i just can't explain how.

is sleep, the god. and i believe that because:

atlantic is the first song of the second album, second part of the trilogy if you will, a new part of the story. the song begins with a sense of a reality ("call me when they bury bodies underwater, it's blue light over murder for me") which symbolizes death (blue light in the uk means when an emergency vehicle equipment is used to indicate urgent journeys). then, we get the line "anything to get me to sleep" and there's a shift in this pre established reality ("i woke up surrounded, eyes like frozen planets") which symbolizes, in the contrary to before, life. waking up. not only as in i get out of bed, but as an emotional wake up maybe. going to sleeping being one person, waking up being different.

i personally believe that this place will become your tomb is vessel giving in to sleep, becoming part of it/they. so it makes sense that the first song of the album shows vessel getting in contact with sleep.

in the other hand i do understand why it could be sleeping as in the verb because at the end of the day the songs are plagued with sleeping methaphors. so obviously both of them are valid.

but yes. it's sleep, the god.

currently reading: nothing, just silly headcanons or small fics. my last big read was the fic "undone devotion" by @blue-lollipops-and-ice-clouds (amazing, btw).

current obsession: sleep token, obviously. been going strong since march and i don't think it'll stop soon. i am also very invested in greek mythology, like i was all my life.

Currently watching - um. mostly youtube tbh. i watched like half of this movie called the menu the other day, but all that did was reaffirm that i don't like horror movies lol. it was pretty cool but definitely not for me.

Currently reading - the way of kings by brandon sanderson, i've read it before, but that was a while ago and my memory is terrible so i'm reading it again. its really good, but damn i forgot how depressing the beginning of this book is, kaladin really Goes Through It.

Current obsession - sleep token, transformers, and sheith rn. sleep token is my latest obsession, transformers is permanently part of my brain, and lately i've been reading a bunch of sheith fics because i looove watching those idiots pine over each other for thousands of words.
