshop Room - extended the wall and floor a little bit to cover the screen when editing horses. Platform size does not change.
TS1 CAS & Stardew Valley v2 - moved the background further back so it won't clip with horses during animations.
// New additions/files:
TS4 Demo (v2) & Bodyshop Icon (v3 & v4) - expanded the platform to stop horses from floating. Will look huge on sims and small pets though.
CAS bg 02 (MirroredUp v3) & TripleMirror v3 - pushed the 2 standing mirrors all the way back & updated the floor reflection. Sim's reflection will look considerably small to prevent clipping on horses.

How to make stuff base game compatible with S4S
You must own the EP/SP/GP you want to make BGC stuff from.
First open S4S, and choose “Create 3D Mesh” and then click the giant “CAS” button.
Find your item, select all the colors, then click “Next”
A box will pop up asking you to save the package, name it and click save.
When S4S loads, click save again just to be safe.
Viola, it is done!

(There are a lot of other of @eachuisge-cc ‘s posts, like the complaint about not having horse height sliders, that I want to yell that at, too.)
I’ve been looking for someone who made rainbow striped clapboard (gotta emulate that one house across the street from Focus on the Family) AND for colors for specifically NOLA style shotguns [and, given the inspiration for Growing Together, San Francisco Painted Lady houses] with (mis)matching doors and windows for like, several months and was baffled at not being able to find it. These are awesome.
(May play with additional colors, after I make sure that’s okay w/ the TOU, at least for my personal game: I’ve seen painted lady houses, and there are a lot of similar ones where my parents live in Buffalo -- we can definitely go even wilder on the pastels. Wildly vibrant spandrels also needed if I’m doing SF or Buff.)
Colorful Clapboard Override
For when you want to make fun New Orleans style houses but EA only offers you infinite variations of beige and house-flipper grey. This will replace the Clapboard Crush siding and add 21 new colorful swatches alongside the vanilla ones, available both with and without trim. The trim version also now includes all the vanilla swatches from the non-trim version instead of leaving some out, so they both come in all the same colors now. Not sure why that wasn't a thing.
If you really want to become the bane of HOAs everywhere, also check out the colorful window and door overrides I've made to go with the siding.
