Meet Yolima Taborda Rojas (@paisacoffeellc), a Colombian 🇨🇴 coffee importer, whose whole journey began the moment she was born on a coffee farm. Literally!  After Yolima left Colombia to work in the United States 🇺🇸, she found herself surrounded by more coffee than she ever had before.  She said, “I noticed how much coffee…people consumed here, way more than what I was used to in Colombia, and also how much people were willing to pay for a cup of coffee. I mean, I paid six dollars for a cup of coffee once and when I translated that to pesos I was blown away…I thought that maybe there was an opportunity to start a coffee business here and bring my family's coffee to the U.S.” This realization set her job and dreams into motion.  With her business beginning to grow, Yolima is advocating for better conditions and transparency within the coffee industry. So sit back, grab your cup of coffee, and read about how one woman is already changing the coffee industry, starting within her own business. We are honored to interview Julia Behlendorf @where.is.julia, a barista from Copenhagen, Denmark, who discovered that purpose and passion in the coffee industry is the definition of success. Moving to Copenhagen for her job in marketing, Julia quickly realized that a career sitting behind a computer screen was not the life she wanted.  What she did want was a place of solitude and camaraderie, something she found in her local coffee shop, Roast Coffee.   A few words with the manager and a few days of training led to a full-time position as a barista.  Julia was more than thrilled to work at a coffee shop that provided customers with a premium cup of coffee while also providing opportunities and growth for coffee farmers all over the world.   Every day she strives to not only serve the best coffee with the biggest smile, but also strives to follow her passion and reach the pinnacle of success.  That success, she says, can only be accomplished when one does what makes them happy and satisfied, not what others think they should do.   — Read the Julia’s full story with the link in the bio, or visit our website notabarista.org Story by volunteer writer Kenyatta Fishoe Want to share your coffee story? To think that this year has run by in the blink of an eye. 2022 has made us explore new territories, try new ideas, and discover new things about the coffee industry. As we look further into the new year, it is necessary that we take some time to look back and reflect on all our achievements throughout the year. *Coffee Wristbands *MOMENTEM grinder *Audio stories *Podcast *New stories *101 Coffee Stories *Donations and charity *Online events Finally, in 2023, we hope to rack up the air miles and travel more with our volunteers from all over the world. We also aspire to sell more wristbands and help more people than ever before. Since the year is coming to an end, we’d like to say a huge thank you to our interns, volunteers, followers, and supporters who have helped us during 2022. I’M NOT A BARISTA would truly not be where it is today without each and every one of you, so thank you! Our goal for 2023 is the same as it’s always been—making a real impact in the coffee community on a worldwide scale. With each passing year, we hope to make an even bigger impact than the year before. So stay tuned; we have updates coming soon! Hello guys, It has been a while since our last update. Thank you all for the DMs. We are okay. Unfortunately, Micky has been sick for a while, and he is the one to blame for not updating Instagram. So here are some quick updates: 1. 101 Coffee Stories will continue, we didn’t reach our funding goal on Kickstarter this time, but we won’t let it affect our mission - empower coffee people in the industry. Currently, our content writer interns are working hard on the book. So don’t worry; you will get this book in 2023. A big shout out to our fantastic interns Nathierah, Emma, and Philip.
 2. After almost 2 year’s R&D, our MOMENTEM is finally ready for mass production. In 2023 Spring, we will visit China, check our manufacturer, and do the final QC to ensure that MOMENTEM will be perfect.
 3. We recently tried Little Red Book (小红书)in China, surprisingly, we received tremendous support, and within a few days, we sold more than 100 wristbands. This means we can finally make our promise - donating $500 to Adelitas Coffee Farm. Thank you, Fatima @coacoffee for connecting us.
 4.  As far as we know, our partners Tanty @tjhartono (Indonesia), and Common Ground Cafe @commonground.cafe (Malaysia) will make their donations again soon to help their local coffee community. Great job!!!
