it’s been so long I’m so sorry guys I got super duper busy with work, but I’m back! Words spoken in blue is spoken in Navi. And words in this is basically you talking to yourself.

You heard norm and max bickering over some bs while you were eating your breakfast when you get a call from Jake. “this is Y/n speaking, what’s up Jake?” You say answering the call, “hey y/n are you guys checking up on Kiri today?” You sigh “not sure why what’s goin on?” “She said she’s been having some weird dreams lately and I was wondering if norm and max can come check up on her.” “Got it, bye.”

“Normmmm, Maxxxxx.” You say while walking the halls of the lab, you enter a room and see them standing next to your avatar. “What Y/n.” “Jake wants a checkup, sayin Kiris having some weird dreams.” you mumble out while cleaning the inside of your nails, “alright we’ll get ready we’re heading over soon.

You wake up and find yourself in your avatar. As you head over to your beloved aircraft you see norm and max loading equipment in and offer to help. “Yeah actually thanks, can you go grab the rest of the stuff in the lab room?” “Got it.” You run to grab it and run back. As you’re setting the stuff in the aircraft your stomach starts to bubble with nerves, you haven’t seen Ronal or Tonowari in a few weeks and it’s nerve wrecking seeing them again. Ronals big yellow eyes.. Her thick course hair, don’t get me started on Tonowaris hair, you think about his big ass arms and beautiful tattoo work on them. Just like yours, when you were 18 you decided you wanted a tribal tattoo just like your father and got it as soon as you could. After thinking and snapping out of your haze, you jumped into the front pilot seat and asked the two nerds if they were ready, they replied yes and you started the aircraft named “Mahina”, by you of course and took off.

As soon as you got their multiple navis gathered, still very interested in the aircraft after years of seeing it. You unloaded things for Norm and Max set it into Jake and Neytiris mauri. You felt the same set of burning eyes on the back of your head, but didn’t look back yet. “Hey guys, how’s everything?” You ask trying to make conversation because it’s too quiet.. “good, what about you Y/n?” Jake replied seeing what you’re trying to do and giving into it. “Could be better.” like sleeping..

You then turn around and see Ronal. You smile nervously at her, just like how you did when you first ever met her. You walk over and greet her, “Hello Ronal, how are you?” You say trying not to make eye contact with her big ass eyes.. kind of hard to do, “Demon, it’s been long, where have you been? How’s that big cut on your shoulder? Have you been growing your hair? Are you staying the night here at the reef again? “Do you wish to sleep in our mauri?” Your eyes widen as you’re bombarded with so many questions, “woah slow down tsahik, yes it’s been awhile. Yes I’m staying here for awhile, me and my partners need to stay for kiri due to her dreams being a long-lasting test their running. And I am growing out my hair thank you for noticing.” She notices your gaze is focused on her nose and not her eyes. “Demon is something wrong? Why will you not look me in the eye?” “It’s nothing Ronal, how’s Tonowari and your children?” “Their fine, come to my mauri let me look your gash.” As you’re walking to her mauri you start sweating, this is so nerve wrecking and you don’t know why. As your getting checked you hiss due to her pressing on the gash, which turned into a scar very quick. “The paste worked. I told you it works on everyone.” you continue to talk to her as you hear the mauri flap being opened by no other than Tonowari, “Hello syulang.” great another reason to sweat even more.

You land in the reef clan and jump into the sand, but today you are in your Avatar. You still have all your tattoos and such. But it feels so weird. You haven’t entered your avatar in awhile. You walk to jake’s marui, bouncing a little on the walkway

You enter and greet them “Hi Jake! Hi Neytiri! Hi kids!” You greet them and sit down “Hey y/n, I can’t believe you’re in your avatar! It’s been years.” Jake says surprised. You nod, you just didn’t want to feel small compared to them anymore. “Yup.. Don’t you still think it’s weird they gave me a reef Navi because I’m Polynesian?” You say still offended because that’s honestly not cool. “I think it’s funny. I’m still trying to figure out what Polynesian is. But hey atleast you fit in with them! You still have your tattoos.” He pokes at your arm and leg as you scoff “typical white man.” You hear someone enter the Marui and feel eyes burning into your head, you then hear a familiar hiss “Who is this?” You hear Ronal hiss at Jake as he explains who i am.

You turn around to face them and see their face soften for a bit then tightens. “Ronal it’s me. Y/n” she gasps “Sky demon?” She reaches up to touch your Navi features. “But you are metkayina?” She looks at you with widen eyes then turns around to tonowari who is already looking at her. They speak through their eyes and say goodbye. You turn around and look at Jake and Neytiri. “Can I just crash here tonight?” You don’t want to go back to lab because they would be pestering you with questions. “Yes. but you reek. You must go to the pond and rinse off. I will get a tweng from the Tsahik.” Neytiri says laughs as you roll your eyes and follow her out.

