So yes we went to see the new horror movie Abigail earlier this week. I was like little ballerina vampire? sure why not?

the premises of the movie might sound a bit silly but it is actually pretty good! I really enjoyed it. I don't feel that it was a horror movie it is billed as such but I didn't feel it was I didn't find it scary and there was no real jumps or anything I kinda of felt it was a bit more of a dark comedy. It had more humor in it then scares in my opinion.

They also leaned into the silly idea of the movie itself with the characters commenting on how crazy and outlandish the situation is involving a little ballerina vampire.

Your basic story is this group of criminals are hired to kidnap this little girl and hold her for ransom for 24 hours they soon find out that not everything is as it seems when they are locked into this mansion and are set upon but a cute lil pink tutu wearing vampire as she prances around tearing them apart one by one.

the movie has some really nice practical and visual effects as well as some nice make-up work too.

The acting was good too from all involved especially from Alisha Weir who plays the title character of Abigail. I bet she had tons of fun working on this movie. but everyone did an amazing job.

but yeah I thought it was a good movie it was crazy and interesting and I felt it was a bit different then the usual vampire stuff. So if you are curious about the movie I would say give it it watch.

So we went to see the new horror movie The First Omen which is a prequel to the 1976 movie The Omen. I do like the original movie and the remake as well we went to see The Omen remake on opening night June 6, 2006 (thats right 6/6/06) now were I thought the original one and the remake were good the others weren't that good Damien: Omen II was alright and the 3rd Omen III: The Final Conflict was just plain awful especially the ending. I remember vaguely there was a 4th one but also some failed TV projects too.

but being The Omen is a interesting franchise I wanted to see this one. I can say I wasn't disappointed as I mentioned it is a prequel to the original movie and focuses on the character of Margaret (played by Nell Tiger Free) who is going to become a nun and if brought to Rome to serve the church but while there she encounters overwhelming darkness and learns the secrets of her past and ultimately becomes the mother to the antichrist who is known as Damien in the original movies.

Now I can say that this was very scary there were a few good jumps in it though but ultimately it is just very creepy and has alot of disturbing imagery but over all I think it totally captures the feel, heart and soul of the original movie. I feel that it was shot and written with so much love for the original 1976 movie.

The music is a big part of it too and you can tell they didn't want to change it to much from the original score. I feel they wanted this movie to be perfectly matched to the original one like to the point it feels that this was made in the 70s and you can watch this one and then watch the original and it should feel like it hasn't skipped a beat like the original is actually a sequel to this.

There is alot of things that are totally Omen related in it visual style and some of the things that happen are reminiscent of the original movies the hanging scene gave me chills because it is very reminiscent and almost identical to the one in the 1976 movie. Also the scene where the guy get cut in half is a really cool visual effect in this and your like "oh wow!"

but other then that the acting was pretty great and I thought the movie was over all really good and it is the perfect set up for the original movie it even has a bit of a spine tingling ending. but even with the ending it does leave you with some questions tho.. but over all it was good and if you enjoyed the original movie I would highly recommend it.

Our Recent trip to Halifax

So yup we went on our weekend away this past weekend we left early Friday morning sadly I didn't take a pic at our usual gas stop reason being I was asleep lol I was up late Thursday night so I was napping on the drive up. So we got there around 10-10:30am I think so we went and had a lil bit to eat being we didn't have breakfast before leaving home after that we went and did a lil bit of looking around before checking into the hotel we didn't stay at the usual spot but somewhere new and different it was owned by the same company tho. It looked a bit shabby on the outside like the building needs some work but when we went in and up the the room the room was really nice! I would have to say I was impressed by it. We stayed in for a lil bit before heading back out and went and visited some friends and spent the evening over with them which ended a really nice Friday

So Saturday we went and did alot of looking around and some shopping and visited all the usual places apparently they are opening a Hot Topic in the Halifax Shopping center later on this month which will be cool We'll have to go in the next time we're there we also go in to the one when we go to Moncton also of course we went to Toys R Us but I made that a separate post and we went to GameStops and pretty much everywhere we did do some pick-ups but not to much being it was still somewhat after Easter some places still seemed a bit picked over. but we did have a great and fun Saturday morning/afternoon. As for supper we of course decided to try to go to the Casino to have the all you can eat buffet I was a bit apprehensive (I think would be a good word) about them being total dicks to me and throwing me out or attempt to throw me out for no real reason and I just didn't want the hassle! but we went to try it, we got dressed up kinda nice and found a great parking space and we went in I stuck extremely close to the person I was with I didn't want them to be out of my sight and vice versa so we go up to a security podium there. and showed our Membership card and… The security guard just waved us through!!

