suna prepares himself to be yelled at whenever he messes something up or makes a mistake. one day, he's helping osamu do some dishes and he accidentally drops a bowl and it breaks.
he and osamu both jump at the sound of the crash, osamu jumping back from the sink.
suna, on the other hand, freezes. his anxiety spikes. he can hear his heartbeat in his ears, feel his hands shake and his body go numb. he doesn't look at osamu, ready for the yelling to start.
"shit," osamu hisses and suna closes his eyes.
"are you okay? you didnt cut yourself, did you?" osamu asks and takes suna's hands.
"I'm sorry," suna whispers, still bracing himself. his hands won't stop shaking.
"hm? oh, don't worry about it. I'll grab the broom." suna watches osamu's feet take careful steps back. "don't move. I don't want you to hurt yourself."
suna forces himself to lift his head up. to watch as osamu grabs a broom and cleans up the pieces, careful to get every shard of porcelain from the floor.
suna watches, heart still racing.
osamu dumps the dustpan into the garbage and turns to suna. his brows furrow. "are you okay? don't feel too bad. we've needed to get a new set anyway." osamu walks closer. "what's wrong?"
suna swallows. "you're not yelling." his voice is barely audible. he has to force the words out. he slips his hands into his hoodie pocket to hide the shaking.
a look of disbelief crosses osamu's face before he schools his features. suna knows the look isn't directed at him. not really.
"do you want me to?" osamu asks and suna shakes his head. "okay. I wasn't going to either way. it was an accident. it happens. just the other day, tsumu broke a glass, remember?" suna nods.
osamu gives a gentle smile before continuing, "so it's okay. you're okay. I'm just glad you didn't get hurt."
suna closes his eyes and takes a breath, willing his body into relaxing.
"let's finish the dishes and then we can watch that movie you brought, yeah?"
suna nods. "yeah."

i think ushijima has a good singing voice, beautiful even, but his ability to match up with another person singing, or god forbid a karaoke track, is not great, to say the least. he's been dragged to karaoke on more than one occasion, by tendou, shiratorizawa vbc as a group, and by the adlers. every single time he gives a performance that leaves everyone baffled.