 5.  If you want to do good with us, become a @coffeewristbands charity partner today. If you want to share your coffee stories, check the link in the bio and submit them today. You may have a chance to have your story in our coming book 101 Coffee Stories :)  #iamnotabarista #baristaonbike #barista #speicaltycoffee #coffeestories #love #coffeelover #coffeelove #coffeecommunity #colombia #coffeeroaster #coffeefarmer #brewbar #咖啡师 #咖啡 #バリスタ #باريستا #قهوة #コーヒー #café #caffè #Kahve #кофе #бариста #niteliklikahve  https://www.instagram.com/p/CmYw-xZrXom/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Today is the last day of Coffee Rewinds, and it is also the last day of our 101 Coffee Stories campaign on Kickstarter. We want to give this special day to a particular person, I’M NOT A BARISTA’s first supporter, a home brewer, a barista champion, or a coffee entrepreneur; his name is Sulaiman Alalawi. We thank Sulaiman for his tremendous support since 2019. You are a true inspiration for us all. We have seen how you developed your skills each year and became a champion, and we know your future will be as bright as the stars in the sky, and we can’t wait to meet you again. — "We learn more from our failures than from our successes. Not only do we find out what doesn't work so that we can adjust our future attempts, we learn about ourselves in the process and gain a bit of empathy towards others that might be struggling as well." Sorry, all supporters. This time, we are not able to bring the book 101 Coffee Stories to life. However, we believe everyone’s voice within the coffee community still deserves to be heard, and we want to make this book happen in one way or another. 1. What happens next?
If you are a backer of 101 Coffee Stories on Kickstarter, there is nothing you need to do. You will not be charged, so don’t worry.

If you want to continue supporting us and this book. We want to hear your opinion. 2. Survey
We want to know your opinion about this book. Do you need the audio book? What is the book size you want? And more…. So please take a few minutes to participate a short survey, this will help us refine our strategy, and make sure our next attempt will be a success.

Please use the link in bio and fill out the survey. Thank you. — Want to share your story? Today’s coffee story is dedicated to her because we want to let her personality inspire you as much as it has inspired us. If you are a fan of I’M NOT A BARISTA, you must know this cool, artistic, coffee girl from Turkey. Barista, designer, assistant coffee roaster or what we would simply call, an artist. That’s only a few words that can describe Nükhet Çubukçular @blckhoneygirl. “For me, coffee is a matter of respect. It connects people. The coffee community inspires me every day” Article by Vasileia Fanarioti. Please read the full article with the link in our bio. — *Project update: There are only 2 days left till the 101 Coffee Stories campaign ends on Kickstarter. Due to the inability to reach our funding goal, this project will ultimately fail. It’s a very brave thing to be a risk taker. To put yourself out there and take the chance that you might fall flat on your face is no easy task, but it can also be extremely rewarding. We recently had the privilege of meeting a woman who is not afraid to take risks and make the most out of life: Niki Di Landa Niki Di Landa was born in Bologna, Italy, and grew up in northern Greece. She is half-Greek, half-Italian, and has as she calls it “a dual nationality and a dual mentality”. “I went back to my childhood thoughts. I thought about what I wanted to do when I was a kid, how I imagined my life. I remembered I had the most fun when I was working in the hospitality industry during the summer season. I thought well, maybe there is something there.” Article by Vasileia Fanarioti. Not so long ago Mbonisi Bamala @iam_mbonisi was ignorant to the joy of coffee and clueless of the monumental part it would grow to play in his life. Currently based in UAE with Zimbabwean roots, coffee for Mbonisi was a distant phenomenon and a traditionally luxury commodity; the limited experience he did have involved tasteless powered brews which never caught his interest. “The whole story from bean to cup inspired me to focus more on the craft and execute the job properly”. Outside of coffee, Mbonisi is a family man. He loves spending time with those who know him best and when he’s not enjoying his speciality V60 pour-over, you might find him relaxing with a cold beer. He is enthused by encouraging baristas to stick with their trade, despite difficult conditions and more often than not a distorted balance between working hours and pay. Article by Louisa Campbell. “In Mexico, there is a popular saying – coffee smells better than it tastes.” Or so Guadalupe Delgadillo @g_delgadillo thought. It took a local Mexican Guerrero double espresso with milk to change her mind. In the middle of a busy open market full of fresh fruit and vegetables, the fresh scent of ground coffee stopped her in her tracks in the hunt for almonds. “Coffee isn’t just a transaction but an expression of personal desire.” If someone likes coffee with milk, then cappuccinos are always a great idea – it’s all based on personal preference. When it comes to coffee, Margarita Amelina considers communication to be an essential part of the process. This is a lesson that has stayed with her throughout her 10-year-long career, in the coffee industry.  “As a coach, I would advise aspiring baristas to never overestimate their coffee knowledge.” Article by Talia Goury.