I was like shocked and kinda relieved to the point that once we got past the entrance way and actually on to the Casino floor I was like "We made it, past the the front desk with out any problems!!" and with that we went to the dinning area and got into the Buffet area now we did have an amazing meal I loved it so much and was totally stuffed afterwards but while there I did have an interesting exchange with one of the buffet workers which getting my food one of the workers noticed my green Tomb Raider necklace and he asks me if I was a fan of Tomb Raider? and I was like Yes! and then he asks if I was a fan of the movies or the games? and I of course say Both! Then he asks me a strange question "Have you played the other Tom Clancy Games?" and I give him a strange look and say "No..?" and he has a shocked look on his face and I say "Tomb Raider is not a Tom Clancy Game" and he reassures me that it is and I say "No, no its not" and walk away back to our table. so this kinda bugged me a bit the rest of the night and all the way home so when I got home I wanted to see what the hell he was talking about so I googled "tom clancy tomb raider" as I said Tomb Raider isn't a Tom Clancy IP it was a lil Mission thing in the Ghost Recon Breakpoint games its basically an Easter egg treasure hunt themed after the Tomb Raider franchise in celebration of the franchise's 25th anniversary. So it was a promotional thing no different then what they did in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, Brawlhalla, Fortnite,ect.

So as we do when ever we leave Halifax we got to Costco. We bring our insulated bags with us cause we'll pick up some frozen foods and all kinds of stuff for the house. So we do our shopping and we get to the check out and the woman asks for the Membership card so I give it to her and she looks at the picture on the back and looks at me and says "this is not you" and I look at her kinda strangely I'm like "yeah I know, its them" (the person I'm with,the person behind me) and she tells me "I'm sorry you can't hand me someone else's Membership card" which I think is totally stupid the owner of the card is right there we're obviously there together so I'm like "are you you serious?" and she is like "Yes, So what would you like me to do?" and I'm like "I would like you to ring this stuff in, so we can pay for it and go" and she says "I'm sorry I can't do that its against store policy" and hands me the card back. So the person I'm with and I look at each other kinda dumbfounded being that this has never happened before and I hand them the card and then they hand it back to the woman at the register and she scans it then hands it back to them which in turn they hand it back to me and I put it back in my wallet and while I'm doing that she is ringing in the stuff!! I feel that this was one of the most asinine things ever. When it came time to pay I was surprised she didn't kick up a fuss about store policy when I pulled a debit card out of my wallet to pay for the stuff. I feel like this was just to waist time because like I said this never happened any other time we were in there.

but all in all we had a good time! it was nice to get away for the weekend and there is no doubt we'll be back to Halifax again probably during vacation time this summer if not before.

Our first pick ups for our weekend away were 2 Transformers Studio Series Core Class figs one of Decepticon Mohawk from Transformers The last Knight and the other a Decepticon Frenzy (Red) from the animated classic The Transformers The Movie I was waiting for and looking for Mohawk so I was excited and happy to get him but they also had the Frenzy (Red) too so I picked him up as well I love Mohawk's crazy design and I can't wait to set Frenzy (Red) up with his piston arms.

Not only did we pick up the Transformers Core figures while we were away but we also got another one I was looking for Transformers Legacy Evolution Trashmaster! I wanted to get him because I just thought his design was very interesting. That was it I just like how he looks with bulkiness and his backhoe looking arm. So I was on the look out for him and grabbed him up when I seen him.

Another thing I picked up while away in Halifax last weekend was some new WWE stuff! we picked up a couple of Elite Collection figures. we got a Elite 106 Roxanne Perez and also an Elite 107 Cora Jade! So I was happy with that.

Also while I was away I picked up the WWE Ultimate Edition Asuka much like the Ronda Rousey I picked up a few years ago the figure is very detailed and I love how it comes with the oni mask and her furry jacket too! I don't think there is alot of Asuka maybe 3-4? but if you are looking to get one this is the one you should get!

