Miniature portraits of Lady Désirée de Guerre and Lord Nicholas Cornwallis-Perkins, Viscount Mousehole, by Marie-Françoise de Guerre, Marchioness de Guerre, 1810
Both miniatures were exchanged by the couple after their betrothal. Lord Mousehole received a portrait of his dear Désirée as she received a portrait of a young viscount.

The Marquess’ Daughter
Tuesday, 09 October 1810
Whilst staying in Woodside, Lady Dominique announced that she is no longer courting Benjamin—she frets that she doth not want to lose someone who she loved. The Marquess and Marchioness were looking for a possible suitor for Lady Dominique, possibly someone whose age is closer to her, but not as older as Gilbert nor my parents.
Her parents were asking if I was capable of being her suitor—`twas quite predictable since she adored a portrait of mine as Ganymedes, displayed for a year. I would not be a naysayer to court the French Marquess, lest unless I had permission to his daughter.
She was filled with internal jealousy 'cause her friends were like… courting me. 'Tis true that I was courting Elinor, but not Jane—I only asked Jane to dance during the Marquess' ball to avoid such suspicion.

Portrait of Gilbert O’Vile, by Sir Lawrence Campbell, 1810
[Image Description: Gilbert was seen sitting against the eerie black background. He was writing a letter to his lover Viscount Mousehole with two finished letters beside him from left to right. He was also seen reading a diary once belonged to his late wife Margaret Lennox with his left hand. The diary was dated ‘1792’ which means that Margaret and Gilbert met during that year. /end image description]

Viscount Mousehole as Apollo, by Sir Lawrence Campbell, 1811
[Image description: A full-body portrait of the gloomy Viscount Mousehole cosplaying as Apollo whilst leaning to a column. The muse was nude but covered by a dark navy blue scarf. His head was wrapped with laurel leaves. His head glow like some portraits of Apollo during the Renaissance to Classical periods. The subject stands against the moors where the clouds formed against him. /end of ID]

Missing an Old Friend
Saturday, 10 June 1809
I have been with Daniel since we entered Trinity College and we were quite inseparable. It's been years since I was separated from an old friend from Eton, yet I have received a letter from a friend who looked at me as a brother. Benjamin was two years my senior, and he is a grandson of the Marquess of Stratsberry. We've been sending letters after we separated since he is in Woolwich serving the Military.
He announced me that he is courting Lady Dominique de Guerre, who is the second youngest daughter of the Marquess de Guerre.
I was flabbergasted that a friend was courting a daughter whose mother was a lady-in-waiting of the late-Queen of France. Her father was a former companion of the King of France who was executed by the revolutionaries. Poor man, he was a great lad until he was exiled in England even his family are unable to go back to France until the war is done.
