1. My family. Especially my two nephews who think I’m so cool. Which is nice because I think they’re so cool. I would love to be able to sing and dance the way they do without a lick of self-consciousness.
2. The flower shop around the corner. A few months ago, a lady opened a flower shop nearby and I love buying a wee bunch of flowers for myself every now and then. They sell slightly older bunches for next to nothing and they still last all week!
3. My cat. She’s a fluffy baby who loves me unconditionally. What’s not to like?
4. Clean sheets, clean pyjamas and a bath before bed. Like being a kid again.
5. Music. Did you know in Ireland, you can just take an instrument (that you’re able to play of course) to a pub and play music with a bunch of strangers? It’s the most amazing feeling in the world. Learn a few tunes on a tin whistle and you can fit in anywhere. And there are always free pints for the musicians.

fics that are like 500 to 1200 words or so often have a particular kind of energy to me - like the author sat bolt upright in bed, struck by the most brilliant inspiration of their entire lives, and then typed as fast as their fingers would allow them to in order to capture it all before it left.
oneshots that are just a straight, clear shot from the brain to the page with no real filter in between? that's good stuff right there.