Now on the heels of Godzilla x Kong The New Empire there is still all kinds of merch around and I did pick up a couple more lil things to go with the stuff I got for my Birthday. I seen these at one of the places we went to I got a lil like 2 inch Godzilla Evolved figure and another Godzilla Evolved figure that is like 3 and a half inches tall. I think their cool and I'm going to see if there is a spot for them in the living room where I have most of my smaller one if not I'll probably put them in the computer room.

One thing we look for when we go away on trips and stuff is we look at gaming things and see if there is anything that we want for a good price. I didn't see anything for Playstation that I wanted to get but GameStop did have select Switch games on sale! so I bought my very first Switch game! so I got The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild brand new for $50! which I thought was a great price! they had some other ones too like I think Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing I think? but I happily picked the Zelda one and for that price you can't go wrong!

Now what Halifax trip will be complete with out a trip to Toys R Us! we went to the one in Dartmouth as we usually do and had a nice look around but I personally didn't see anything that I really wanted but the person I was with did pick up a few things they were looking for. I also took a quick look at the new HMV store/section there was ppl busy organizing it so I didn't want to get in their way but it'll be great the next time we go back and I'll have a better look at stuff usually thats it there is just one..

but then Friday night we found out that there was a NEW location over on Chain Lake Dr! which I was excited about and we always go over to Chain Lake Dr being there is a GameStop and stuff over there so Saturday we went over to see the new store It was opened and it a bit smaller then the main one but there was plenty of empty shelves and pegs being they were still in the process of stocking stuff and getting everything set up. I think its going to be awesome once they get it all set up and we'll most defiantly be going there now too when ever we are in Halifax.

While out for a run Thursday afternoon we stopped int Wal-Mart and picked of this!! we got it for $10 which is an amazing price I thought So we are going to replace our original DVD with this.

So we finally went to see the next chapter of the MonsterVerse GodzillaxKong: The New Empire. I was super excited to go see this because as a Godzilla fan I have been enjoying this series. Also yes there was plenty of collectable goodies for this movie which of course you can see here.

So as for the movie itself I would say I pretty much loved it I thought it was great myself. I loved all the monster action and all the smashing and crashing. You can tell how these movies evolved from the 2014 Godzilla to now being in the 2014 movie it was very I'd say human centric and as they went on the monsters pretty much took center stage. I feel that the human involvement in this movie was very minimal and were there when they needed to be. and that Warner Bros was all "they want monsters we'll give them monsters!" because I feel this was like 85% monster action!

Now with the story I do feel much like the previous Godzilla vs Kong that the story is focused more on Kong then Godzilla. Kong is the main character in this movie and does get the most screen time. but as for the story itself if kinda is telling two at the same time a Kong Story and a Godzilla story and going back and forth until the 2 meet up again. I don't know the timeline of this I don't remember if they mention anything but I think it does take place shortly after the previous movie maybe a year or 2?

Your basic story is this Kong is living in the Hollow Earth while Godzilla is above. Kong is still lonely believing he is the last of his kind until he finds a hidden underground area with many like himself but it is ruled by a ruthlessly despotic ape known only as "The Skar King" Kong of course comes into conflict with him and gets the upper hand for the moment until the Skar King unleashes his ultimate weapon a kiju named Shimo who has a devastating ice attack causing Kong to retreat and seek help from the only one who can match Shimo's power the King of the Monsters Godzilla! after a short scuffle Godzilla agrees to Help Kong and the Monster action goes into full swing!

Now I like I said I love this movie I thought it was every exciting and very fun and delved more into the mythology of the characters of Godzilla and Kong I loved how they introduced some more new monsters like The Skar King and the little minikong Suko who was a real bastard when you meet him but of course became a friend of Kong's as Kong earned his trust. I also love the return of Mothra as well. The animation and character work for this movie was impressive too especially with Kong and the other ape characters as well as Godzilla who seemed to have a greater sense of motion in this movie as you can see him both running and jumping.

