While we're on the subject of Greek Monsters being Victims
I honestly feel pretty bad for the Minotaur.
First some backstory; A prince named Minos was competing with his brother from the throne of their island, Crete, and decided the best way to get a one up on his brother was to show the gods favored him. So he prayed to Poseidon for his favor and Poseidon decided, "Yeah, sure", and gifted Minos a pure white bull as a sign of favor.
(A side note, historically ancient Crete had a huge thing for Bulls, most of their surviving culture heavily featured bovine sigils which might explain how this story came to be and so on).
The Cretans, who loved Bulls, of course recognized what this meant and Minos ascended to the throne. Of course, here is where the classic mortal arrogance steps on divine pride comes in. See, Minos was supposed to sacrifice the bull to Poseidon as a show of thanks but Minos decided that he liked the white bull far too much to simply kill, so he sacrificed a different bull and kept Poseidon's cow hoping he could have his cake and eat it too. Poseidon was reasonably a bit pissed that this mortal reneged on their very simple deal and decided some wildly indiscriminate divine judgement was called for.
Poseidon decided the most poetic thing to do was to make Minos' wife love the Bull even more than anyone on Crete, even Minos... by, like, a lot. Like, a lot. Long story short, Minos had a bastard son who was half bull and was horrified. According to the myth, the Minotaur was originally raised by Minos' wife but quickly became vicious and as an unnatural beast feasted on human flesh since it had no actual place in the food chain. To contain it, Minos tasked Daedalus to construct a massive labyrinth to contain the Minotaur.
There it would languish for years, lost in the dark and even used as a sadistic form of execution for Minos' enemies, specifically Athenian men and women handed over to Minos after he waged war with them until eventually Theseus would arrive and slay the Minotaur.
Now, you may be wondering why I would feel bad for this guy. By all accounts, the Minotaur had no chance of growing out of its monstrous ways. Very quickly it turned into a man-eating beast with violent tendencies. How can it compare to another tragic myth like Medusa?
Generally, I think the fact it had no chance to begin with is tragic in and of itself. Medusa was a victim of divine crossfire between Athena and Poseidon, while the Minotaur was a victim of Divine Circumstance. Poseidon didn't care what became of the Minotaur after it was born, merely that it came into this world to torment Minos after he was slighted by the mortal. Perhaps there was a chance it could have overcome its base instincts, but the Minotaur was from the start designed and intended to be a horrifying beast.
It was despised by Minos from the moment it drew breath, and it certainly horrified the people of ancient Greece. It must have grown physically much faster than it did mentally, and with an unnatural mix of animalistic instinct and human mentality would have made it difficult to handle without being able to rip men and women limb from limb. It would spend the rest of its life wandering a dark maze, feasting on whoever Minos threw in there to survive.
I think the last point that gets me is that monsters don't have names. Minotaur is an anglicized version of its Greek name, Minotauros, meaning the Bull of Minos, which was a description of what it was but it also had a name; Asterion, after Minos' foster father. It was a half-animal that probably deserved to be put down, but in the end it was a thing that was brought into a world that would despise it and never had the chance to learn and be better.
It makes me wonder if the Minotaur being a mindless monster with no hope is the better option than a confused and neglected creature who had no choice but to become the beast his people saw him as.

With Lethal Company rapidly gaining popularity, its almost inevitable that the Bracken will become a Tumblr Sexy Man.
Like, some person will see the vaguely humanoid shape of the Bracken with its bright eyes, who stalks people and breaks their neck before they even know he was there and get turned on by it enough to draw a thirsty fan art of it, and then people will start referring to the Bracken like they do Sans Undertale.

