Hello again everyone! This Mineblr is dedicated to the Minecraft Democracy Experiment. Which we have decided to bring back since the first iteration was so successful. If youre wondering what this is, we are happy to provide you with an answer.
The Minecraft Democracy Experiment is a server in which an election is held on the last open day of each month where players can vote to decide who will be the server president. The person voted will recieve op for that month. The server leader can be voted back into power the next month and indefinitely as long as they keep getting voted in. The leader can basically do as they wish, but with a few constraints.
The op is physically incapable of or otherwise not allowed to perform the following actions.
-Putting anyone into creative mode. (you will be auto put back into survival)
-Changing the world boarder size (It is a certain size to make sure there is no lag)
-Kick or Ban players
-Stopping the server
-Committing Op abuse (/kill /clear /effect and giving absurd ammount of netherite or other rare resources to urself or others, this is defined more on our discord server)
There are some other gimmicks built into this experiment.
-The server is only open 3 days a week tuesdays, thursdays, and saturdays from 10am to midnight EST. However the president can join any time to work on their presedential event
-We encourage our presidents to hold a server wide event, like a scavenger hunt or something cool, it makes it fun for everyone.
-Players who are killed by ***Other players*** will be set into spectator mode until revived.
-To revive a player, throw down a totem of undying and have the dead player fly into it
-Totems of undying now have a recipe, 2 gold blocks, 3 gold ingots and 2 emeralds anywhere in the crafting table.
-You must be alive and on the server to participate in the election, if you are dead ur vote wont be counted, and if ur running for President and you win but youre dead, the runner up wins.
-ops cannot use their abilities to kill off opposition during the election process
-Players cannot see eachother's nametags
-Proximity chat is enabled type !shout (message) to talk to everyone
-Election location is decided by the community but will generally take place at spawn.
We highly discourage griefing, and bad behavior on the server, however it is not outlawed. On the contrary hackers and cyber bullies/highly toxic individuals (those who intend actual mental harm, and are not harmlessly roleplaying) will be banned on sight. This is based on the server owners discression.
Keep in mind this is a roleplay esc server, so there will be backstabbing and stuff like that, we dont take anything that happens on the server personally, so by joining we will assume you agree to this to.

Hello all, The election this sunday has passed and the winners are Snackdude and Vriskaxsans, who has beeb president twice now! They plan on sponsoring player's builds and doing fun crazy events!
In other news as we approach christmas I (the tumblr mod) may not be posting as much because my personal life is getting a bit busy. But I will try my best to keep with it :)

Congrats to _PenAndPaper_ and Vriskaxsans on winning this week's election!!! This is the second time the server has had 2 ops!
We also had our first spleef tournament yesterday! The Tysias Simp Team won the tournament after an insane comeback against Team Overlord. We will be announcing dates for future Spleef tournaments soon.

--FACTIONS--
Yes, factions are kind of a thing now. But political parties might be a better term for it.
Players have begun to organise into set groups in order to get their candidate to become God for the week.
We currently have one major team on the server, with a total of 6 members.
If youre interested in rising to power and having control over a minecraft server, this is the server for you.
- Players who are killed by *other players* are set into spectator until revived using a totem of undying. And cannot vote until revived.
- Op can do whatever they like except, going into creative, clearing others inventories, kicking, banning, oping other players, or using command blocks.
That being said, the op can get creative with commands and still do absolutely wild things.
The best part of the server is our non-toxic community who compete but still have fun.

Weekly Update
The results for yesterdays election were definately unique, Entropody and PresidentJeremy tied in the ballot. This week we are going to have a chaotic balance of two server ops!
During this chaos, players are teaming together to build a server spleef arena and other server mini games. Recently an entire roller coaster was built.

Another week, another election! Congrats to our new president Panda_Trucks for winning the election by a landslide.
Recently however there have been some conspiracies going around about players forming secret factions, and bribery for votes, aswell as some big building projects.
We have had a few players assassinated by an unknown entity, most likely political sabotage.
In other news, the server has collectively ruled sand as the most scarce resource and factions are hoarding it.

--Weekly Update--
So far the server has been quite peaceful and happy with the election of feenixashes, who almost mandated every player to have a hot-tub in their base. However, rumors have been passed around that a player is plotting an explosive rebellion.
This sunday, we will be having our second election, players still have time to join and rise to power.
Our current most notable candidates are
- Panda-Trucks
- feenixashes (current op)
- (The Dark Lord) pbtenchi (first op)