Also like I said the monster action is amazing Ken Watanabe's character Dr. Ishiro Serizawa said it best in the first movie of this series back in 2014 "Let them Fight" and this movie takes that to heart and lets them fight! the fight in Egypt is alot of fun but its pretty much not until they get to Rio and then everything goes crazy! but it is so much fun to watch and I would say it is very satisfying all the smashing and crashing and buildings going flying as the monsters tear everything apart.

but in the end this is just an amazingly fun movie. There is plenty of action and its exciting and goes deeper into the lore and I feel it is having lots of fun expanding on this world and this universe. One thing with these movies is I would like to see more classic characters appear like Anguirus and maybe Gigan but I also like how they are creating newer monster for these movies too. I'm just enjoying everything in these movies and loving it all! but yeah if you are enjoying the MonsterVerse as much as I am then I would highly recommend this one.

So yeah with our viewing of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire there was plenty of collectable goodies!! cups, buckets and even plushies! and I was told to get what ever I wanted so I did! we picked up all things Godzilla of course.

Now as for the Bucket I don't think you can call it a bucket it more of a collectable tin. it's rectangular and about 11-12inches tall and of course is made of metal. As to what it is? I think its suppose to be some kind of monster containment unit and this one would be to house Godzilla. there are plenty of Monarch logos and codes and classification wording on it. Also there is some really nice Godzilla artwork on the inside you can't see it clearly in the video so I had to focus a light down the top of it so it would give you a better look at things. Also you could get 3 different ones Godzilla, Kong and Skar King. I have to say I like it its cool and different then the usually stuff you get.

Now as for the Cup it is the regular size one it say 32oz on the bottom which is roughly 946 milliliters. It is another super glossy photo cup with a character wrap around image Shimo, Godzilla, Kong and Skar King and has the movies logo on it near the bottom. The topper is really nice and extremely detailed I think it is one of the most detailed toppers we ever got. they of course had different ones like the tins they had Godzilla, Kong and Skar King and of course I went 100% Godzilla.

Now as for the Plushie when I seen them I was like "OMG! they're so cute!!" and I had to get one of course. so I looked through them and of course picked out a Godzilla. They had a couple of others one of Kong and one of the minikong character Suko. They looked good too but I of course just wanted a Godzilla. but yeah he is cute and is about 8-9 inches so he is not super small. but that is it got the GxK stuff I'm really happy with everything we got.

So it been a week and my Birthday celebrations are over for another year lol but it was great! as I said we did the family stuff Tuesday and then we did the stuff with friends when everyone came over for WrestleMaina weekend. We had some technical issue with WrestleMaina which I thought was odd but we were able to watch it and I thought it was a great show for the most part. I didn't get much in the way of physical presents this year mostly money and gift card which was good being we'll be going away this weekend and there is stuff I want to pick up the end of the month. but I did get a few physical things I got all the Godzilla things from Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire I wanted for my Birthday which was awesome! I Got the large scale 11-12inch Giant Godzilla Evolved figure as well as the smaller 6inch deluxe "Battle Roar" Godzilla Evolved figure and of course the small 6inch basic Godzilla Evolved figure so I was happy with that of course and its going to be cool to put the Giant Godzilla Evolved one next to the one I got for Godzilla vs. Kong

I did get a few lil Easter treats on Sunday 😄 I don’t like alot of chocolate so the Easter Bunny usually gives me lil something else that I’ll enjoy. I got these cool lil Frozen figures/dolls of Anna and Elsa. One set from the first movie and another set from the second movie. I think their great I love them. I did also get a tiny bit of chocolate tho of course I did get a lil basket of Cadbury Creme Eggs being I love those and I get some every year at Easter time. also my Dad came over and gave me a lil chocolate bunny as he does every year 😁 but anyway I do hope everyone had a good Easter this year too. 😃

So yes this week we went to see Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and I can say if you told me like 5-10 years ago that we would be going to see Ghostbusters 4 (technically 5 but we don't count the awful stupidness of the 2016 movie) I would think that you would be totally crazy and high on something lol but yes we went to see it and there was some collectables which you can see here.

but as for the movie I absolutely loved it! I thought it was great. I really enjoyed it I felt it fleshed out the world a bit more. They are back in the Firehouse but also they have now a research facility that studies ghosts and the paranormal and develops all kinds of new technologies and everything which I thought was really interesting.

Now the basic story is this Its 2 years after the events of the previous movie and the Spenglers have moved to New York City and are now living in the Firehouse and working for Winston Zeddemore and his Zeddemore Industries as the Ghostbusters. while some family drama takes place Ray recives a mysterious artifact of unimaginable power at the bookstore. He at others at the new research facility try to study its power is unleashed and the evil force of Garraka enters the world and plan to use its icy powers to destroy the city and the world and it up to the Ghostbusters New and Old to once again team up to save the world.