internet censorship bill about to pass congress:
ao3 is facing a ddos attack from an overseas right-wing anonymous group because it contains "degeneracy and disgusting things like LGBT and NSFW".
they're not the only right-wing group that is attacking fanfiction sites because of queer & nsfw content. the Heritage foundation, the US right wing think tank that writes laws for republicans, wrote an article about how "big tech turns kids trans" in which they're advocating for the Kid's Online Safety Act to pass because it will give state attorney generals power to sue websites for "potentially harmful content towards minors". in this article they point out websites like wattpad, tumblr, tiktok, twitter as sites that GOP attorney generals can and will target for censorship if this bill passes. all places where fandom, that's mostly queer, hangs out.
if you think this bill has no chance of passing because of all the red flags it poses, think again. it currently has 38 cosponsors in the senate, and is being pushed by the democrats as a "protecting the children!!" type bill.
there are left-aligned orgs in congress rn lobbying for this bill to pass. july is extremely decisive, because if KOSA goes through to markup it'll be bundled with the Earn It act, Restrict, and all the other bad internet bills and passed as a package, completely censoring the internet forever.
if you want to learn more about the bill, go here. also sign the open letter against it here
it's ESSENTIAL that you call your members of congress, specifically Maria Cantwell (you can call from out of state) and tell them DO NOT PASS KOSA. this site here connects you to your members of congress and gives you a short simple script to read off of! super easy and doesn't take much out of your day! please do this now!!

Made to organize my mind since the game itself is pretty vague on how Legion society is constructed and the roles they have.
Until I receive word that I’m allowed to include these two marvels (Aquilifer by yeehawknight and Eques by owligator), I cannot publish the definitive version. Hope you like it!
Updated version. I kept this post since it’s the one who has more interactions. I deleted the other one.

I love that CSM is written like a superhero comic book, but specifically one from like the 60s where they pull the most batshit solutions imaginable out of their ass

You can tell by the way some people criticize the Jedi as military leaders that they do not understand how war and the military works
“The Jedi invaded Umbara for wanting to leave!”
Umbara didn’t just “want to leave”, they were a republic world that switched sides mid-war, when an ally switches sides, you declare war on them, at a minimum this is to say “you can’t just do this and expect no consequences”, but its also simple strategy, you attack your former ally so that you can prevent whatever assets they have from being used by the enemy, but also so you can hopefully regain said assets (umbara has unique and advanced technology)
have people not played Risk?
“The Jedi invaded Geonosis again!”
the separatists retook Geonosis and reactivated/built factories there to produce war material (battle droids specifically), as long as these factories were active the war would be more difficult, the Republic invaded to shut down these factories down, its just good strategy
Related, “the Jedi attacked planets during the war”
Yeah, it’s war, that’s how it works, you can’t fight a war exclusively on the defensive (especially not when the enemy has a manpower/production advantage), you have to go on the offensive so the enemy can’t build up their strength to attack (and that doesn’t even get into the humanitarian reasons to go on the offensive, the separatists are enslaving and murdering whole populations-WWII parallels anyone?-you can’t help them if you only fight defensively
“The Jedi used the Clones as meat shields/cannon fodder!”
cannon fodder has a real definition, usually being poorly trained, poorly equipped soldiers sent out for no other purpose other than to soften up the enemy for the main assault
this is not at all how the Jedi treat/command the Clones
first the Clones are highly trained (10 years of it) and well equipped-probably the best out of any SW military
second, the Jedi fight on the front lines with the Clones, that is not something you do with cannon fodder
third, nothing the Jedi ask of the Clones is really that much more than what would be asked of a soldier in a real world military
I’m sure there are other examples but these are the biggies, please suggest more if you can think of any

There does seem to be a correlation between a persons soul and their body. I remember reading an Iron Hands novel and, for clarification, the Iron Hands LOVE giving themselves augmestics and metal prosthetics. An iron hands librarian notes that while he can perceive his brothers in the warp, the older and more veteran brothers who have had time to gain more cybernetics give off a much weaker signal. The librarian straight up determines the cause to be the Iron Hands somewhat bent obsession on cybernetics and wonders if the cost of such is too great.
Ad-Mech are just as if not more obsessed, especially Hadron who probably has about 90% of their body replaced.
TL;DR
Hadron had a soul, and still has one, but since 90% of her body is cybernetics her soul has a much weaker reception in the warp.
The Veteran will wonder if Hadron has a soul with so much metal and machinery replacing her body, and the Seer Psyker will comment that they cannot perceive her like they do others, like there's an empty space where she should be...I wonder if Hadron is a Blank?
