STACKED / TRACKED -Palouse Falls- Washington state has a lot of beautiful location to explore, but unfortunately I was only there for 2 nights before heading to Alaska (back in 2017). I lucked out with clear skies while camping at Palouse Falls. My original edit was at night when other photographers were light painting the falls which came out really cool so I forgot about the twilight shots. While searching around for some photos I came across this foreground and decided to put it to use! STACKED / BLEND - Milky Way At Montauk- While the SpaceX launch from this day was spectacular it doesn't have to overshadow the gorgeous night sky that came before it. This was is first Milky Way of the 2021 season and also my first time photographing from this location. I knew the lights coming off of the structures surrounding the lighthouse were going to be a challenge, however I didn't realize how much I would need to underexpose them. They are ridiculously bright, but overall I think the blend came out pretty good. TIME LAPSE EXIF: Nikon Z6 14-24 2.8s at 16mm ISO 2000 F3.2 Shutter 15 seconds which changed as it turned to twilight (750 frames) Night to day time lapse made easier when the unleashed trigger / app by @foolography - Montauk Milky Way & @spacex Falcon 9 Launch While I wasn't quick enough to get a real time video of the SpaceX launch, I at least had a time lapse running! It happens very quick due to my long exposure, but I was still glad to have caught it! For those who are wondering about the low iso of 2000, this is a tricky lighthouse to photograph. The lights on the surrounding structures are extremely bright so I had to under expose the time lapse and then adjust the sky in post to try and pull detail out of the milky way while trying to keep the lights under control. - SpaceX Falcon 9 Stage 2- SINGLE EXIF - @nikonusa Z7 F4 ISO 500 Shutter 3 seconds I went to Montauk Lighthouse to shoot the Milky Way this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see a @spacex satellite launch streaking across the sky. I was in the middle of changing a battery but I was able to get a shot off during the 2nd stage (I think).
