i get side eyeing twn for choosing radovid as the love interest but being preemptively mad about it and bringing up game radovid is a bit silly since game radovid and book radovid are two different characters and i bet show radovid is gonna be an entirely different character too. the show already made changes to his character by aging him up, prince radovid is a kid who was partly raised by philippa in the books and then gets like three mentions in lady of the lady that’s like “he would go down in history as radovid the stern” and that’s IT. everything else about his character is made up by CDPR and the show is once again not adapting the games so being mad at them for using a book character is just very ??

Right! That actually makes the most sense considering Ciri’s plot line too. Literally everyone and their mothers is after her… I think they also mentioned Jaskier’s falling in love but I can totally see it like one sided. Radovid plays with jaskiers raw feelings after S2’s fiasco and pretends it’s real so that he can trick jaskier into getting closer to ciri. Jaskier sees through it, confirming the sapiosexual part (attracted to intelligence?) and plays along because he’s a spy but can’t help being drawn to it in this pseudo toxic situation ship? Understandable! TWN watchers can be very intense when it comes to every new tidbit of information posted. I think the issue lies in that most fans who are against radovid being the choice they chose is that it’s hard to see him past the mad asshole he was in the game. I know, they aren’t adapting the games and it seems not the books either. There are moments in the show where you can see some stuff implemented from all the genres though. I guess you could call them Easter eggs?

Anyway- like you said, the books didn’t really mention much about him and all we know is the stuff from the games. I think it’s hard for fans to accept that we’ll have to follow another new story point when radovid was already done in a way that made sense in the games, if that makes sense? I mean obviously we hated the character but the writing of his character was at least done well and his decisions actually made waves in the game storyline that depended on what you chose to do with him. Again I don’t know if this makes sense, it’s hard to explain. With how confusing TWN’s plot line is, it just adds to the list of new things we’ll have to remember and it’s obvious fans are just tired at this point.

It’s also a little strange considering jaskiers sandpiper storyline cause radovid as we knew in the games was completely against non humans so much so that he went crazy, so the complete 180 turn from that is hard to imagine. Or maybe jaskier is the one who will change his tune! It’s really up in the air if this is a good decision or not. Best not to get hopes up considering the writers room past offenses though… what do you think?
