I have a few too many chins and this postpartum hair is a bit crazy but when I look at this picture I see the joy in Elliott’s face and it suddenly becomes my favorite photo! Today I will stop dwelling on the little imperfections and the things that don’t matter (like the fact that I haven’t showered or that I have 3 chins) and focus on the important things (like spending time with my sweet son and making him laugh!)

Mom shaming?!

Just wanted to take a moment and say something that’s been on my mind a lot recently...mom shaming!! Like what?! How is this a thing?! You get so much heat if you work (out of the house) and have to send your little one to daycare because that obviously 🙄 means you don’t love them enough to stay home BUT you get just as much heat if you stay home with them because obviously 🙄 you’re just sitting around all day eating bon bons and not working at all. Well I just want to say to ALL mommas if you love your child then guess what? YOU’RE AMAZING!!! Staying at home is EXHAUSTING and one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had but I LOVE it! Working and having to leave your sweet babe everyday is HARD even if you love your job! So whether you’re a SAHM or a working mom I just want to say WAY TO GO YOU’RE A ROCKSTAR! (Now don’t even get me started on breastfeeding vs formula...) But bottom line is LOVE YOUR BABIES AND IGNORE THE HATERS!

Things you don’t want to hear...

So this was my morning today! I’m getting ready (showering & even putting makeup on 🙌🏼) and Eric is downstairs feeding Elliott breakfast (or so I thought!) When all of a sudden he yells this to me...my first question was how? E: well I was getting his avocado ready and he was playing in the bathroom then I heard splashing. Second question why was he playing in the bathroom? E: Well he was happy in there...third question ok well can you wash his hands with soap and water first then hand sanitize? E: Yes on it! Also maybe let’s not let him play in the bathroom anymore! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Please tell me I’m not the only one who sometimes feels like I have 2 kids instead of 1 haha!!

Of course he started waving the minute I stopped recording 🤣

Another #naptimewin I want to share with y’all! A few days ago a blogger I follow on Instagram shared this garage door makeover and when I saw it I just knew I had to try it!!! Amazon sells the hardware for $18 so even if it ended up looking awful I figured for less than $20 it was worth a shot...spoiler alert: IT LOOKS AMAZING!! I ordered the magnetic ones (they sell peel and stick but I like the idea of being able to move them if needed!) It took less than 2 minutes to put them on and the magnets feel like they’re heavy duty so assuming no one messes with them I think they’ll withstand weather (will keep you posted!) Ok so let me paint you a picture of why this photo was taken. Yesterday Elliott and I went to Aviator Brewery with one of my mom friends and her little boy. It was a GORGEOUS day so we decided to sit out side. Elliott was getting a little restless sitting in mommy’s lap (now that he’s mobile he wants to crawl all over!) Luckily I was able to distract him with food...yepp he’s definitely my son. I had a bag of his snap peas on the table when the wind picked up and blew it over 🤦🏻‍♀️ So I decided I’d let him sit on the patio for a little bit to distract him long enough so I could finish my beer well I look over and he’s crawling straight towards his peas...he then starts laughing thinking it’s the best day ever because he can eat peas off the ground. So YES I let me child eat off the ground yesterday (full disclosure I only let him eat a couple before I decided that was enough and cleaned him up.) He didn’t get hurt, he didn’t get sick and he didn’t scream bloody murder because I wouldn’t let him. I’m not sure if this was a mom win or a mom fail but I had a very happy baby so in my book it’s a WIN! Just a friendly reminder that we all parent a little different but as long as you’re loving your little you’re doing GREAT!

Anxiously awaiting my girlfriends arrival because I am HUNGRY haha! Whipped up some chicken salad during nap and then put in on some lettuce and BAM lunch is served!!

Organized under the sink and threw away so much junk I don’t need/didn’t know I had! Hubby changed the faucets yesterday 👌🏼 but that meant he took everything out from under the sink and put it back (aka just threw it in) so it was in desperate need of being organized!!

Ok friends I want to invite you to do this challenge #phonefreefun (yes I literally just made that up on the spot) but it’s something I feel very strongly about! Eric and I have been putting our phones away and have been spending some quality time together before bed. After we put Elliott down, I pump & finish any chores we have then we both put our phones on the chargers & don’t touch them the rest of the night. Usually we end up watching a show together (we just started New Girl and we’re LOVING it…so funny 😆) so we’re not completely device free but I feel much more connected than when we both are on separate devices! It’s so nice to disconnect for a little bit & just be together! So what do you say can you do it? Try it for one night! The days get busy and then around 8 I remember I didn’t post but I’d much rather enjoy some cuddles with my hubby then post (no offense!)
