Can I ask why do you ship Sunflowyr? Like they never speak to each other in the show. I don't get that ship pls educate me
I ship Sunflowyr because I really like how they complement each others personalities. Yang is assertive and outgoing, whereas Ren is more reserved and tranquil, I feel like they would bring out the best in each other.
I also feel like they would relate to each other over the loss in their lives, Yang lost both her Mothers and her Father became depressed and reclusive, and Ren lost his parents as well. The fact that Rens parents were probably attacked/murdered by Ravens tribe also adds interest to this ship because angst aha
Also some personal facts - they are just so incredibly pretty together?? Their ship name is probably the cutest of the fandom. Both of their names are Chinese, imagine how cute it would be if they spoke Mandarin to each other?? Just because they haven’t really interacted in the show doesn’t mean it still can’t be shipped. Sometimes rarepairs are the best sort of ship because theres literally none of the drama and all of the personal interpretation to suit the ship to yourself. Let your imagination run wild.
(Before Ren//ora shippers begin to say that Nora is an opposite to Ren’s personality aswell, I’m aware of this. I just see Nora’s general nature as very excitable, over the top and hyper, which in my mind is too far in the opposite direction, if you get what I mean? I also think that their relationship at this point feels more like a sibling relationship which is why I don’t ship it romantically)

Thinking about the Jaune Squire au again…
And what if, in the squire au, Qrow found Ren and Nora after their village got attacked? He likely would have brought them back to Tai and Summer. Obviously, this would make Ruby and Yang childhood friends with Ren and Nora. I imagine not much about their personalities would change.
Alternatively, Raven finds them and raises them in the tribe. Ren would stay basically the same but Nora would be much ‘edgier’ so to speak.

This could be before Watts joined Salem but after he left Atlas. He hears about an assassin named Marcus (possibly through an Agent of Salem) and pays him to kill Pietro.
Or Watts himself recruited Marcus into the Salem cult
jaune squire au: For how Mercury knows Penny pre-Beacon. Is Mercury's father trying to assassinate Pietro Polendina and brings Mercury along as a distraction so as to get close to his target. Unfortanly for him, Nicholas Schnee was there at the time and wrecked his shit.
Ooh, good idea… semi-long response here. I’ve been brainstorming all of this lol
And after this, Nicholas gets Marcus locked up and he takes Mercury in. This is in hopes of undoing whatever brainwashing Marcus has done to him.
At first he’s just an angry teenage boy and maybe when Nicholas treats with respect instead of a tool, he latches onto that and hates Jaune at first because he’s unknowingly scared of being discarded because he thinks Nicholas favors Jaune.
And then he sees how clearly Jaune and Weiss like eachother, so he sees it as just another way Jaune seems to be favored. So it’s less a true love triangle (at first) and more just Mercury trying to ‘steal’ Weiss from Jaune.
He outgrows this, of course, after Penny is built and he meets her. He gets close to her and he finally seems to have someone that understands somewhat of being treated as ‘just a tool/weapon’. At this point, he starts to develop feelings for Penny but rejects it at first because “she’s not human” but not realizing that’s exactly what he hates being seen as.
And to wrap it up, basically, Weiss is uncomfortable by Mercury until he spills to her (and Jaune) that he thinks he likes Penny, expecting them to laugh at him being in love with an Android. And is shocked when the two are genuinely supportive.
Or! Mercury meets Penny and all that but they’re only friends and Mercury begins to genuinely like Weiss. When he meets Emerald at Beacon (who also was not recruited by Cinder and instead grew up as an orphan alongside Sun and Blake), they relate to eachother being in love with people that don’t reciprocate (Sun in Emerald’s case) and develop feelings once they move on and find other points to relate to eachother on. Shared interests and such.
Aaand I’m sorry for such a long answer but I saw this and the ideas just came spilling out when I got this ask.

Hmm… I want to say yes but with how canon divergent this is, I’m not sure how I could make that happen. Unless, in a desperate act to escape justice, Marcus busts Mercury’s legs so resources have to go to helping Mercury instead of capturing him. It doesn’t work, of course, as he still gets arrested with even more charges than before but Nicholas personally commissions prosthetic legs for Mercury from Pietro.

Platonic ladybug is so slept on. Let the two book worms actually be friends RT! If Beacon allowed clubs, I could see Ruby and Blake trying to create one. And I think it would consist of them, Weiss, and Velvet. Ren and Yang might join too, but Yang probably would only read the selected book if she felt like it and skip out on the discussion meetings. And Sun might join just to spend time with Blake

I’m going on the assumption you mean ships involving only RWBY
Ladybug- I like that they’re both socially awkward and book nerds. I think they’d be very supportive and they’d never run out of things to talk about if they read books together
Monochrome- Romeo and Juliet. Need I say more?
FreezerBurn- similar to Ladybug, but on the opposite side. They’re the more extroverted members of the team and also supportive and understanding of eachother.