You reach the pond and strip from your t-shirt and shorts and dive in. You sit there waiting for Neytiri to bring your so called tweng for you to change into.

after your shower you hear some rustling in the bushes and out comes Ronal and Tonowari. “Oh..” you cover yourself and your cheeks flush in dark blue. You then reach out for the tweng and stand up “thank you.. I am going to change now.” They nod but do not move. Well thats new. You end up just moving backwards a bit and changing, you never leaving their site. “Thank you for the clothing.” You sign the I see you and start walking away but tonowari grabs your hand and whispers close to your face, “Come to our marui with your belongings. You are sleeping in our marui.” He looks at you tense. A shiver runs down your spine and you hesitate to answer but you just nod. Rushing you enter Jakes marui and tell him everything. “Holy shit! Do you think they like you? I mean they always had their eye on you but I thought it was because you’re human!” He rambled off as you hurry to grab your shit. “I don’t even know jake, but I trust them.” You say goodbye and walk towards the marui. Tonowari comes out from behind you and slips an arm around your waist. “come.” He says. “I will bring you to our home.” You walk with him tense as fuck because his damn buff ass arm is around your waist. You walk in and see Ronal and smile nervously. She smiles and pats the sleeping mat. “Come. We welcome you.” They seat you down and also give you very pretty Navi jewelry. Isn’t this a way of courting? I’ll ask Jake or norm. Right now I just need to focus on what’s happening in front of me..

After the talk with the Tsahik and Olo'ekytan of the clan you walk straight towards the air ship, very very fast. They scare you. Why wouldn’t they?? They are huge reef Na’vi that have sort of same culture as you, and take interest in you. Your mind is fuzzy as you sit down in the pilot seat, Norm and Max enter as they ask you multiple questions about the “talk” you had with the reef Na’vi. “What the heck was that all about!! Norm said as he took a bite of his sandwich. “I don’t know.. They asked personal questions I’d rather not tell you.” You replied awkwardly as you start the air vehicle. “Stop asking me questions, I just want to get back to base and sleep. I’m still freaked out by them.” You say wanting these questions to end. “Alright fine! Just tell us tomorrow.” Max yells over the loud wind.

once you guys get home you flop onto your bed but feel a sharp sting in your shoulder. “Oh shit..” you had an 6 inch gash on your arm. “These damn beds!” You yell out as it still stings you hiss out your gritted teeth while looking for the first aid kit. You look in the mirror about to apply something but take a moment to notice your tattoos. You got them when you first turned 18. Wanting to represent your culture. You smile at the thought of your family back home in the islands. You then get back to work with your gash and wrap it nice and tightly. Heading back to bed you hear norm say “do you think she would let one knock her up?” He’s talking about you and those big buff ass reef Na’vi! “I heard that!” You yell back “you were supposed to.” You sigh sitting back onto your bed letting slumber consume you.

You wake up to Norm shaking you awake. “what.. what. What!” You say as he didn’t hear you the first or second damn time. “Get up! We have to go back. Kiri had another seizure!” Goddamn it. It’s not their fault obviously. But stay away from the damn tree for a few weeks. “Alright, alright. I’m comin.” You put on a tank top and shorts as to it’s very hot on the reef. You start up the air ship and sit down. “Are you guys ready?” You yell out loud enough for them to hear you. “Yes!” You hear in the distance. You start driving towards the reef but think. Shouldn’t the Tsahik handle this? She did it last time and it was successful. Why are we going back at 7 in the morning? You guys land and you get out to help them with all their bull crap. “I think the Tsahik should do it instead.” You say with sass. “Yeah but Jake insisted..” max says sighing. “I swear Neytiri is going to kick us out! There’s no point!” Norm says started to get annoyed. You nod and drop off their stuff near the Marui, helping set up. Once everything was set, you go and hug Neytiri and Jake greeting them with nice hello’s. “Alright bye guys I’ll be back I just need to grab something from the ship.” You say earning some nods and oks from everybody as they focus on Kiri. As you’re walking you feel something or someone grab your arm and you get pulled into a Marui. “Woah! Hey!” You yelp in surprise and pain as someone pulls on the bandages on your arm. That person is the Tsahik.

