Why do I cry when Merlin cries

I was gonna make a silly post about how Merlin has chemistry with everyone because he’s just the guy of all time. But I then I thought, what if there’s actually a reason for that?

Merlin is magic incarnate. He mentions how he can literally feel the earth vibrating. It can be assumed that magic flows through living things, so why should that not apply to people?

I’m not saying every person can perform magic, more so that everyone is made from a piece of it because magic is one of the building blocks of life.

So, Merlin can feel it in people, too. He’s able to connect to even the worst of them because of this sliver of magic. He recognizes it as the truth that everyone is capable of good, that we’re all made of the same things… that everyone is magic.

merlin is such a compelling character because he's so contradictory. he's a man of mystery who's really bad at lying. you can tell he's lying about something, but his behavior is so odd no one can guess what he could possibly be lying about. basically, every character looks at him and goes 'you're clearly hiding something but im not really sure if I want to get into all that right now.' this is why he's able to tell everyone he's a sorcerer in episode three and no one believes him.

arthur, to me, is the most tragic merlin character. he is betrayed by everyone he is close to. his whole family. uther was such a bad father to him, morgana went against him, agravaine was never with him. even merlin lied to him. all he tried to do was his best, yet he constantly felt like he was failing. he felt like he had to push people away, that he couldnt let them in. his life was cut short before he could show people who he was.

yes, merlin lost everyone, but he knew the whole time. he knew what was happening, he was able to try and stop it. arthur didnt know. he wasnt told a lot of things. people kept him out of their decisions.

"I don't think arthur's actually gonna die" he says, after finishing the disir episode. oh sweetie...

my bf and I have made it to the disir episode and he's talking about how he doesn't trust mordred haha. he has no idea...

started watching the boys and I am HOOKED but that means I either have to mute the tag or stay off this app

in 5x01 when arthur wakes up and says "what happened?" and Merlin sighs and says "you don't remember?" you CANNOT tell me that it's not bc merlin had just used magic in front of arthur and was sure he had seen

I have not watched BBC Merlin and probably won't, but I am a fan of the BBC Merlin fandom. This show is old and there is no new content and there probably won't ever be, but all y'all are still posting and creating cool things for and about it. I love it, it makes me so happy for you guys!