Now how I feel about these movies is With afterlife it felt like you were returning back from somewhere like you moved away and you are moving back again and your seeing how things changed and your getting use to being back and it feels new and different but familiar all at the same time. and with his movie your all settled back in and your comfortable it feels like your home. That is how I felt about this movie this is where it should be this is how it should be. So I was completely happy with this movie.

also of course there is a character return that made me laugh William Atherton returns as Walter Peck who is now Mayor Peck and when I seen him on screen I had to resist the urge to shout out "That man has no dick!" lol and of course being a Dickless Mayor he wants to and succeeds in shutting down the Ghostbusters temporarily before shit really goes down.

but there was plenty of references and call backs to the original 2 films like the Statue of liberty coming alive in Ghostbusters 2 and even real world stuff like the toys and the ceral and all the merchandising and the Ray Parker Jr. music video it was all amazing and even like the scene when they are leaving the library and Ray runs into the librarian ghost again and once again I had to resist the urge to shout out "Go get her Ray!"

The visual I thought were perfect for this the ghosts were really well done especially the return of Slimer who I thought was handled perfectly and of course the movie's main villain when you see him actually on screen he is pretty impressive. One thing I was kinda disappointed about was when the Containment Unit is opened I was hopeing for a bit of a montage when the ghosts spilled out like they did in the original movie.

but of course people online have to hate on it a bit for stupid reasons I heard some say that it is worse then the 2016 movie which is just crazy to me because with a comment like that I wonder if they seen both movies? but another complaint was that it wasn't "scary enough" which its not suppose to be scary.. Ghostbusters isn't a Horror franchise its not The Conjuring lol Ghostbusters is a Action/Comedy/Fantasy movie and there was plenty of nice action and some great comedy this will give you some good smiles and giggles and a few laughs.

another thing I didn't get was people complaining that Ghostbusters went Woke with Phoebe's "LGBQ Romance" Now I honestly didn't see it that way I didn't see it as any type of "LGBQ Romance" it is established in the previous movie that Phoebe has no friends at all and is a loner because she is "different" due to her intelligence and in this she still feels out of place because of that and that is why I think she has a close relationship with Ray and spends alot of time at the book store with him because he is similar to her and they share common interests. Then she meets the girl ghost Melody (played by Emily Alyn Lind) and here is someone who is technically her age who seemingly wants to hang out with her and supposedly thinks she is cool and they strike up a friendship being this is Phoebe's very first female friend she is somewhat award about it that is how I seen it. I don't see it as a "LGBQ Romance" or anything like that, but I do feel that people are going to see what they want to see and personally I feel that it was purely she made friends with the ghost girl and that's it.

but other then that I didn't have any real problem with this movie I thought it was great I loved it. it was fun and interesting with nice action and visuals it has some good humor and I think this is the way that the series should be going. If there wasn't anymore after this I would be totally happy because you always wanted a Ghostbusters 3 and with this you got more then you could have ever dreamed of with both a 3 and a 4! but I do feel that there could be plenty of more adventures in the future we'll just have to wait and see! and also at the end of this one it said "For Ivan" just like Afterlife said "For Harold" which was a really nice touch.

but yeah just like Afterlife the final thing I can say is it sounds like Ghostbusters it looks like Ghostbusters and it felt like Ghostbusters. also if you enjoyed Ghostbusters: Afterlife you should go see this also don’t forget there is a silly little mid credits scene too

So yes With our viewing of Ghostbusters:Frozen Empire there was actually had quite a bit of stuff for the movie but not alot of stuff I was super interested in. The main thing they had as you can is is the Slimer popcorn character tub. where you would put the popcorn in his mouth and it looks like he is holding a popcorn bag It is made from a somewhat green translucent plastic to give it that ghostly appearance. I think the detail on it is very good and it is very cool I thought Sadly there was no cups to go with it which I was a bit disappointed about but what can you do? Also they has some "Mini Puff" plushies that I was looking at but I was really interested in them and finally they had some Blind box figures which as you know if you follow my post I'm not a fan of. So all I got was the Slimer bucket.
