Just curious, do you breed for any particular temperament in your animals? My mom loves my corn and wants help picking a snake of her own, but I'm also aware that my boy is unusually chill. I'm hoping to find her a friend that's similarly laid back.
I try to! My snakes tend to be a mix of nature and nurture. Some are sweet from day one and some need a little work. I have a few breeders who themselves are lovely but their babies are more anxious to start and need to be socialized to get them to their parents' level. For this reason I'm really careful to be specific about temperament in listings. I'm always happy to help a buyer choose a snake that fits what they're looking for, too.
One thing I might recommend is choosing a yearling or a juvenile instead of a tiny baby, as their confidence will be better and they're more established and predictable at that age.
@fractiousrvt may still be running her temperament and size-based project (I'm not totally sure?) so you may want to check with her, too!

Hiya yellow snake anon again! Firstly thank you SO MUCH for such an amazing response, I really appreciate it 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I stumbled across this snake while researching tumblr :
https://www.tumblr.com/river-muse/739899233184907264/got-some-new-photos-of-my-sweet-baby-boy-shah
And it has like the exact colours I’d want. They say its a caramel morph but I haven’t seen another quite like it, would you know what’s going on there and where/how I would find a snake that looks similar?
Thank you so much for your blog it’s an amazing resource 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Oh wow, what a lovely guy! He's a Caramel Masque from what I can tell (Masque changes the tummy pattern and head stamp and can lighten colors), and he might have some selective breeding going on as well.
I think I'd ask that user directly where they got him and see if maybe they can give you a lead on who his breeder might be. If that's a wash, then I recommend searching MorphMarket for Caramel corns from breeders with high seller ratings and ask for photos of a prospective snake's parents if the listing doesn't already include photos. A decent breeder will be happy to help you get exactly the snake you want.
It's not a guarantee that you'll get another Shah Dalamadur, but parent photos should give you a reasonable idea of what you can look forward to as a baby grows.
I'm glad you have a lead!

Hi!! I was wondering if you had any recommendations for corn snake morphs that are grey and yellow? The closest I’ve found is caramel but I’m not very well researched. Thank you so much!!
I'm sorry to tell you that this is a bit of a tough (but not impossible!) order, my friend, and I'll explain why:
Corn snakes have three main pigment types: melanin (black), erythrin (red/orange), and xanthin (yellow). Most of the known color morphs will affect one or more of these pigments but they tend to be interrelated, so masking or removing one will often affect the others to some degree, and xanthin seems to be the first to go in many cases.
Most morphs are going to reduce or eliminate melanin (Amel, Hypo, Lavender, etc.) and/or enhance erythrin (Strawberry, Lava, Sunkissed) so you're going to be hard-pressed to find a morph combo that retains melanin without washing to brown but also eliminates erythrin while maintaining xanthin.
The Anerythristic A morph (aka Anery) removes erythrin and masks xanthin. Grey snake, but no yellow. Some adults will get yellow in the neck area but it won't be full body.
The Caramel morph, which you've already found, enhances xanthin and reduces melanin and erythrin. Brown snake.
There are other morphs and a potential selectively-bred yellow enhancement that you might explore that could accomplish what you're hoping for, but you'll be at the whim of breeders who, quite frankly, aren't likely to be focusing on this particular color combo.
For possible morphs that might fit your aesthetic, you could look for high-yellow Caramels, selectively bred Miami or Okeetee Caramels, Caramel Kastanie, or a morph called Dark Yellow which is a combination of Scaleless, Caramel, and Anery. I've also heard of a yellow-enhancing trait called Yellow Coat but I've never seen it and I don't know if it was a fluke, a selectively-bred trait, or a genuine recessive gene that has just fallen off the radar due to lack of popularity.
I would advise to look at adult photos and disregard baby photos, as baby coloration almost never stays the same. You might find that a muddy brown or grey baby corn snake grows into a gorgeous yellow and dark grey adult.
I wish you the best of luck in your search and if you can't find exactly what you're looking for, perhaps you can work with a breeder to launch a project, or if you have the resources you can start one yourself!

Do you know if there are ways to know if a snake from a pet shop has been properly taken care of or not? Asking since i've been visiting some and i saw one with a boa that had some kind of sinking or deformity on his tail, so i'm kinda wary now.
Hello, friend! I'm sorry to tell you that there is not.
I've worked in multiple areas of the pet industry and I've met the full gamut of types of shop owners, and while I don't consider all of them wicked people, some certainly are. Even the best of them have a bottom line to consider. This means that they won't divulge where their animals are coming from so that you can look into a breeder before making a choice, and they're likely buying animals from backyard breeders or bulk importers. This also means that it's unlikely that the animals they're selling will have established health histories.
Having worked at one of if not The biggest reptile chain in Northern California, I saw some horrors that scarred me for life. Among the lesser sins that took place there:
Folks who bred reptiles but didn't have incubators set up could bring their eggs in for incubation services, the price of which was half of the clutch, and the store owner would then sell the resulting babies as "born on-site," which was technically true! But we didn't know the parentage or health potential of any of these animals. We didn't sell incubators in the store for this specific reason.
Surrenders came in regularly from owners who didn't have the time or resources to care for their pets any longer. They went on the sales floor with a price tag the second the previous owner walked out the door. No veterinary care, no health evaluation, no observation period, nothing. If they looked okay they were priced at regular retail price and we were explicitly told to never admit that they had been surrendered. 100% profit.
Any animal that was injured or sickly, no matter where it came from or how it got injured, was tagged as a "surrender" that we would claim was dropped off by a bad former owner and we'd had them cleared by a vet so that we could rehome them. This was a lie. None of them ever got veterinary care, ever.
Enclosures were cleaned regularly but were never properly sterilized between animals. We sold veterinary-grade cleaner in the store but we were not allowed to use it because it was too expensive. We used diluted Lysol!
Again, this is a large reptile chain with multiple stores and mostly positive online reviews* and I wouldn't trust them with a pet rock, let alone anything breathing.
You're much better off getting a snake from a reputable breeder, or at least someone who can answer reasonable questions about feeding, parentage, genetics, any possible health issues, etc.
*the owner actually reported negative reviews and would have employees write good ones while I was there.