“What happened demon.” She says coldly “I uh cut it.” She looks at you with a “really bitch” face “on what?” She said while grabbing some paste. “My bed… I don’t think that paste will work on humans..” she hisses “Kehe. nonsense. This works on anyone.” She says as she unwraps your gash and sees how big it is. “This big cut from a bed?” She looks up at you and you nod nervously as someone walks in. “Tsahik I-“ they get cut off by her “i am busy. Wait outside.” They look at you hastily. “But Tsahik that is a sky demon-“ she hisses “out!” They rush out as you look at her with wide eyes. “What? Give me your arm.” She gets back to work as her mate walks in. Ah shit, both of them? While I’m in between?? Not cool. When she’s done she taps you to let you know “thank you.” You stutter out as she nods her head. “Hello Olo’ekytan..” you say as you back out creeped out by the way they both are looking at you. “Hello human.” He says in a chilling voice that still gives you chills. “I see you have cut yourself on the tattooed arm? You should be more careful as to you are more fragile then us.” You nod as you hear norm yell out it’s time to go back. You thank them one more time and turn around but they grab your arm. You look at them both, “come back tomorrow after eclipse. We want to discuss a serious matter with you.” You hesitate but nod your head “okay then. I have to go now.” You sigh as they let go.

“tonowari shes perfect.” “Yes she is. She is just like us when we were younger.”

you start the ship and head back to lab. “goddamnit these people are going to be the death of me.”

quick thought.. I have never seen this but what about a Polynesian!reader with Ronal and tonowari? Just think, they have similar tattoos and culture(mostly from Māori tho.)

You waited outside of the marui as Norm and Max where discussing Kiri’s affects from the seizure. You heard loud stomping as you looked up to see the Tsahik of the clan, but quickly moved out the way, not wanting her to see you as you’re still scared of the large Na’vi species. You’re only the pilot for them after all. This is the first time you came here.

“I see that I am not needed here.” Ronal says after seeing all of the sky demon devices. “You are Tsahik.” Neytiri hisses out as she pulls her arm back, desperately looking at her to help her daughter. Ronal sighs and nods. “Get out! You have done nothing.” Neytiri hisses loudly at the sky demon and the avatar as they quickly gather their things and leave. “Ma Jake. Let the Tsahik handle this.”

Ronal sighs standing next to her mate. “This family is driving me insane.” She says rubbing her temple. Tonowari looks at her and mumbled something but something or someone caught Ronal’s eye. “Ronal?” Tonowari snaps her out of her gaze as she clears her throat. “Sorry I-“ she gets cut off by tonowari. “I’m sorry Ronal but you seem distracted, what’s wrong my mate? You can tell me.” Ronal beckons him to follow. They stop once they are near the sky demon ship. “Look. That demon has our tattoos.” They both look but catch eachothers tails swishing. “Oh great Eywa.” They say in unison.

“Hey norm! How did Kiris check up go?” You asked an annoyed Norm. “Terrible. Again! Jakes mate needs to stop kicking us out!” He says annoyed “well it’s very foreign to her, remember she isn’t an avatar like Jake, she’s real na’vi!” Max said. You nod your head agreeing, continuing the conversation but suddenly feel eyes burning into the back of your head and turn around, instantly regretting it as you see the Tsahik and Olo'eyktan of the clan. Quickly turning around and joining the conversation again with your face flushed “The Tsahik here scares the shit out of me man, she looks to serious and scary. I would get on my knees for her though..” you say out loud and laugh, getting weird looks from norm and max. you suddenly feel a tap on your shoulder and turn around and see them again.”oh shit you think they heard that??” You say is a panicked voice.“Oel ngati kameie Tsahik and Olo'eyktan. Is there anything I can help you with?” You say confused as to they are talking to you know after you’ve been here for awhile. “Yes, what is your name demon?” The woman says as her piercing eyes look into yours. “Uhm, y/n. Y/n L/n.” She hums looking down at your tribal tattoos and your thick wavy/curly long hair(poly boys also have long hair)”Well Y/n L/n, we need to talk to you. Now.” The man says in a deep voice giving you chills. “Oh uhm, yes of course.” You walk with them wondering what is it they need to talk to you about because this is the first time they interacted with you throughout the whole time of you coming here, they brought you to a little cave. You looked around scared and confused. But little do you know they’ve kept their eye on you.

Explosive underwater volcano eruption in Tonga spotted from space in satellite images!

Satellites orbiting Earth captured a powerful undersea volcanic eruption from space on Thursday (Jan. 13).

In the South Pacific kingdom of Tonga, which is made up of over 170 islands, the (mostly) underwater volcano on the island Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai erupted, sending plumes up to 12 miles (20 kilometers) into the air, the Tonga Geological Services has shared online.

Orbiting probes have captured images of the ongoing explosive event, which follows a previous eruption in December 2021. This event is more than seven times as powerful as December's eruption and has so far sparked a tidal wave in Tonga's capital Nuku'alofa and a tsunami warning for all islands in Tonga, in addition to possible threats of acid rain.
